Watching this Never gets easier

Cuddlydash

Yall will fuckin love kaiju number 8 has mega attack on titan vibes you’ll see as soon as u watch the first three episodes

Ryzan

This is what I’ve been waiting for😭

BLUEMONKEY18

Fun Fact: All of the dead characters have “graves” in the game with little notes all written by Lucy. Night City isn’t a place for happy endings. A great video I watched about David talked about how his biggest tragedy is that he’s always trying to live someone else’s dream, unable to look at what he wants and what’s in front of him. His mom wanted him to get to the top and he did. Maine wanted to run his crew, and David picked up after him. Lucy wanted to go to the moon, and he got her there. But none of those were actually what they wanted. If only David could have slowed down and realized that.

HBelmont67

Nah, this is next to nothing like AOT. Both are good, but VASTLY different.

HBelmont67

Nothing like watching some more reactors get their hearts broken to start my birthday. 🥲

HBelmont67

Man, to top off this tragic ending, they also have THAT MHA episode on the way . . .

BLUEMONKEY18

Also you stopped it early but the outro is DEVESTATING after this episode with the lines of the song “forgive me for letting you down”

ethos_null

Why do we do this to ourselves???

HBelmont67

Watching David flash though is memories and the events of the show is tragic, but also interesting. I mean, he got to take out an AV after one left him and his mom for dead.

BLUEMONKEY18

Fun info in Night City Legends. There are a number of characters in the lore that are ultimate extremes. Adam Smasher being fully chrome (except maybe parts of his brain) but also his opposite Morgan Blackhand who is equally as badass with minimal chrome (he has his iconic cyberware black arm, some neural and optical enhancements). You also have Alt Cunningham who is an amazing netrunner who ends up in the net as a ghost in the machine being a person that is fully digital. Bartmoss who is the ultimate hacker of cyberpunk who crashed the global net but was physically frail and only had hacking.

Kaleb

David didnt stop to consider lucys dream had changed, her dream wasnt just to go to the moon anymore, it was to go to the moon with david...

Ramon Fax!

Play Cyberpunk 2077 so you can kill Adam Smasher! Get vengeance for David and Rebecca.

HBelmont67

Dude, Adam Smasher not giving a CRAP about Faraday is probably the funniest bit in the show. 🤣🤣🤣 "Hurry, kill the boy!" "Who the f*** are you?"

HBelmont67

BECCAAAAAA! NOOOOO!!

Azetherion

“A happy ending? For guys like us? Wrong city, wrong people.”

Kyle MacDonald

I'm about two episodes in myself and it feels like if Attack on Titan had the tone of Fullmetal Alchemist.

HBelmont67

🎶 I couldn't wait for you to come and clear the cupboard 🎶

HBelmont67

How could you not bring up our boy Keanu Reev- I mean Johnny Silverhand?

Chandman

There is a music video. It's also really good I would recommend watching it . It's called "Let you down"

Jackson Ramond

There are no happy endings in night city

yani

Love a cyberpunk 2077 playthrough

HBelmont67

You referring to Sarcastic Chorus?

Kristopher Sy

This was a good show, and an excellent tragedy. Also RIPs in the chat for Rebecca for being the realest one, being there for David all the way to the end

HBelmont67

There's a side mission where you can get David's jacket. You can even chat with Falco beforehand!

Kristopher Sy

What makes it funnier is the fact that it was a legitimate question

Orion Blue

"Are you guys ok" is the best question ever asked

mantis toboggan

Cyberpunk game is AMAZING NOW! The expansion is a top 5 game of all time for me.

Vextipher

The only good thing is the Becca lives cope artwork people made. Cybercope is real for me.

BojacksReacts

This, 86,aot, are were all beautiful depressions. Idk why I push myself through the rewatches😭

Feranrogax

Aint no Happy Endings in Night City.

Jimmy

Would love yall to react to Promised Neverland S1 after Kaiju!

H-Bomb 24
>>156579718

Why does everyone keep suggesting that? You know they'll have to go into season two, and promptly get disappointed.

BLUEMONKEY18

And you can meet the sister of the main character in the music video in the game!

BLUEMONKEY18

Because they need to experience him in the game!

BLUEMONKEY18

I think so! It was a channel I hadn’t watched before

Kingmakaii

Yes feel how we all felt when we watched this when it first came out straight pain and depression 😭

Rob Carlstrom

Would love a cyberpunk play though. Great game. Just remember "there are no happy endings in night city"

Digital Alikin

Even at the end David's dream was only for others to reach theirs he never planned for himself to live thru it

Eddy

Not sure if you ever watched the end credits, but I'm pretty sure that's Lucy just after Falco drops her off before she goes to the moon.

Wolffe5989

So.. Get away Another way to feel what you didn’t want yourself to know And let yourself go You know you didn’t lose your self control Let’s start at the rainbow Turn away Another way to be where you didn’t want yourself to go Let yourself go Is that a compromise

Shawn Allen

Yay share the trauma with us. Now you too can cry whenever you hear that damn song, man this show is peak, but traumatizing. Also yeah please stream it both of you!

Vonium

Fun fact: Adam smashers empathy score in the tabletop game is "yeah right..." He only goes on missions where collateral damage is specifically allowed. He's basically a functional cyber psycho. He was someone who was insane before chrome, he had no humanity to lose.

Keyblade

I gave it a pass for a really long time, especially since the release was so awful, and it wasn't really on my priority list, but I heared after all these years, it is now in a very good state. The show actually raised my interest in the game, so I finally decided to buy it now after this reaction. It is actually on sale right now too.

Juan Solo

Yep, ever since episode 2 the credits show Lucy grieving David and the others. 😭

D Gai

there are no happy endings in night city

Ebronics

Yeah I'm still triggered when I listen to the main song.

Erin Ryan

Capitalism is probably the reason they launched the game unfinished lol

Juan Solo

The game is definitely worth playing now, and it's expansion Phantom Liberty is such a great addition.

HBelmont67

Pretty sure that's true 😪

Juan Solo

Faraday thinking he was hot shit for the entire show, only for Adam Smasher himself to give him a reality check. The bastard was nothing more than another number on NC's daily casualty count.

Juan Solo

Beauty in tragedy, I guess.

Ebronics

Glad they are doing frueren, cuz they need that pallet cleansing

ssgutd

We live in a society

Juan Solo

Happy Birthday! 🥳🧁

Ebronics

What i loved/hatred about how she went out is there really was no other way. She's a ride until I die character she wasn't gonna let nothing stop her from being there by David's side, nothing but death

Thomas Tso III

Idk if someone said something already but all the episode names are the names of actual songs too, most of the missions in the game are songs as well

Juan Solo

In the game, you can find/wear David's jacket. You can also find Rebecca's iconic shotgun, Guts, where it was dropped in Corpo Plaza when she died. A few characters who had minor roles/cameos in the show do appear in 2077. Also, one of Smasher's last lines to David connects directly to the game's main story, which is a nice reference.

Vonium

I've seen lots of reactors watch this episode and cry a lot. But seeing Montana slowly deflate into the chair and turn into the dark Mr Incredible meme hit the hardest. I love this show because it aims to explore the deep facets of sadness and loss. Finding silver linings like Lucy getting to the moon has helped me in my real life find and hold onto good things when in a dark place. It kinda served as emotional "practice" for me

Pastel

This is such a perfectly funny description of how sad she gets over the ep

L.C.

Yep. Its depressing af cause you know Lucy wanted David to be there with her when she got to make her dream of going to the moon and it isn't the same thing when she doesn't have him by her side. On top of that Rebecca deserved so much better. She got really screwed over.

L.C.

They launched a game unfinished because all of these game studios in America suck ass and don't do games worth a shit anymore. All terrible and disappointing and try to prioritize money over everything else. Tired of these lame ass game and entertainment studios. Its why everyone watches anime and plays games made in Japan or Korea.

MaSeshield9277

Fun fact my friend and I started watching the show one night and we decided to keep watching it because I thought it was sick as fuck he had watched it before I had not so we binged it all in one night and then I went to bed sobbing

PKKite

Bro they are a European studio so you clearly have no idea what your talking about lol

Otaku Karasu

In the game/show the bar called the afterlife does drinks with names of legendary characters in, one of them David's named after the Martinez which is a carbonated drink

Mexican rice

Don’t be sad it’s over, smile because it happened. 🙂

Lucas Barros

Don't be sad it's over, cry because it happened 😭

Kristopher Sy

That's what makes Cyberpunk Edgerunners such a great tragedy.

Alejandro

Hope you guys react to the ed music video. It shows what happened to the netrunner before kiwi and lucy.

no u uwu

Fun fact - Rebecca was almost cut from this anime but the creators really really pushed to make sure she stayed. This anime wouldn’t be anywhere near as good as it is without Rebecca. I’m not crying you’re crying!! Fuck, this episode is the best and the worst man.

HBelmont67

The purple and green glow on David and Lucy's faces, just like their first kiss. 💚💜😭😭

HBelmont67

The way Smasher physically RIPPED the hack out if his head is so metal. From what I hear (haven't gotten that far in the game yet), Adam Smasher in this episode is more in line with how he's meant to be in the game.

HBelmont67

Seriously. And that show came AFTER they already watched the Shibuya arc of JJK. They must be DRAINED emotionally. 😰😰

HBelmont67

The fact that the opening sequence had been telling us how this story would play out this whole time. 😢

HBelmont67

I recommend y'all go look up Ange's cover of "I Really Wanna Stay at a your House" from the YouTube channel Carlie and Ange. 🎸

HBelmont67

There won't be a second season of Edgerunners, Kenny. Just like there won't be another season of Arcane. You're that they'll be set in the same universes and likely made by the same people, but they'll be their own things.

Phantom Egg

Welcome to the club of people haunted by THAT song when you catch it on TikTok etc. Instant tears.

Lucas Barros

I mean, that's exactly what he said xD

HBelmont67

And yet he still called it Edgerunners season two

Eric C

the way "I Really Wanna Stay At Your House" on the in-game radio hits SO DIFFERENT if you played the game before this show versus after this show...

Reaper88

Yes feel the pain!!!!! 😂😂😂…jk but man I felt hollow for like a solid 2 weeks after this so….thanks studio trigger 😂🥲😭

dannydarko27

Not many pick up that the Op to this series finishes with David's head being shot. It's a major spoiler but I'm glad it's a detail mostly gone unnoticed, or if noticed people think it's a metaphor. The city was always gonna end him it was just its greatest legend that pulled the trigger. Adam Smasher is also a boss in the game which takes place about a year after this series.

HBelmont67

Just so you know when you start Kaiju No. 8, there's a post credits scene in episode one.

Purkey

Really cool thing about Smasher is that he *is* a Cyberpsycho, just a high-functioning one. It’s not delved into in the show or the game really, but in the TTRPG, cyberpsychosis is explained and treated as a mental disorder that’s fueled partly by trauma and also by a lack of empathy for others and even yourself as a result of seeing bodies as disposable parts. It’s telling that in the TTRPG, the means for staving off cyberpsychosis is going to therapy lol.

Angel T

Y'all need to check out the music video for cyberpunk edgerunners. Let you down

Timothy Heck

I’d love to see you play the game!

Mexican rice

“Wrong city, Wrong people.”

cryptc

yeah it's a prequel, and tells its whole own story, with many familiar characters... very beautiful

cryptc

Comment on the timeline of Cyberpunk regarding our world and how far off we are, the timeline splits in the 1980'es somewhere, with the original rulebook for the TTRPG coming out in 1988 (where the game takes place in 2013).

KagerouSangd

In the game there are multiple gravestones for the Edgerunner characters. For people who haven't seen them or don't have the game. Rebecca: I regret not finishing our conversation. Pilar, Dorio, and Maine: You were the only family I ever had. Kiwi: You taught me to never trust anyone in NC. David Martinez: You didn't take me to the moon, but you were there with me. Gloria Martinez: You were right. David reached the top Arasaka Tower.

Graham

A year from David’s death, a cyberpunk known only as V will blow Adam Smasher’s head off with Rebecca’s shotgun. Yo Kenny, try poking around the bushes in Arasaka Plaza when you get there in the game, there’s a cool surprise near some meditating dudes that you’d never find otherwise.

Graham

@LC “fuck your capitalist critique and materialist analyst! The game sucked because American game studios suck because all they want is money!” Brother, you are hilarious. I bet you have opinions about Aloy not wearing enough makeup or whatever. 😂

Graham

What’s so fucked is we already live in a cyberpunk dystopia but it’s the absolute lamest possible version of one. We don’t even need chrome to be just as fucked, we’ve already got deadly weapons all over the place and a fractured society that isolates people and destroys mental health as a matter of course. Who needs cyber-psychos when we’ve got 500+ mass shootings a year? All the same problems and we don’t even get sick fuckin’ brain-dances so I can go deep sea diving and spelunking without dying of fear.

H-Bomb 24
>>156593657

Nah, I'd critique Aloy on . . . something else. Or rather, what the game has her do.

HBelmont67

Am I heartless if hearing it in-game never made me emotional?

HBelmont67

Found it. I intend to put it to good use.

Eric C

coming back to this to say that i recently started a new playthrough of CP2077 (since i last played before they made the huge updates that changed everything, as well as the DLC) and i knew that they put some Edgerunners content in there, including grave memorials at the cemetery in the game. went to go find it and did...right as i get to David's....the in-game radio started playing I Really Wanna Stay At Your House. ain't no way this game did this to me

LowHorizon

Dude Rebecca was so fucking unnecessary. Like what was the point. If anyone deserved to fucking live it was her

heyfunny

I hope everyone had thier tissues ready once again,.....

cade-carter

@9:00 what do you mean what happened? Theyre racing through the city?????????????????????? Of course its real

Michael

Guys, you really need to react to music inspired by anime you watch.

HBelmont67

You mean Rebecca's DEATH was unnecessary, right?

HBelmont67

I like to think the OP depicts Lucy RIGHT after the events of this episode, before she went to the moon. 😭

HBelmont67

You gotta be kidding me 🤣

HBelmont67

That's almost hilarious

HBelmont67

I dunno why, but Gloria's hit different to me. I'm genuinely curious if Lucy ever met her while dealing with Maine's crew.

Madara_Uchiha_2022

This also happened to me, when I was wearing David’s Jacket and having Rebecca’s shotgun and Lucy’s Mono Wire, I just broke down in tears lol.

Taithos

Same, I think it's time for another playthrough.

Taithos

I guess I was really lucky because I had played the game day 1 on Xbox one x and I didn't have any problems playing it. Cyberpunk 2077 is definitely in my top 3 for favorite games.
