Hey guys and welcome to Derry Girls! After that devastating Dark finale i needed to watch something fun and boy is this show hilarious and unhinged in the best way possible. Had such a good time watching these first three episodes and can't wait to see how much crazier this show will get. Hope you enjoy the reaction :)

Yay, so excited for this, I love this series. It's set in the 90s (I don't think they ever specify which year) and I really recommend you reading up a little bit about The Troubles to understand the setting, you can just skim the wikipedia page or something but it will really help you to have at least a basic idea of the conflict that was going on at the time as it's an important part of the series. Looking forward to more :)

Ahh what an amazing surprise! If you did announce you’d be doing this show, I missed it. So happy to see this one on your list, can’t wait for more

I love this show and i love Irish history. I'm a 90s teen and it was such a different experience for me in mainland Europe. I've only been to Northern Ireland twice but not after this show aired so I haven't seen its mural in Derry. If you're interested in learning more I recommend "Making sense of the Troubles" about the Troubles in general or "Divided Cities" about Belfast specifically. And Foster's "Modern Ireland" on Irish history. ETA: talking about Derry vs Londonderry just a couple of months ago there was an incident with a DUP MP getting offended when the visiting President of Ireland called it Derry and not Londonderry. It's still a very sensitive topic and a politically charged place. And the conversation about Good Friday Agreement reappearing with the idiocy of Brexit.
