I love Alaric so much. I sobbed like a baby when he died, and again when he died in Damon's arms and again when he appeared to Jeremy as a ghost and again when I realized in 4x2 he was saving Alaric's seat when Liz and Elena came in oh and then again when Damon was at his grave and again when he orders a bourbon for Alaric in this episode. Truly I was pathetic and I"m glad I don't do reactions cause it was seriously embarrassing how much I cried about Alaric. I mean it's a tv show and I'm not five. Even though it makes me sad I just think it was so PERFECT how the show handled his death. I love that they have kept showing how it is affecting Damon. Also anyone who reads my comments knows that Matt bores me but I really liked this scene where MATT of all people (Liz and Elena didn't seem to get it, if they did they didn't say so) is the one who understands what Damon is doing. I also wonder if that was what made Matt talk to Damon there, cause it may be the first time he's seen any real emotion or humanity in Damon.

**You were right the first time, Klaus's hallucinations went away 52 ish years later because another potential hunter became a full hunter by presumably killing a vampire, it wasn't because he killed five of them at the same time. Klaus didn't know that because as he said, one day it just stopped. He hadn't seen them in 900 years because he wasn't looking. He had no reason to think The Five would appear again. Just because HE hasn't' seen them doesn't mean they didn't exist. Like Damon and werewolves. Random Note: In 3x11 when Klaus cures Caroline's werewolf bite he tells Caroline he's thought about killing himself/ending it all "once or twice over the centuries' maybe this was what he was referring to.

So many emotional moments this episode but above all Alaric oh god watching Damon sitting in Ric’s class saying your missing all the adventure buddy always gets me. I’m so glad you realized it now that Damon had kept that seat for Ric when we see it in episode 4x2 he doesn’t even allow Elena to sit there and that’s saying something. Elena’s hallucinations specially of her mom was so heartbreaking to watch. I loved how Damon was selfless again at the end there with Elena when he tells her that Stefan did all this for her and told her about the cure. I have to say I was really surprised Matt going over to Damon to tell him about the connection he found out about Prof Shane and Pastor young. Just imagine them teaming up haha. Stefan finally breaking up with Elena he just needs to move on. The girl he is holding onto died when she turned and now she has more feelings for Damon than ever, I’m happy he realizes that yeah, it’s sad for him but sooner the better. I feel terrible for Tyler he lost his friend from his pack and that means a lot to werewolves he literally seen him get killed in front of him and could do nothing about it on top of that he promised Chris that he had his back so I totally get his frustration. And Caroline agrees for a date with Klaus but I’m extremely happy about it haha. Klaus and Caroline, I just love it when they share screen space it always gets a huge smile on my face.

Great feedback. I have shipped Damon and Elena since Season 1 episode 2. I just saw such chemistry.. Love Stefan too and as you said he like Damon will always protect Elena. It's just when you look back Damon has stepped up so many times to keep her safe regardless of consequences. There used to be a shirt saying, "Send me a man sweet as Stefan, loyal as Damon and Strong as Klaus...I would add as moral as Elijah...

My take on the "Stefan was the one to ease Elena into the vampire world" I think Damon would have been fine also. Elena being a doppelganger was bound to end up in the vampire world (Bonnies mom stopped it a long time ago when Michael came for her) and when Elena met Damon (first) on the road that night, you could see how attracted to him she was. just my take on it :)

Nods, I became a Delana shipper in Season 1 Episode 3, when he saw deeply and insight into her when it came to cheerleading. Also, that instinct of her just following his advice and trusting him that early on into the series. While she saw insight into his connection with Katherine and offered an apology about losing her also. Then of course there was the road trip. I was never a Stelena shipper, though I understand the story and plot significance of the Stelena ship at that time, I just never buy into the too good to be true and love at first sight story lines. This is of course how they set the ship up at first as well, Stefan presenting himself as "perfect" and "good" to Elena while always hiding his secrets from her. I the first 10 episodes of season 1 is all about this really, with Episode 10 being called Turning Point when she sees the picture of Katherine, then next Episode is the road trip with Damon. I mean they basically told you what would happen eventually with in those 2 episodes. This episode is the culmination of everything started in those 11 episodes, now coming to fruition.

What Katherine says is actually true concerning Stefan, and eventually Stefan's action prove this to be true. As well as what Damon said in the previous episode is true.

There is a part of me that wished Tyler and Hayley had actually become a thing, it would have made Tyler story more interesting eventually, because Tyler and Caroline reminds me too much of Matt and Karoline, they just dragged the relationship out too long, Tyler storyline later well... I have seen Originals, so I do know, but I just love Hayley's character over Caroline's.
