Actually in ep 1 Corlys was talking about Crab feeder in the small council. I believe if you rewatch ep 1 and also beginning of ep 2 that will be clear. And Sea Snake is another name by which Corlys Velaryon is known by.

While we were riveted by Daemon in the pilot, I gotta say that right now, I find Alicent the most intriguing character. And I did to some extent too in the first episode. She is old enough to understand what her father was asking of her without spelling it out, cunning enough to succeed, and young enough to be afraid and possibly disgusted. But there is something else to her that I am struggling to express: for now, I would describe it as a muted, quiet recklessness. Recall how she gave her favor to Daemon at the tourney event though he was obviously trying to embarrass her father by choosing and knocking out her older brother. And the first time Otto sent her to the king, she knew what was up, was not necessarily thrilled about it, yet forged ahead without hesitation. She did not utter a word of protest. She is a pawn in her father's game but I feel like those soft features are hiding a core of steel. More than Daemon, if there is a person whose inner thoughts I would love to know right now, it's Alicent's. Finally, Emily Carey's is not getting enough credit. The subtlety of her performance is insane. She deserves the same praise Matt Smith and others are getting. Edit: I should note that the actress' reading of her character is quite different from mine. She called Alicent "an anxious rule follower" 😬. Interesting.

Maybe the anxious part is how she picks her fingernails until they bleed and the rule follower part is doing what her dad tells her no matter what and the general rules of court? Like you said, she didn't seem thrilled but she certainly wasn't going to go against her father. She knows exactly what's up and I don't think she likes it that much but I do feel she is all about possibly being the queen. She did look a bit dismayed when Viserys was talking about Laena. Not sure if that's because she didn't want to disappoint her father or she wants to be queen. Maybe both? I don't think that we will see her be a victim in any way, I feel she may learn how to play the game.

lmao, Aish "Men are idiots wanting/causing bloodshed". I feel like you've quickly forgotten about two women named Cersei and Daenerys. People are people and power is power
