The final line that shook the world for months. I double checked and it looks like ep 23 aired in May 2007 and ep 1 of season 4 didn't air until January 2008, so almost a year of waiting to see how it turns out.

Your reaction in the last scene was all of us! Jack seems to be having some island withdrawals! Also, the name of the Funeral Home is an Easter egg. When this finale aired in May 2007, we had to wait until January 31, 2008 for the season 4 premiere. Lots of speculation and theories on the message boards back in 2007!

Also regarding Charlie… If you believe Desmond, his vision of the future would change/be altered if Charlie didn’t die or the actions didn’t occur exactly as he foresaw it.

"We have to go back" and "Not Penny's boat" are such iconic lines that were discussed among viewers for months and years and are still recognized upon fans to this day. There were T-Shirts and other plethora of merchandising and you can still find a lot of them today. They are right up with the numbers. Oh and btw: the funeral parlor Jack goes to is named "Hoffs/Drawlar" which is an anagram to .... Flash Forward. So yes, that was no flash back anymore. 😂

Great reaction as always Lexi, I can't wait for season 4 😆 Regarding Charlie's death: I'm totally on your side 😞 Desmond & Charlie could've jumped into the moon pool and swam back up. They both made it down there and swimming upwards is so much easier 😩

I was also frustrated by the avoidable nature of Charlie's death but he had already accepted that he was supposed to die and Desmond had told him that if things didn't happen the way he said, his vision (Claire getting rescued) wouldn't come true. Hope that justifies and makes it more realistic for you!

Even if Charlie’s death was avoidable this time, how long was he going to cheat death? It was going to happen sooner or later and he accepted it for a good reason.

I get why you are upset with the way Charlie died… but if you remember… Desmond had said that Claire wouldn’t get rescued if Charlie didn’t go out the way his vision showed him to go out… it was less dying a hero and more ENSURING Claire got rescued no matter what. And that to me justifies his death and the fact he goes out in the most selfless way makes me appreciate it even more:) hope this helps:)
