Okay so... since you asked for an explanation: That's Elena. We know it's not Katherine because 1. Elena hasn't invited her in. 2. Klaus has her trapped in Alaric's loft. After Damon told her that he'd always choose her over Bonnie, she didn't like that and decided to go wake up Elijah to see if there is a Plan B that doesn't involve her best friend being killed. It's desperation.
