After diving into some of Şebnem Ferah's biggest hits for the first time, I just had to check out another one from her 2007 Istanbul concert. The song is called Sil Baştan!

Hey sammy! The male guitarist is actually a very famous artist and he played in another famous rock/metal group in Turkey, which name is Pentagram. But he is a very close friend of Sebnem and performed with her on this masterpiece concert.

Please do the whole concert... It is one of my biggest regrets that I could not attend because I was underage... Even if your reaction took 2 hours, everyone would watch it believe me. 'Ben Sarkimi Soylerken' is iconic but there are gems like 'Delgec (Piercer)' which will make your jaw drop. That song's performance made me sure that she is not human. The fact that she writes all her songs, even composes and produces... So it is impossible to grasp the songs fully without lyrics. E.g. as you realized in your reaction to 'Ben Sarkimi Soylerken (While I Sing My Song)' she is attacking to her ex who cheated on her. There are such metaphors like 'the little slippy hole you crawled in...' which refers to her ex as he chose another 'hole' i.e. sleeping with another woman. And for the concert's translations, chatgpt does a decent job if you give accurate prompts like 'translate metaphors accurately, protecting the meaning and localize when needed'

Şebnem Ferah lost her older sister in 1998 due to health problems, I remember reading that she wrote this song for her. Also she lost her father in the devastating 1999 "Gölcük" earthquake. I think when singing this song, she especially mourns them in a way. I also always think about the major traumas that we lived as a country while listening it.

Şebnem is truly a goddess...A voice like hers has never come to Turkey. She recently gave a concert in Ankara after many years, and it was completely packed. Could you also react to some of her other songs? The depth, emotion, and perspective in your reactions help me broaden my own way of seeing and hearing things. "Vazgeçtim Dünyadan" , Bu Aşk Fazla Sana or Hoscakal, maybe. And of course, we're also looking forward to your reactions to the songs of the superstar Ajda.
