I think Darius was her prom date back in the day? And tbh, this is already the last time he shows up. He is more or less just here as a plot device to give us stakes with the hostage situation. Maybe they had some plans initially? But I think season 6 is the time when May´s actress starts to take a step back and appear less, if I remember correctly they wrote her out of dispatch etc because Corinne (May) was starting college and had less time to be on the show. Uncle Buck babysitting Jee was such a cute scene! I love seeing Buck with kids, which is ironically another reason why I hate the donor thing.
