Hey guys, so unfortunately I won't be able to react to Gen V. I know originally I said I would, but unfortunately starting with s2 my Boys reactions have been struggling on youtube. I know that Gen V reactions get even less views, so as it stands I know it won't do well and since it takes a lot of time and effort to do these reactions, I'm just worried that financially it won't be worth it. I'm also worried that if I stop posting The Boys for 2 months then when I eventually do come back to it the viewership it had would drop even more. I know this sucks!! I was really curious about Gen V and I'm sure it's just as crazy as The Boys is so it would have been so much fun reacting to it :(

I mean I guess I could still react to it. Since I have no idea how interconnected the two shows are you guys have to help me out here. I could binge watch s1 of Gen V between The Boys s3 and s4 or I could skip it completely and then I can react to Gen V exclusively on patreon after i have finished all the seasons of The Boys.

I don't mind doing either option it really just comes down to how important it is for me to have seen Gen V before continuing with The Boys.

Again I'm really sorry that it has to be this way. I'm honestly really confused as to why my views tanked so badly on youtube. Season 1 performed just fine and then s2 happened and things just fell off real hard. I will never understand the youtube algorithm.

Anyway let me know what you guys think i should do.

Oh and this is a poll for both seasons. So if you pick binge then i'm gonna watch both seasons. Not now of course. I'll watch s2 between s4 and s5.

You can get away with not watching season 1 in between 3 and 4 of the boys just about, outside of one plot point and a couple of characters that are introduced in Gen V. But stuff that happens in season 2 of Gen V will almost certainly play a big part in season 5 of The Boys.

Don't react to anything if it doesn't get enough views. (Except of course shows that you've already started.) If your The Boys reactions don't do well, then Gen V reactions will get very low viewership, no matter when you do them. Just binge watch the show without reacting to it, is my suggestion. About the "interconnectedness": Gen V season 1 does connect a bit to The Boys season 4, but not too much. However, Gen V season 2 is a must-watch before The Boys season 5, otherwise you'll definitely be confused. So I suggest you do watch Gen V. (Also because it's a good show, not just because it's "homework" for The Boys. 😉) P.S.: I'm just as surprised as you that your The Boys reactions don't get more views. Not only are they obviously great reactions, but The Boys is extremely popular and successful, and literally THE perfect show for reaction videos, cause of the shock value. Very strange.

It sucks because Gen V does have a lot of fun and interesting character's that would be great for you to react to. I feel like they will explain some of the crossover in the boys because I am sure not everyone watches gen v so i don't think you will be confused if you don't watch in between season's. Also when season 5 of the boys drop maybe that will help the youtube views? Regardless i think you should still watch it on your own if you can't react to it.

For your own enjoyment and to save any frustration with s4 definitely watch em between seasons imo. Totally understandable not to react but as i said before it is not required but not watching will make boys 4 worse. Also gen v very up your alley I suspect!

while you can kinda, somewhat-ish watch Boys S4 without having watched Gen V S1 beforehand, S4 of The boys will spoil major parts of Gen V S1 (basically the entire ending of the first season), so I'd *heavily* recommend going the binge route as to not lessen your enjoyment of Gen V

As for seeing a reaction to Gen V: I know some reactors occasionally do like react streams where they basically just turn on the camera, watch some stuff live and at best upload the unedited VOD of the stream to make them easy to do and not take away from proper slots in the show rotation - would that be something you could see as an option? Just cause I know that the Gen V fans like myself would definitely still show up for that!

agree with everyone else, definitely watch it in between seasons of the boys, even if you don't react to it (it's really good)
