Brenner might be alive since they never showed us his body and we saw both Benny, Barb and even the other lab ppl who got killed by Eleven in season 1 except for Brenner, we just saw the demogorgon jumping on him and nothing else. So, yeah, I don't know about it yet, but I think he could.
