I think Shane´s dad was trying to give them space, but he should have said SOMETHING before just driving off. I think its cute that he didn´t out Shane to his mom though. The charity was never a "coming out plan" its just to shift public perception of their relationship, away from a rivalry towards a "friendship" so it wouldn´t be seen as odd or out of place when they hang out in public, they weren´t planning on announcing their intimate relationship to the public with this. You should be good for the first 2 books, be aware that they aren´t literary masterpieces or anything, but they are simple, a bit smutty, easy reads.

the paln was not for coming out the charity plan was for them to be seen in public as friends cuz they are rivals in the eye fo public not to come out they just want to be able to been seen as friends in public and then when they retire from hockey be together cuz their afre no out gay hockey players except Scott in the this universe plsu them coming out and just saying it wouldn't work cuz they wouldn't be able to play cuz they are rivals its agiest hockey rules to be in realtionship with a member of a different rival team that why they cant say they are together until they retire that's was the whole prob cuz they are on rival teams still when illya would play for ottowa as well they just made that plan to be friends in the public eye and not be rivals like they have played off so much in the public eye basically they didn't make the plan to come put as gay or in a realtio ship wth each other just to be able to be seen as friends for now until they retire to be together

if they were on the same team ti would be different now but back then that wasn't the only prob cuz they weren't fully in a realtionship then but now there only prob is that they are on different teams still even with this plan and they cant be on same teams
