Hmmm. If we put it in a more domestic term . This is a situation where Alek would view things as a bread winner of a family where his pay check support the happiness and health of an entire family . Finn would come from a position where his professional life feels like only he and him alone would get the consequence because the people around him are more independent .

I see your point and I think it’s fair. I agree that Alek’s point of view is very pragmatic while Finn’s point of view is very idealistic. But just in the spirit of offering more insight into my intent... Alek sees Finn’s hope as a naive belief that the "good guys" always *win*. But Finn’s hope is a belief that what makes the "good guys" good is that they always *try*. They have a difficult time seeing eye to eye because their experience and their tool box differ greatly. But their goal is ultimately still the same. Alek has seen hope fail, he has seen the previous Champion of Hope die, he has seen multiple Heartbrokens destroyed because he couldn’t save them. He has the power to fight, but not to heal. He knows first-hand that things can turn out badly and sees that as the likely outcome. Finn’s hope is the core of his power, the only reason he can save the Heartbrokens is because he believes they can - and should - be saved, and he has healed all the Heartbrokens he has encountered so far. He knows that things can turn out right and *he chooses* to believe in that. Finn’s way doesn’t mean you’ll win every time. There are (a lot of) times when Finn fails at things in the series (and more coming). But the point is that it doesn’t mean he shouldn’t try. And this bears repeating: hope isn’t about succeeding, it’s about trying. If you try, you might fail. If you give up, you will fail for sure. There's more to it, but this is long enough for a novel and I'm sure you get it lol!

Yeah . It s a fairly big debate. Remind a bit when I was young and could debate hours on Super Hero comics. Should Batman kill the Jocker? Do we need someone like the Punisher? Does Super Man in injustice have a point and when is it taken thing to far ? Does Nightwing really have the best butt of DC? Who got the best butt in Marvel?
