[Process] šŸ¤” Not that I dislike "memory games" or "banterverse," but if our plotline was a primetime TV drama what would the title be? (Patreon)

Multiple lead characters. Overlapping storylines. Secrets that go back generations. Family dynasties. Global intelligence agencies. Course-changing scientific breakthroughs people will kill for. Mystery/Drama/Sci-fi/Spy/Action - and yes I do plan to have more VAs than just me eventually šŸ˜„.

It gives me vibes of shows like Scandal, How to Get Away With Murder, those types of shows. I think it would end in everyone dying or something lol

Skarlett

ā€œDonā€™t Get Lostā€, lol (Iā€™ll think of a better title that was just the first thing that came to mind with the amount of info in the caption)

Alyssa

depends what youā€™re going for, if it seemed to be something more tech savvy then iā€™d say something along the lines of TechnologicalBanter unless you want something a bit less personal and more related to the action thatā€™ll be taking place. (just an idea and iā€™m not very creative lol)

jak ā™”

i got this notif RIGHT after opening my eyes from my nap and itā€™s taken me nearly five minutes to try and make the words make sense in my brain

Tombanter

1st idea: "Strings" you know like the red strings the crazy person who ends up being "right all along" has tying newspaper clippings and photographs together xD

yeah thinking something more thematic, because SFW stuff goes to youtube and they have no freakin idea what Banter or Banteverse would mean xD

rae

Idk something like The Curse of Dimensionality in terms of like the four dimensions of psychological health which would be mental, spiritual, social and physical health šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø Iā€™ll come back when Iā€™m not high

Murdermaid

uhhhhhhhhh, Prism Fates! Optical cube prisms always reminded me of a multiuniverse, or a world within a world. Idk man, I dont get paid enough to think >:P

Morgan

ā€œStringsā€ would fit very well with how everything is interconnected. ā€œStoryboardā€ ā€œLove, in Company of Othersā€ ā€œString Theoryā€ would be similar to your idea

No! I was angling towards the idea/exploration that we all have our impressions of the past, the truth, who we are/were, and how that's represented and accepted in how we interact. (Also, maybe I trying real hard for a Bad Robot-esque single word title~)

You also mean this as "string someone along"; don't lie! EDIT: Also, I really like this

Morgan

ā€œTime Frameā€ or ā€œTime Zoneā€ might be good because of how vast your storyline is. Starting at a different place in your storyline could change how you perceive the plot. But the story could still make sense

Skarlett

ā€œLost In a Fantasyā€, ā€œDo You Know Who You Are?ā€, ā€œThe Arcā€ (derived from ā€œstory arcā€)

Morgan

ā€œConfluenceā€ The name for when multiple bodies of water merge together. All of these stories eventually connect and flow together.

oooh i love that one, and i'm surprised one of the big networks hasn't made a show with that name yet. thank you!

girlonasurfboard

ā€œThe Etherā€ You set the stage way far back with Untapped, and the ā€˜docā€™ performing hypnosis on the listener. Then Tom Banter ā€œcoming out of the etherā€ with no memory of who he is, but having sessions with the doc to try and regain the lost time.

Tombanter

this is bomb, it's kind of like time dilation, but the observers are both the cast and the listeners!

Tombanter
>>45400341

holy crap i never even considered "what if" the listener was actually tom banter.... which makes that audio hella more hot to me now :p

Lydia

I'm not good at this BUT what about "Time Unfolding" or "Secrets Untold" cause of all the different characters storylines that somehow relate to each other and will all eventually come together or "unfold"? lol

>>45399190

it's done lovingly~ (also, I *heard* this with the yell you used in the "disgruntled tik toker" video lol)

Tombanter

idea 2 "Singularities" it means so many things depending on the field, but they can all relate to this project. one of those meanings in particular will play a direct role in the story

šŸ‘€ I really like how much thematic, contextual, AND metatextual latitude this gives you

TC

Inversion, Continued Engagement, Order of Events. Maybe I should keep thinking.

c

I like the idea of "Tangent."

Michiii

Tbh Its hard to come up with titlesšŸ˜… but ( Parallel secrets, time tangled, controlled reality(idk about this one), fighting demonsšŸ¤¦šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø, stringed universe) idk how I feel about them But Iā€™ll keep thinking šŸ’

Skarlett

Omg he should do a poll on which to pick if he canā€™t decide!

Mainly because all the story lines run very closely to each other and you tend to go on a begging tangent in the NSFW audios šŸ˜

Sabina

Hmm, maybe something like "Forgotten Past" or "Convergence"? Lool I love to write stuff, but I always have a problems with coming up with titlesšŸ˜ hopefully I get better at it.

I will decide! haha I am so indecisive but this i can decide and i am so thankful for all the suggestions and inspiring ideas!

(... from a superficial web/UI perspective, I also like the look of this as a website heading link and as a title on your YouTube playlists page)

"Singularities" might just win because of its multicontextual nature. It offers a cerebral quality that keeps it cold and would allow for a greater variety of genre storytelling. I'm thinking similar to Todd's "Audio Dime Novels" except we'll call ours a "Singularity: Title" for instance. "Confluence" also works, but the fluid nature of the title feels too tranquil for this story. It also suggests a single event, a confluence, but this is all about several events happening throughout the course of history. "Order of Events" could work, except it might focus too much on the arrangement of the stories rather than the substance of the stories themselves. "Engagements" also works, but not as well as Singularities does with respect to theme, context and metacontext. "Tangents" is dope because of all the different stories that graze against each other, but again, it brings focus away from the actual stories and more importance on the actual interaction between the stories--stories that I'd like to keep as vignettes that work as short form standalone stories. "Strings" works, it doesn't have the same metameaning as Singularities, but it works for a lot of the reasons combined above, and sounds cool. "Convergence" is good but also focuses on crashing of events rather than the events themselves. These are all sooooo fucking cool. All of these titles. (I lowkey might just use some of them for individual episode titles haha)

Skarlett

I see youā€™re leaning HARD towards ā€œSingularitiesā€, which I really do like as a title, and I just wanted to put this out there because it came up in conversation and I just thought it was a really good term: Maladaptive Daydreaming. The Banterverse is so diverse and complex, with character back stories running on for miles. The term resonated with me for new Tom Banter because of all the key factors that contribute to the term: ā€œtrauma and neglectā€, ā€œyearningā€, ā€œunsuccessful treatment attemptsā€, ā€œshame and concealmentā€ and much more. I donā€™t know. In summary, cool term and it was stuck in my head for a while and I wanted to share.

Tory

Iā€™m sorry for being late to the party here! I gave this a lot of thought. If I were to give the banterverse a primetime TV show title, I think I would go with ā€œThe Contingentā€. The series follows a main character whose whole world is turned upside down. Introduced to us so far is a young man who is content with his life but he feels that there could be more to life than what is seemingly planned out for him. Then unforeseen tragedy strikes and two ideas suddenly stand juxtaposed to each other: stability vs uncertainty. As soon as he imagined a life of getting away; stepping outside of his familiar surroundings (town, comforts of home), now he is suddenly all but RIPPED from that old life. And he cannot get it back. The series is rich with a variety of themes that dip into every genre (just about): drama, mystery, action, sci-fi, and espionage. However, one theme stands out the most to me and that is the ambiguity of life. No matter how hard we plan we never really know what will happen in our lives that will change it. Simply put, nothing stays the same. This is why it is so important to live life in the NOW and to take every challenge a step at a time. Every audio so far released in the series has thrown this character into situations where no one amount of planning could have prepared him. A contingency is like playing a game of chance with a ā€œfailsafeā€. We create contingency plans for any outcome to ensure that our lives are kept ā€œon trackā€. We canā€™t prepare for everything because we donā€™t have all the answers. However, it is important to remember that that WE (ourselves) are our own contingency plan. A contingent is roughly defined as being ā€œcertain circumstances being dependent on a common feature . . .ā€. The one thing in life that is for certain is ourselves. We have all the strength and tools we need to overcome any obstacle. Now, is this all predetermined like fate or mapped out by a divine being? Or is it a delicate universal system of checks and balances that weave our lives to their ultimate conclusion? Who can say for certain, however, we have the will to shape our future be our own ā€œfailsafeā€ in life. In this case, Tom is his own failsafe. The Contingent that everything around him is based on and that brings all of the pieces (people and events) together that ultimately leads to . . . Well, wherever it will lead, lol!!
