Aquafina

Made my day! Much appreciated

Isaac Dominguez

Omg yes!!! I thought you were ignoring us 🥹. You are the man! Double drop king!!

Jinchuriki87

Plus ultra Kenny! I figured there was a busy component to it... Don't think I've ever seen SO many people ask for a double drop and you NOT provide one haha Hope all is well on your end, we appreciate it!!!

Tyler Owens

LETS GO!! I just want to say I am stuck recovering from ACL reconstruction surgery on Friday and was praying y’all dropped this episode. THANK YOU, seriously this kind of shit is why I stayed subbed, y’all are the best.

Jake Clerico

You're the best Kenny! I saw this episode when I was going through a really tough time. I knew what was coming from the Manga, but I just wasn't ready. The scene with Bakugo destroyed me. I was full on sobbing, just completely wrecked. This episode is just too good.

Valeri

one of my favorite episodes on my birthday!! :') thank you for the double upload!!

HBelmont 24

Holy crap, he did it! I would've been satisfied waiting, but thanks man.

HBelmont 24

This episode has one of the hardest-hitting You Say Run moments, I'd say.

HBelmont 24

Hope you get to feeling better

HBelmont 24

Deku: "You need to move out of my way, before I move you myself."

yani

I love the reflection from when bakugo was saved by the flying sled plan, with deku knowing to send kyroshima to reach out, and bakugo knowing to send ida to reach out

Saiyasha

Let's friggin GOOOOO!!!

Natsu_Graeme

Aww made my day! Was exited enough just knowing this episode was next 😁 can't wait to see the next episode now.

Saiyasha

Yes, time for my Accountability kink from Bakugo!!! His apology is everything to me. Just... try to look back on the first few episodes. Look how effing _far_ this boy has come in such a short amount of time. Also, it will never get old that Todoroki took "Stop him by all means" to also mean concussions were totally fair game. That Ice wall was _personal_

Amity Harris

love the 'professional Yapper' sweater

gabriella moda

Thank you so much for the double upload You guys are the best !!!!!

Kaleb

YESSSS

Kaleb

Still think a double upload on sat would have been cooler but still so hyped

HBelmont 24

So I guess y'all missed what Mineta said to Deku? 🤨 Look to 14:35 to see what I mean. 🤣

HBelmont 24

This episode shows why I think Class 1-A is one of the best ensemble casts in anime, maybe even fiction. EVERYONE had a connection to the main character and had their own spin on why he should come back.

Joe Duncan

I love you guys reaction

Gestrid

I really love two specific moments in this episode: First, Iida. Back in S2, after Iida, Deku, and Todoroki fought Stain, Iida vowed that he would not use the name Ingenium until he could call himself a true hero. This is the first time he's used that name since then. ---- Second, Bakugo. Kenny mentioned that Bakugo called "Midoriya" instead of "Deku". At the beginning of the series, Bakugo was calling Midoriya "Deku" because it sounds like the Japanese word for "someone who can't do anything", "dekunobu". Because Japanese characters can be read multiple ways, the first part of the name "Izuku", specifically "Izu", used a character that could also be read as "De". Putting the two together gives you "Deku". (As an aside, Ochaco later points out in an early S1 episode that she likes the name "Deku" because it sounds like the Japanese word for "I can do it", "dekiru", which is why Midoriya uses "Deku" as his hero name.) Kacchan calling Midoriya "Izuku" is extremely significant because it conveys that Bakugo doesn't see Midoriya as a useless person anymore. In fact, like he said in his speech, he believes Midoriya is and always has been ahead of him. This is him acknowledging and confessing his own weakness and apologizing to Midoriya for all those years he bullied him. Even now, rewatching that scene and knowing the significance of Bakugo uses Midoriya's real name still makes me cry.

seeing this season wrap up and it being close to the end where kenny can also give in depth answers to the questions along with Montana without having to hold back for spoiler purposes makes me so excited for their season 7 reaction I can't wait to see them both be able to go crazy with the post ep discussions

James S

Thanks for the double upload. I needed a good cry 😭 “Meddling when you don’t need to is the essence of a hero.”

Gestrid

One more thing: I also love how, much like THAT episode of Attack on Titan, this episode barely uses any music. For the most part, it uses nothing more than "ambient" music that you can barely hear above the sound of the rain. Until You Say Run starts. You think You Say Run is playing because Deku is breaking free of the ice. But then it keeps going. Then you realize it's playing NOT for Deku but for his friends, especially Iida, who are RUNNING towards him to save him. This episode's LACK of OST is god-tier.

chris

i really do enjoy the depth in each of them

HBelmont 24

Sorry, what episode of AoT?

Gestrid

"Midnight Sun".

Braden Jackson

Thank you for the double upload Ive had a situation and seeing 1A’s care really is uplifting

Eric C

this is another moment i'd been waiting for since you guys started S6

Jinchuriki87

Hope your recovery goes well!

Juan Solo

Happy Birthday! 🥳🎂

Jinchuriki87

Montana held it together better than I anticipated! Not entirely surprising that Kenny was the more emotional one, especially given the context you added. I can't express my excitement to watch y'all both go in blind to s7...it's going to be glorious (and like s2 of JJK, a literal roller coaster haha)

Amity Harris

Watch season 7 right now and I just keep thinking, “Montana and Kenny are not ready for this.”

yob

"I always forget french guys name sorry guys" lol

Eric Justice

I’m very appreciative of the double drop. Selfishly, I kinda wish it had been episodes 23 & 24 that got dropped together. When I sit down to watch them, that’s where I make sure I always go back to back. But that’s not a criticism at all.

Eric Justice

One thing I don’t see called out much. The move they used to catch Deku at the end is very similar to his own plan when they rescued Bakugo a few seasons back, just with a few more Quirks to enhance it.

awildjord

the way i burst into tears when bakugo called deku izuku on my first watch and the way i still do 😀

Babybear47

Damn the tears bro I hate but love it... Ugh

Babybear47

Montana's half right on the last question but just baritoldting close to the end of the season

Babybear47

Sorry bad joke lol but hey I thought it was funny!

Karma

The showing of deku and bakugo as kids talking as it progressed through the time at ua was a reference to Naruto in the final battle against Sasuke Naruto and him flashed from kids until the moment they clashed with a final beautiful attack

Adam Lantz

Thank you so much for this and all of the previous double uploads! We know you've been working so hard lately and we appreciate it!

zay collins

Didn't see it was a double upload then got a great surprise awesome! Also i agree with Montana using I am here is biting he needs a twist on it lol

Ragnarok

Oh thank god. I wasnt gonna be able to wait.

Ashlee

OMG WHAT AN AWESOME SURPRISE !!! EEEEE SO EXCITED ^^

Stache King

Hooo boy, next week is going to be fun.😁

Simone Johnson

Bakugo and Deku have the deepest relationship in the show even people ship them but regardless their bond isn’t something to be overlooked

Simone Johnson

Bakugo did the most and has the most impact on Deku that day

Kylie Robbins

WAIT NO I MEANT DOUBLE UPDATE OF GHIS ONE AND THE NEXT ONE TOMORROW AWH CRAP. Welp, HELL YEAH WE’RE HERE FOLKS

Eric Justice

Honestly, I think the fandom puts more into that than what it actually is. If people want to interpret it as some sort of romantic confession, I’m not gonna judge them, but I just don’t agree with that assessment.

Eric Justice

Nah, he knew what he was doing. Because he spent his childhood specifically being trained with the goal of surpassing All Might, I’d be willing he knows the capabilities almost as much as Deku (and could know more than Bakugo regardless of his discussion with All Might and Deku). He knew Midoriya would bust through it without much harm.

HBelmont 24

I'm not saying I do. I just though they would have SOME kind of reaction. I heard it was a mistranslation of the dub, anyway.

Ethan Brown

Bakugo really, genuinely has some of the best writing in anime I feel. Just... the growth of his character and the vulnerability gets me every time. :')

Sean PaulT60

26:31 In the words of Megumin from Konosuba, "Can I blow em' up? I wanna blow em' up."

Slujan2

Completely irrelevant, but I just saw Chrissy Costanza in concert last week, and she performed part of the song that she sang as Jiro from the end of season 5. It was a blast!

KaladinStormLight

You could even say they are "explosive" for each other and they "smash" together very well and that they would "Plus Ultra" with each other

Joseph

Didn't notice the double drop and had a chaotic week so didn't get to get this together until now but, just wanted to drop in a little bit of storytelling that unfortunately didn't make it into the Dub. It's a small nuance they could have never known was going to come together the way it did but it's beautiful to me and I think you would appreciate it. Way back in season 2 we see Iida talk to his older brother Tensei (also Iida yes but simplicity!) about why he became a hero and Tensei talks about people who help others being the coolest and brings up the example of someone working at a service desk and helping a lost child. In the Dub Iida asks why he doesn't join the police to help but in the original Japanese he asks why he doesn't work at a service desk to help lost children and he's told he's taking things too literally. Which even when he becomes older is something he still does. He follows the exact parameters of the entrance exam, he only considers things that he's TOLD to and is approaching Hero work as a profession and not a selfless calling the way Deku does, which of course is understandable given society. Hero work IS a profession but it's a perception we know is flawed and he realizes too as time passes. But, that conversation with his brother comes up again, and that PARTICULAR phrase is repeated not just in flashbacks and such throughout the series . Such as in the class 1-A vs 1-B arc when he grabs Todoroki that's one of the lines he thinks of when he decides to prioritize rescue. In THIS episode when Deku tells Iida to let go instead of saying he'll always race to Deku after the whole "challenge you" bit he responds "I won't let go! I'll come running no matter where to take the hand of a lost child. I'm Ingenium! Meddling when you don't need to...is the essence of being a hero right?" So yes, the particular mission is very much about getting Deku but I also think having those two sentiments back to back shows us Iida has internalized EXACTLY who he wants to be. He's synthesized the inspiration he initially got from his brother with the philosophy he got from Deku to fully form his understanding of what it means to BE Ingenium, the name he inherited from his older brother. THAT'S his identity. And I also think it's hilarious and beautiful that it really IS literal this time. His mission was to "take the hand of a lost child". Sure, Iida is basically the same age as Deku but he is undeniably a lost child and Iida along with the rest of class 1-A have come to take him home. There's just so many BEAUTIFUL layers to how those two lines coming together work with all the set up they had over the years and I think you deserved to know just how good it was.

Kraish

omg thank you, eyes teared up reading this. so good to know other people see the things i do and feel the same way

Terry Johnson

So that point that Uraraka made at the end, who helps the heros when they need to be saved , for that reason read Heroes in Crisis. It's a DC mental health analysis Montana would go mad for it

Charley Cox

Man I loved that last bit of banter haha, I bloody love you two

Marco Garcia

Bakugo, Zuko, and Thorfin are some of the best examples of God tier Writing & character development.
