It's interesting because while this has most of the hallmarks of your domestic/slice of life one-shots, it feels different. There's a lot of subtle work with the bg sfx, score, and overall sound levels, but i don't think that's it (although there was some panning that was quite fun). While it could be due to me revisiting one of the older pieces recently, idk there's something about this one that feel significantly different. Although it does feel similar to "Take Me There," so it's not a total departure from what you're doing now, but I think that can be attributed to the vocal delivery (=/= acting). In any case, the musical choices are SO good. And the transitions? The 22 minute mark hits the spot in more ways than one. The piano in that track is so pretty and the strings give it a moodiness that heightens the thrill/danger of the exhibitionism without going too far into the danger/suspicion from "Perfect Form." It's a balanced atmosphere of intimacy that's not cloying. The premise is really sweet and the script is super sexy. Jesus, some of those lines? Oh my. And the ending is cute AF, especially with that way you edited your laugh moving away and then coming back into proximity. And the lyric weaving! My fave. Anyhoooo... TLDR; this has become one of my favorites.

This has been one of the best audios I've heard. I- I'm speechless. Definitely a HIGH reward replay. haha thanks Tom ☺

I... my brain is having a hard time forming the words rn to describe how much I freaking *loveeeed* thisssss For the first 15 or so minutes I nearly *cried* and then boom, mood FLIPPED Also, the music throughout the whole audio, and then the big ✨finish✨ were both god tier immaculate and this is easily my new favorite, thank you 😩🙌🏽

Gingersnap

I agree with Bow in that this one feels...different from your other one-shots. It's hard to put a finger on it, but it was my first thought within the first ten minutes. I think it is the phenomenal acting tbh! This one felt 'real' and more intimate for some reason. Either way, the combination of the sexy scenario (everyone likes a little danger), the sound design, your voice, Tom...just so good! Idk if it makes sense but for some reason emotionally, this almost felt like this was something I needed, but I didn't KNOW that I needed it?? Definitely going to be one of my faves too! <3 I'm always so impressed with everything you do.

jacijoan

I- this premise! The score! Your voice! The sfx! Amazing work as always tom! Keep it up🖤

Jen

Tom even though I love strings/arc/epic whatever you call it lol I love your one shots slice of life. And this is now one of my favorites. Besides ambiance and the music which makes it even more perfect, but the timing and how you took your time with every part. And by the end of it I was crying. Thank you for this audio.

Tankie

It took me a minute, but I think I have words now: Wow! The music/soundscape/sfx was beautiful. The hum of the city, the buzzing and creaking of the bugs, the wind, the way the music seamlessly transitioned as the story developed. Tom, your pacing, tone and delivery of the lines were perfection! & could this be any sweeter?! I laughed because it reminded me of my last rehearsal before the pandemic. Our conductor kept shouting at our section to play lighter and sweeter. This was that: Light, sweet & just the right slice (of life). Bravo Tommy! 💕

Anna G.

Oh man, the soundscape on this one - bravo. The cars accelerating, the occasional horn, that breeze (!)... I was *on* that rooftop. Really skillful work engaging ALL the senses on this one.

.....the" let go home honey " not gonna lie...made me cry.. that sounded so sweet.....nnmm...❤ ..work of art as always

Thomas, I-. I don’t know what you did but this was absolutely incredible. Part way through, my brain turned into soup. Head empty, no thoughts. This was absolutely amazing! After this, I has a Locke moment when the island couldn’t decide if it wanted to allow him to keep his newfound mobility of his legs. This is *chef’s kiss*! I just-. This belongs in a museum somewhere, truly a work of art!

Kitty

Idk what it was about this particular audio but it definitely had a different feel to it and it was absolutely PERFECT!!!

You know the audio is good when you have to save it and come back to it later😭😭😭 this’ll be my post exam treat 💀 Thanks again Thomassss🤍

I know I’ve said this before, but your acting, pacing, inflections, and the skilled use of your registers really elevate your audios to a higher level of quality. It really feels like the listener is actually part of the conversation with you, rather than just you narrating the scene. Additionally, the scene-building and soundscaping make your audios even more immersive and multi-dimensional which, in turn, makes the fucky stuff even sexier to listen to. Basically, good job brah. 🤙🏼❤️

K

So so so good! I love your bfe content so much! Can’t get enough of it. You are so talented. 💙💙💙

Laura

This one is so much fun. The premise is absolutely relatable (who hasn't locked themselves out before), but the lean into exhibitionism obviously elevates it to a whole new level. The soundscaping on this is so gorgeous and truly ambient (it really felt like I was on that roof), and the scoring? Gah, I loved the scoring so much! It felt like a callback to some of the older audios (Best Girl came to mind immediately, just because the scoring in that one always sticks out in my mind), but it still feels fresh. The dynamic in this one is so fun, because even though there's obviously a little annoyance in the beginning, there's a playfulness that makes it obvious that this couple is pretty much game for whatever. I jokingly told a couple people this was the zooted couple from a while back at their new place. I don't really know what else to add at this point because I'm just rambling, but I really enjoyed this one 🖤

I had to go back to 22:00 to see what you were talking about, but I love that track. I scored this piece a little differently than normal, two vocal tracks and the orchestral had some whimsy. But maybe my vocal delivery (TECHNICAL MOAN SKILL) has improved?

Being shouted at to play LIGHT AND SWEETER just sounds so funny to me lol. I am glad you enjoyed this

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I wish I knew what was different people keep mentioning so I can bottle it up and use it like my grandma's MSG

I agree that narrating the scene, especially through the sex, can ruin it. At least for me it does. I'm tryin to start a revolution!

TL;DR - I'm an emotional person and I love how you tell stories in the form of these audios. I... don't really know if I'm being quite honest. I know of at least a few people in the community who will agree with me when I say that this audio had almost like a different vibe to it (in a good way). For me personally, I got the vibe of being in a long-term relationship where there's a certain level of comfortability in being spontaneous like that (I assume it's [x listener]) so then it became a situation where "Hey, we're going to be stuck up here for awhile so what better way to pass the time?" This kind of gave it a more intimate feel in my opinion. Also, the sound design and how you portrayed your character. This didn't have the feel of you acting a part; this felt more realistic and that it was a normal situation (for clarification: I don't consider this to be a flaw in your other audios; I absolutely adore every single one of them and there's not a single one I dislike for any reason), if that makes sense? And also I'm generally an emotional person anyway soooo XD

Luvv

This was really good! I love that you brought attention to people watching you and listener at the end !

I have a few unsolicited thought about what made this one feel different, at least for me. This is the first stand-alone audio you’ve published in a while so that in itself is different. But stemming from that, because the characters were all new with no backstory, it was easier to imagine that the listener could have been me. For example, the more “personal” details I learn about the STRINGS characters, the more they become their own character and less relatable to me. Second, it is was nice to just be able to lose myself in the vignette without the stress of listening to every detail worrying that if I missed anything, it would fuck up my understanding of what is going on in STRINGS. Lastly, because it was not tied to STRINGS, it seems that you gave yourself more freedom or liberties to be a new character rather than having to be consistent with an already established personality. Like, you didn’t have to follow the “Kieran formula” or “Barnes formula.” This time you created a new formula, a *different* formula. I hope that makes sense

I completely agree! For me it was more intimate for me as a listener and the ambiance as a whole. It has the slight feel of summer love under the willow mixed with the one on one of blazing love. Like instead of me being a the listener in a storyline I was just a listener in a situation that I could actually imagine happening to me at some point. Just my thoughts

CP

i cant ger enough of your audios. hyper realistic. i could imagine everything, its like I could feel the slight breeze, and see the stars, see the tiny windows of other buildings. the layers really make it that much more immersive. you are play your role wonderfully, i can feel the passion; your audios give me butterflies and make me blush...and I never blush lol. love your work

rosiecheeks

Hoo boy, this one is definitely a new favorite. The ambiance of the city in this is SO immersive. Was I waiting for the rumble of the L in the background? Maybe. Also, the controlled danger of the exhibitionism aspect was really well done. It wasn't directly dangerous like some audios featuring exhibitionism, but it had an element of excitement and intrigue. The couple is fun and gives us a peek into their lives without being overly prescriptive or lore-heavy. The lack of lore makes it super fun to delve into because it allows for me to create my own connections and really immerse myself in the piece by adding my own bits. The audio is reminiscent of some of your earlier audios in that it captures a moment between a couple and really delves deep into their relationship through the captured interaction. I dunno, I really love this one—it feels intimate and fun and exciting and comfortable and includes a lot of my favorite elements of your work.

Looloo

I think the freedom this couple feels being together in this moment and place in a very alive-sounding city after the last 14-15 months is giving me catharsis and that's why, for me anyway, this both feels different and a bit emotional. Like, I feel joy for them that they're enjoying their intimacy with seemingly not a a care in the world weighing them down or making them hesitate (eventually lol), and we can hear the world going on around them. That the most real-life of complications in this audio were locks and skinny jeans ❤😂 only added endearment to it. Beautifully done, all of it.

Milo-Cosplay

I need a man that can eat my kitty as long as this audio can, cause damn. Bravo sir, bravo.
