even being bipolar is such a full circle moment for isak because he has held such a high prejudice against mental illness because of his mom, so for the boy he loves to end up being mentally ill is definetly a big thing for isak in breaking that prejudice. even's text was so heartbreaking because him saying he was afraid of losing him was based on the fact that not only is he ashamed of his mental illness but he was afraid that isak would leave him because of what isak told him in the locker room in ep 5 about how he does not associate with mentally ill people. "you're not alone" is something we all need to be reminded of.

fun fact: that last scene won tv moment of the year at the gullruten ceremony (norwegian emmys)

Magnus is such an underrated character, loved his conversation with Isak! Not sure if you realised but Even's message to Isak at the end is implied to be a suicide message and Isak thought he was too late when he saw the bench before he realised he might be in the bathroom. It all ties into their Romeo and Juliet storyline: - Isak and Even met in a bathroom, like Romeo & Juliet. - Isak finds an old video of Even where he says that Baz Luhrmann is his favourite director and that every epic love story should have a main character dying at the end. - "Talk Show Host" by Radiohead is playing both when Isak sees Even and when Romeo is introduced in the movie. - "I'm Kissing You" by Des'ree is playing when both Isak & Even and Romeo & Juliet have their first kiss. - That underwater kiss is a reenactment of Romeo & Juliet's underwater kiss. - Romeo always being either super depressed or super hyped/manic in the movie - he could have bipolar disorder like Even. - Isak being in a church when he receives Even's suicidal text and Romeo & Juliet committing suicide in a church.

I caught some of those connections, but not all of them! I didn't take the text as a suicide note which brings the emotion Isak was feeling to a whole different level. I love that he ran to him!

Isak's friends really shine for the second half of the season. They are similar to Isak in the way where they sometimes make ignorant comments, but they are good people and try, which is sometimes more important. Magnus talking about his mom was a great moment. It's a great full circle storyline to have the person Isak falls for to be suffering with mental illness like his mom does. Like you said, learning more and opening up his eyes for Even will in turn help him with his mother as well. The ending scene is just beautiful!
