in eastern cultures, it is a sign of respect to eat the food someone offers. if someone eats a lot of the food given, it makes them feel pleased. it would be disrespectful if ung left the table without eating. the fact that he stayed despite how the grandma was treating him and ate all that means he cares even more about yeonsu and her family than he shows to be

Hi! I love this series! You mentioned not wanting to see spoilers/teasers at the end of the episodes but it does have epilogue scenes at the end of some episodes that are super important to the story. It's meant to tease you yes but you don't always get a recap of it in the next episode. Sometimes it just jumps right in from where the epilogue left off. Episode 11 especially you need to watch all the way til the end!
