Actually it's in ER. Season 1 episodes 6-9 or something like it. Benton keeps patching this guy up and he ends up at some point having too much and ends up shooting his tormentor.

S3 is not quite Peak ER for me, but it does a lot of good work for Doug/Carol which for this era was like half of the reason i was watching. I really love that Carol does not fix Doug. He finally starts fixing himself, and their friendship comes back before the romance does. That is why the porch kiss works. They kissed before. This one actually feels earned. Jeanie gets one of the strongest arcs, though I still do not buy the Al reunion. Kerry defending her is one of those irritating moments where I have to admit Kerry was great. Mark spends the season making increasingly bad choices, neglecting Rachel, treating Jeanie badly, then gets beaten and spirals. I am not a Mark person, and S3 does not exactly make the case. Benton gets humbled hard. Gant shakes him, pediatrics forces him to find some empathy, then the finale gives him a tiny premature son. Very subtle, ER. Carter is actually okay this season, which from me is praise. I liked Doyle shutting him down, and I always enjoy the slow reveal that he is not just rich but "Oh Kerry, I do not need salary" rich. Susan leaves, the cast starts changing, ER revolving door in full swing. And great guest starts Kirsten Dunst was excellent, and Ewan McGregor turns up to ruin Carol’s day and give her some of tv's quickest case of Stockholm's syndrome was because 90s ER pre-fame guest casting was on point. So no, not my favorite season. But very good! Some great character development for everyone. And we are getting very close to my favorite ER era, and there is one particular arrival next season I am trying very hard not to grin about. For now, I get Doug and Carol on the porch. I’ll take it. See ya next month for starting S4 and oh what a fun opening it will be :D
