I never really got them killing Beth here, I feel like it was just for shock value, because "Oh it's the Mid Season finale! of course we've gotta have a big death" If the circumstances are good for it, sure, they're big episodes for a reason, but it just felt so forced. I think it would've been a more shocking turn of events if they REALLY made it look like someone was gonna die. and had them all make it out Maybe that's copium, and I'm just mad cause Beth was developing so well, and I was excited for her and Maggie to reunite again, but it just never sat right with me, easily in the top (Number redacted) deaths that just made me look at the screen like "Just why though?" Having her go through all those trials, and tribulations, really coming into her own as a Character, rather than being, admittedly kinda, in the background, from her stint with Daryl, to everything at Grady, I found myself REALLY enjoying Beth and her development, she really went from "The girl that sings sometimes" to someone I'd REALLY be rooting for Not that I disliked her as a character before of course, but yeah, she felt very, enriched after all of this :\ And yeah it very much seems like Dawn fired by pure reflex, the shocked look on her face, and her trying to say she didn't mean to

So stupid death

I'm late to the party here, but yeah, it was a silly death. That said, silly pointless deaths happen in real life, I guess. I think that what Beth meant by "I get it now" was that she saw Dawn as the petty controlling person she really is. Beth's never had much self-preservation, and she's young. She acted on instinct and lashed out at Dawn. Dawn's trigger instinct took over, and after she did it her expression was immediately 'oh no what have I done!' I adored Beth, so it was such a silly death, but I like that the show never kills the person you think they are going to kill.
