OH MY GOD LETS GOOOO

Kristopher Sy

Fun fact the Invincible who was fighting the wolf man hero was actually supposed to be fighting Spawn since Spawn and Invincible are in the same universe. But they couldn't bring him into the show due to reasons too long for me to type here. Also the Glenn vs Negan Run back is crazy

Jarick Richardson

The blind guy is not mark that’s best tiger he just looks like mark

VVenture

Kenny, you calling out the Title Cards in literally episode 1 of this season possibly being a hint towards Invincibles from other universes KILLED ME when you said it. I’ve been waiting for your vindication ever since 😂

Jarick Richardson

There no good marks our invincible is the only good one

SWTobito

The guy who looked like a Mark with a blindfold on is the hero Best Tiger. He's not an alternate Mark, but he's still an absolute badass. Dude isn't even blind or anything, he's just wearing the blindfold for the challenge of it.

Letts React

So odd that the gun guy looked SO much like mark haha

Braden Jackson

That’s best tiger he has his own comic I believe also fun fact he wears the blindfold just to challenge himself

HBelmont67

"The name's Rex-Splode. Remember it." 💥 💥 💥

Braden Jackson

Angstrom survived through a combination of being enhanced and having his entire back side be brains so he can still live and function with some getting hurt

KrakenKing

Best Tiger is not a Mark 😭

ChristianK

The “Robot Man” is actually a separate really bad ass superhero from a different comic called TECH JACKET

KallaTheWatcher

If anything every episode after 3 has been proving Cecil's point From the using of criminals for the greater good as shown with Darkwing, Stone man (i forgot his name), Saint Claire (hopefully I spelled that right), and so on. I like that past events have shown Mark being a hypocrite by his own standards by his own actions as well. When he tries to tell Oliver that killing is wrong and when he tries to lecture Cecil that it's morally wrong to work with criminals despite Mark himself, working with his own father (who has committed an atrocity) to try and stop the Viltramites last season.

Indifferent Denji

Im not the crazy one in thinking that eves mom isnt even bad? She was pretty normal with mark and is fine with her powers unless im missing something? Shes mostly just a overly worried parent which I mean if my child was fighting aliens in space every other week id be terrified to the point of it being annoying too. Id say its her dad whos just the pos and the mom just sorta goes along with it cause leaving someone of so long even if he is a jerk cant be easy. And i think if mark didnt know she had powers in THIS situation where eves literal life was on the line and not to mention theyre in one of cecils special hospitals is understandable.

HBelmont67

Walking Dead fans at the end: "It's payback time . . ."

Letts React

He looks SO MUCH LIKE HIM plus with no eyes kinda hard to place haha

HBelmont67

YEEEEAAAAHHH, Vox's Machina's next!!! 🥳🥳🥳 This is gonna be AWESOME.

HBelmont67

Flaxxan-Mark kinda reminds me Iida from My Hero with that white armor.

Bob Loblaw

Thank God for Cecils machinations or everyone would have been worse off. Probably dead.

Braden Jackson

Yea the invincible war clarifies mark and Cecil to each other it shows that Cecil was over paranoid and a bit to aggressive towards our mark and marks sees exactly why Cecil needs the help of people like Darkwing and Sinclair because 4 other invincibles would be out there for another day

HBelmont67

100%. Like it or not, those Reanimen have been paying off.

KrakenKing

Immortal gets the W, hell yeah

HBelmont67

Him saying that to SPAWN of all people hits way harder.

HBelmont67

Them picking up on the death flags for Rex made it hurt more. 😣

Suplee215

Her problem is the problem with neutrality. It's complicated because she seems to be a victim of abuse as well but her inaction and trying to just keep the peace between Eve and her father does add to the abuse Eve got. Again it's complicated but at some point accepting the status quo and staying silent about it does lead to the bad stuff.

HBelmont67

"Swearing doesn't make you cool." Amen, Omni-Mark. Amen.

Suplee215

Powerplex is not well. He been using Invincible as a scapegoats for a long time and is becoming more and more irrational about it. It's a common response to grief but certainly one that he needs to work through and hasn't did. His wife enabling it and having it herself certainly allowed it to grow unchecked for over a year. And they just been piling the grief on for him in the last 2 episodes. I can see him eventually becoming a hero who doesn't need to be kept in prison but right now it's just unsafe to have him free. I'm trying to find a way to say this that isn't just blunt but he really needs trauma therapy to overcome this.

Lyrical Kell of Music

Super sad fact, the mark saying he missed William in the convo above the house is confirmed to be gay, so they were probably dating D:

HBelmont67

That being said, the way Hooded Mark said, "You're f***ed, dude" was really funny.

Braden Jackson

They were a subtle as a brick this episode and had me on my heels until it happened I miss him 😔

Kristopher Sy

Funny think is that Spawn is immortal and can only kill him through holy weaponry, but even then he probably just hurt him bad enough where he looked pretty dead at the time.

Braden Jackson

Shame that the mark destroyed the sound devices otherwise they would have been a big help

Daran Tung

Theyre reusing old assets to save budget for mark v. conquest. The baby from the family Oliver saves is baby eve from the atom eve special.

Braden Jackson

Ain’t no way someone tried defending eves dad

Cosmic Youth

I thought a lot of the conversation about Mark and Cecils relationship was constructive, I know a lot of people got heated but it doesn't feel great to tune in to a new episode and be made fun of for having the opposite position.

Lyrical Kell of Music

Nah, Cecil is still right, and this episode showed the mark was just arguing over emotions while Cecil is taking action to make sure they survive. Cecil didn’t even bring up the fact about working together but mark still shoves past him and says they aren’t working together. Cecil even tried to extend an olive branch when the WORLD WAS BASICALLY LEVELED and mark still refused because the “principles” he sticks by so clearly. Like not killing, (ignoring the fact he was about to kill angstrom), and never working with criminals,(ignoring when he went to Thaxa and helped his father, who killed thousands when trying to take over the planet and not throwing Oliver in prison for murdering 2 people), Mark said he was never going to work with Cecil again, but was just fine taking Eve to the government hospital and had absolutely no problem when the reanimate bought mark time to save Eve. Or allowing Cecil to teleport him to angstrom, that’s some teamwork but didn’t mark say he would never work for Cecil again? That’s odd. Kinda seems like mark only “cares” about his “principals” when they are a few degrees separated from himself, but when it’s personal oh no that’s “different”. Or maybe that’s all my imagination right ? Of course it is

Erin Ryan

Mark will never know peace

HBelmont67

I agree with everything you just said. Mark IS a hypocrite and is only TRULY "heroic" when it concerns himself and those he cares about.

HBelmont67

I literally noticed the same thing. I get not having as much to work with in animation, but other shows are better at hiding it.

HBelmont67

I can't believe the writers had the gall to give Immortal and Kate a happy ending RIGHT after taking away Rex and Rae's. 😤 Are they TRYING to piss off their fans?

James Jones

In their defense, some comments went beyond “heated” and went straight to ad hominem and calling them “privileged” for being team Mark. And they’ve gotten a loooot of shit for their opinions on this and other series. I’m sorry you caught a stray but I see their frustration too.

Cosmic Youth

For sure, just stings to pay $20 a month to hear points I made repeated in a "dumb guy" voice

Bob Loblaw

I'm happy for them. Their happiness takes away from no one else's.

Neutral Nick

i would KILL for the double upload

Tyler Stone

lmao kenny clocking the gay mark

Vince92

Why would the trauma of a bunch of marks destroying the planet make people appreciate him more? If anything it’d make people more afraid of him

James Jones

That’s totally valid too.

Shay

Let's be honest, everyone thought he was for a sec😆

zzsaturn

Since Steven Yeun plays the mc this time around they decided to give the Glenn and Maggie treatment to Rex and Rae instead😭

Braden Jackson

Cause it shows just how important our invincible is and for Cecil that his fears for mark were a bit to harsh when there are others who are his worst nightmare

Letts React

Basically the idea that “damn, in other universes they had WAY WORSE Marks, we should be incredibly thankful we have a mark who defends the hell out of us nearly dying like weekly.” Only issue, which I highlight the next episode, is they don’t have a good way to know these are marks from another dimension

Letts React

We’re more commenting on people who said things like “your opinion is the peak of intellectual dishonesty,” if you were not rude we aren’t talking to you haha sorry for any offense

Patrick Liao

So, re: why does Angstrom Levy hate good Mark so much that he'd be willing to work with evil Marks, you gotta refer back to his conversation with captive Debbie back in the finale of season 2. Debbie calls Angstrom out for being mad that in this universe, this Mark turned out good and Angstrom turned out bad; Angstrom Prime (the one with powers) *is* a good guy, but his goodness is clearly driven by a sort of egoism, like he's good because he likes what being a hero feels like and what it says about his intellect and savior complex. So when our Mark turns out good and Prime Levy is merged with all the other timelines where Invincible is evil, it turns into a double whammy of Levy really fucking hating Mark because of what he did across hundreds of realities, AND good Mark being a living, breathing refutation of his (now) multiversal hatred of Mark. This Mark forces Angstrom to reconcile his image of himself as a hero who must forgive mark with the fact that he feels Mark absolutely must die for the weight of what he's done and Angstrom is not exactly super sane at this point

Braden Jackson

I glade they gave someone a happy ending especially immortal he lost his best friends in one day died protecting this world 3 times and first woke up in a completely different world he needs a break and some happiness I do wish Rex and Rae had that same ending but one shouldn’t take away from the other because they are both heroes they aren’t enemies

Braden Jackson

I agree partially but I don’t think the eve hospital thing should count against him

NasOKM

The fact Cecil can be doing everything in his power to make things right, and people still will try and find a way to make him the bad guy. Just proves people aren’t willing to change their views because they don’t want to admit they were previously wrong. Cecil was right the whole time

Braden Jackson

A lot of people me included went a bit extra on episode 2 comments so they had a right to poke fun

Braden Jackson

Yea but that could take time and now with conquest there is no sound device and very little to no reanimen to help mark

HBelmont67

Seriously, it feels like (whether intentionally or not) a good chunk of the fandom (not pointing fingers) give Mark WAY too much leeway just because he's the main character, even though he's been proven time and again to be WRONG

Bob Loblaw

Especially since nobody but the higher ups even know where those Invincibles came from. As far as the general public knows it was just 19 Invincibles and 18/19 were killing everything. If an alternate version of my wife came along and whooped my ass saying all the things she knows about me from the other universe I would still absolutely flinch when my real wife tries to touch me.

HBelmont67

Why the heck not? Mark being by her side doesn't help her recover quicker. If he'd spent that time fighting the other Marks, lives could've been saved. Heck, we saw several other individuals, like Powerplex, take down Marks SINGLEHANDEDLY, and our Marks kill count was zero.

HBelmont67

I'm honestly rooting for the guy. Beyond taking down one of the Evil Marks BY HIMSELF, we saw him helping save lives with the other heroes before crashing out and attacking our Mark, which is, frankly, an understandable response after the past few days. Just like Darkwing, I think he can be rehabilitated.

Suplee215

Going depend entirely on if he can get over his obsession. I don't think it's a reasonable response because at that point all the heroes knew their Mark helped them. He even fought alongside and saved them. As did his brother who we see join the fight. Current his scapegoating and obsession is isolated to 1 person but if Mark is out of the picture then it's likely a new scapegoat will come up. That's how it works. Until we see him take responsibility for his wife and child's death the rehabilitation isn't possible and he's a danger. I do think that's possible. Just right now he's a ticking time bomb. In addition to attacking every time he sees Mark what happens when he makes another mistake in the field? Who is going to be his scapegoat for that? Because that's his coping mechanism and it's an extremely unhealthy one. Darkwing i think was easier to rehabilitate. Mainly because he could see the error of his ways and admit to them easier. Again it's possible Power Plex does it. I can also see this show having him unable to do so.

Juan Solo

Conquest: "You can breathe, you can blink, you can cry. Hell... you're all going to be doing that."

HBelmont67

Unfortunate situation for Mark, but completely understandable 😬

HBelmont67

If you're agreeing with Omni-Mark, then you're wording was kinda weird. 😅

HBelmont67

Them reusing character models is NOT helping

HBelmont67

This guy isn't on the Guardians WHY??

NasOKM

His own selfishness (as displayed in this episode, not going back out because he wanted to be by eve’s side, even though no hero wants to be out there and not with the ones the love.) will be ignored. But Cecil prioritizing the safety of the world is seen as wrong

HBelmont67

Still though. The point is that Spawn is a much more established and well-known character than . . . whoever that wolf guy is, and the comic scene was strengthened because of it.

Ferret

Often not considered when discussing the "ours is the only good Mark" question is, do we consider that ours is the only good Mark that *survived?* The fact that Mark both refuted his dad, survived, didn't kill Omni-Man in the process, then he survived his fights on Thraxa and with Anissa against other Viltrumites, is actually insane.

Ferret

Also, very funny that you guys never put together that Masked Tiger wasn't a Mark. Like, more than one person can have that hairstyle.

HBelmont67

It's more because the design is freaking IDENTICAL. Like, I'm pretty sure they just reused Mark's character model for that guy, then just put a blindfold on top.

HBelmont67

The problem is that they're generally unlikable characters who contribute next to nothing, so seeing them get REWARDED for that just rubs me the wrong way, and I don't think I'm alone in thinking that.

Braden Jackson

Kate I could agree with but just because the immortal loses doesn’t mean he doesn’t contribute and I agree that Rex is more likable but you can very much understand why the immortal is the way he is and last thing they all all good people

HBelmont67

Oh, totally. Episode four does a great job at recontextualizing Immortal, and I don't dislike him that much anymore. Kate, on the other hand, is just the WORST, and there isn't really a concrete reason why. She's just unlikable.

Braden Jackson

That is a future immortal you can’t judge the current immortal by something he hasn’t done yet that’s the same thing as me saying you can’t like Rex because he was a dick in the past that shouldn’t reflect how they can be different than they are currently and be better than their worst moments

jolly

masked tiger was not a mark lol just same hair

jolly

cecil did nothing wrong this whole season i don’t get how people see different

Braden Jackson

I got nothing for Kate I agree that she suffers but she is way to full of herself comparing it to Rae she is a good person at times but at moments where there is a issue in her life she is extremely unlikable retiring is a good thing for both of them I wouldn’t be surprised if when we next see them after retirement they are better people

Braden Jackson

O my fault I thought you meant mark accepting Cecil’s help with Eve was a bad thing while it is extremely emotional seeing his loved one hurt like that mark really needed to help on the front lines especially since he is the only one person who could go toe to toe with the invincibles

Braden Jackson

I would rather watch a 2 hour documentary explaining why Omni man’s actions were justified in season one than read a comment on someone explaining why eves dad is a good and justified person

Braden Jackson

Yea I think he could be rehabilitated with time

Braden Jackson

Your dreams have come true can’t wait to see the series

Braden Jackson

Him wolf man and best tiger don’t work with the GDA that’s why we don’t see them often it is harder for Cecil to reach them since their independent

Braden Jackson

Yea a lot of image comic characters have their rights bought so it would be pretty costly to have all of them a good portion of hero’s we see in the show are made specifically for the show so they don’t have to spend a lot of copy right

Braden Jackson

Also wolf man has his own comic I believe

HBelmont67

That's just the thing: he's NOT. Powerplex, Tech Jacket, the Reanimen, Wolf Guy; all these people were able to take down Marks, while ours did NOTHING. Mark is not their sole savior for the coming Viltrumite invasion, and this episode proved it.

HBelmont67

That's actually possible, tho. Omni-Man has a lot more that you can talk positively about.

Letts React

He severed ties with the strongest weapon he has, sure he knew he would still protect, but I think him constantly asking mark to come back tells me he regrets losing his connection with him by attacking

Letts React

Bro it was an episode FULL of mark variety’s haha I think it’s not the craziest to assume he’s a varient

Ferret

Oh for sure, I just thought it was funny because it got y'all really caught up on "oh there are good Marks here too."

Juan Solo

From what I've heard, Wolf-Man has his own series within the Image comics universe. So really only Image fans would recognize him (along with Tech Jacket).

Juan Solo

Unless I'm mistaken, I heard that Tech Jacket is more of a space-oriented hero (like Green Lantern).

Juan Solo

Gonna be pee-pee pants city here real soon...

Juan Solo

Not to mention Darkwing taking down an Invincible variant. Mark didn't even take down one (Mohawk doesn't count since he escaped and destroyed NYC).

Juan Solo

Could be that the William variant died before Maskless Mark could confess his feelings.

Bob Loblaw

Yup all part of Cecils machinations

Juan Solo

I think Wolf-Man only managed to survive his fight, since the Invincible variant he fought was among the eight survivors. Still agree with your point though.

Juan Solo

Honestly, glad to see Immortal admit to himself that he's done enough. After what happened in episode 4, retirement really is the best thing for him. Still don't like Kate.

Daran Tung

The way he gets his suit is the same as green lantern / blue beetle

Juan Solo

Finally, glad to see you realize the significance of S3's title cards. E1: Veiled Invincible (the one prior teased Mark's new suit) E2: Mohawk E3: Omni-Mark E4: Prison Mark E5: Bulletproof E6: Flaxan Invincible E7: Sinister E8: Viltrum Mark / Conquest

Juan Solo

Different circumstances, since the Invincible War never happened in the alternate timeline (Mark went missing for 20 years). Regardless, Rex still died at some point since Rudy still changed his name.

Braden Jackson

I’m much more on Cecil’s side but in zero was possible did he do nothing wrong

Jachariah

In a medium like animation that often relies on stylized simplified designs compared to the real world, recognizable silhouettes and and features; having a character show up with an obscured face and a very strong resemblance to Mark in regard to his hair jaw and build in an episode almost entirely dedicated to the concept of alternate Marks it is ENTIRELY REASONABLE to mistake Best Tiger for an alt mark.

Juan Solo

Exactly what I've been thinking. It's impossible that the Mark we know is the only heroic one to ever exist within the multiverse. It's more likely that most heroic Marks died in their fight with Nolan (or by some other means). The villainous Marks are only the majority since they're the ones who usually survive. The tradeoff though is the evil variants are generally weaker since they were already strong enough to get what they wanted. Our Mark had to train to keep up with stronger opponents.

HBelmont67

We saw Tech Jacket fly back to Earth after beating Mustache Mark.

Skye

I’m not sure if your taking recommendations but I feel like you guys would really like Steven universe so please take it into consideration also I can’t wait for you guys to watch the last invincible episode it was really good

Erin Ryan

It seems like the Immortal felt that way. He was pissed calling them a poor imitation of Invincible

Juan Solo

Just realized that Debbie hiding out at Paul's house was pretty smart. The Mark variants wouldn't know to look for her there since their versions of Debbie never started a relationship with Paul, because she's either dead or she stayed with Nolan.

Juan Solo

From what I've heard, Kirkman himself really wants Bryan Cranston in the show. He's been offered a role every season, but he declined each time.

Juan Solo

He even sort of has Ida's haircut.

Suplee215

He did wrong depending on how what type of wrong you look at. He was morally in the wrong putting the chip in marks head and the Sinclair decision. He was wrong to attack Mark preemptively as well (even if I think you can say Mark making a move to confront him is an implied threat jts not one that justifies attacking first). Tactiliy he not only severed ties with Mark losing an ally there but also caused the guardians to split in half. If the guardians had the members who left they might have not been as badly beaten and Rex could be alive. Still kinda subjective there but having a united front with Mark and the other heroes would make fight against the invincibles a bit smoother. Being able to contact Mark and direct him to where he was needed the most could save a lot of lives. Oliver too assuming he'll have contact with him.

Juan Solo

Chances are they might update Best Tiger's character design next season (or whenever he shows up again). Multi-Paul was slightly updated after his S1 cameo.

Juan Solo

Surprised no one has pointed out how Rick was only able to protect William and himself because of Sinclair. Seems poetic how he gained strength (literally) from such a traumatic experience.

mantis toboggan

i could watch u guys rip into eve's dad all day LMAOOO

thevoidbender

There probably are. Most probably wouldn’t or did survive their encounter with omniman. So it’s probably not that there aren’t any, it’s that most die earlier in their timeline than ours.

thevoidbender

Immediately he’s like *double take* William huh?

Romeo Rodriguez

Your not entirely correct nowhere was it stated that the invincible war didn’t happen there it’s a future timeline that changed the path of current timeline mark. Seeing as Rudy still changed his name to Rex it’s likely it still did occur

HBelmont67

Oh dang. That's actually a great point.

Juan Solo

Think about it. How would the Invincible War still happen if Mark wasn't there for Angstrom to ruin his reputation? Angstrom only tried to get revenge again because Mark escaped the wasteland dimension.

Jah_Rule_95

I really don't understand why these two can't see that both Mark and Cecil were right and wrong in their confrontation. They both escalated, were both unreasonable, and both unnecessarily severed a good relationship.

HBelmont67

Montana actually made a GREAT point in the discussion about why Angstrom worked with other Marks despite hating ours. He did end up using them and screwing them over.

Juan Solo

As we saw, Angstrom knew the Mark variants would eventually turn on him, so he was prepared. His only mistake was expecting them to still listen to him after he got most of them killed. Talk about an oversized ego, it's bigger than his head.

Braden Jackson

They do understand and agree with Cecil’s methods but they believe Cecil completely messed up in dealing with a upset mark

Slurtglinger

It could be argued that Angstrom could've proceeded with the same plans and had an Invincible War even tho Mark was stuck in another dimension. but of course, its all speculation and peoples' headcanon lol

Letts React

We literally talked about how it’s all about the gray area middle ground watch the question answers 😭😭😭

HBelmont67

Angstrom didn't seem THAT inconvenienced, tbh. He'd already gotten what he wanted; all he had to do was wait for Mark to come to him. In a way, Angstrom kinda won this episode.

HBelmont67

Who would be a good pick for Cranston's voice, I wonder? Thragg? Dinosaurus? Or someone else?

HBelmont67

"You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain."

Juan Solo

Just found out that Thragg was already casted, and the voice acting for S4 is already done. So maybe Cranston? Apparently Kirkman said they got someone "amazing" to voice Thragg.

Juan Solo

I'd say its a mixed bag for both sides. Angstrom succeeded in devastating several of Earth's major cities, but he lost his freedom. He also lost an arm, which might limit his power to his remaining hand. Mark, Cecil, and the remaining heroes technically won the war, but it's a pyrrhic victory.

Erin Ryan

Its crazy to me that the whole Invincible War was one episode. If this were an anime it would be a whole arc detailing each of Marks back story and dedicating so much more time on each of the variants deaths. Its still amazing and it works perfectly here its just so different than what I'm used to

Erin Ryan

I'm just in awe of Steven Yuen

Erin Ryan

The way Paul is a better dad than Eve's dad

Devon P

I'm glad I'm not the only one who initially thought that blindfold guy was a Mark.

Braden Jackson

Eves dad could only dream of being anywhere near Paul’s level

Devon P

Also there were no other good marks fighting the evil marks. Who you thought was a good mark wearing a blindfold fighting that one evil mark was a character called "Best tiger"

HBelmont67

That honestly sounds better

blue_haruki

Fuck yes invincible war finally

blue_haruki

If the legend of vox is that guy from hazbin hotel then after that you guys should watch rick and morty or heluva boss , helluva boss is made by the same person that made hazbin hotel I'm pretty sure and rick and morth is kinda like those shows but no singing musicals and a good cartoon show with songs is Steven universe it's like gravity falls and owl house

Curtis Murphy

The amount of reactors that think the character with the guns and the blind fold (Best Tiger, I think) is a version of Mark is insane/ No shade I'm just surprised it keeps happening

Curtis Murphy

It's happened with a few reactors. It's honestly a bit funny that it keeps happening

Jinchuriki87

Wow...Yall are seriously bothered by the folks that went against yalls argument in regards to the mark/Cecil thing. You HAVE to bring it up just bc theyre talking in a hallway even though its in a completely different scenario 🤣🤣 "The horse has been beaten" yeah, when you keep bringing it up almost every episode 🤣🤣🤣

HBelmont67

THE GOOD ENDING: Forehead Mark: "You're out of s*** to explode." Rex: "I've got one . . . thing left . . ." FM: "Mm hm. And what's that?" Rex: "My costume." FM: 👁👄👁 💥💥💥 FM: 💀 Rex: "F***, that worked?! Hold on, Rae! I'm coming back! Also, I NEED a shower."

Braden Jackson

To be fair people were calling them liars and privileged so they have a right to poke fun

Jinchuriki87

I get that, seems like they were poking fun at the people making different arguments though. Not people going overboard about it.

StorytellerDave

I'm not sure I like this episode, bc I feel like this minimizes the Viltrum empire's threats. This was basically an 18 man viltrumite invasion, and Earth for all its faults managed to defend itself pretty okay. So how can we ever be afraid of a viltrumite invasion again knowing how few of them there are and how few they'll actually send here... Their only option is to make the viltrumites vastly more powerful, which is an inconsistency, cuz like, why are all these Marks so much weaker then? I feel like this episode was a mistake from an overarching plot perspective. Bringing back Angstrom feels unnecessary, you could have made this entire plot an entire season instead of 1 episode and then it would not undermine the main threat of the entire story quite as much. PS - I also feel like this episode is just in the wrong spot in this season. Why have Eve almost die and be severely wounded in this one and nothing happens, but then next ep she has the same awakening as in her special? It's kinda inconsistent that two times she gets the powerup and another time she doesn't? It'd be a lot less bad if this ep was way closer to the start of the season, so that the two situations aren't back to back.

StorytellerDave

45:23 - The only problem with that is - Mark doesn't go to the middle, he refuses to work with Cecil, it's only Cecil that moves on and is ready to accept Mark back, which just ugh...why? Writers why? Can we freaking move on? At least have Mark admit that Darkshadow died a hero or something, like c'mon have him admit even a tiny bit that he was wrong otherwise there won't be a middle ground it's 100% one-sided right now.

StorytellerDave

48:49 - I mean...he did create Angstrom. In S2 had he not been as gung-ho going in against the Maulers, Angstrom would've never been a villain so Mark and Powerplex are not wrong, it IS all Invincible's fault. Not in the way they think, but it really is unfortunately. Not that you can hold it against him, he did what he thought was right and couldn't have known what would happen due to his actions.

StorytellerDave

52:15 - Well...there is no "main one", they're all the main one is the thing. She even says so herself in season 1 after having sex with Rex - "We're all the real Kate" So yeah, she does in fact die every single time one of her clones dies, even if one of her is safe, it still sucks for all the others that die and whichever survives will remember and feel every single death. It just...ugh it must be freaking horrifying to live like that.

StorytellerDave

1:03:50 - Here's an idea - What if different Marks got their powers earlier? I think it'd have changed a lot if Mark actually got his powers like Oliver, not having the time to appreciate Earth and Humans and not having someone to stop them, like Mark being there for Oliver after he went too far with the Maulers, if that just did not happen, Oliver would turn out full evil, and that could be the case for Mark too had he gotten his powers sooner.

StorytellerDave

1:10:25 - Oh wow, you're saying Cecil was right and Mark was wrong? - jkjk

Atlas Creation

I saw u talk about the guy on yt defending him but I saw another in your Patreon comments too lmao

HBelmont67

No, not jk. Mark is SO much more in the wrong here. The whole "95% Cecil's fault, 5% Mark's" or something K & M states back in episode 2 is malarkey. You heard me! Malarkey!

HBelmont67

Seriously, Mark is SO unreasonable this season it's ridiculous. Way to make me dislike the main character so much, show.

StorytellerDave

They're clearly just teasing and so am I lol. I agree, Mark was not great this season, but whatever. Honestly neither S3 nor S2 were my favourites, I think S1 is still by far the best of Invincible.

I mean, it was established in Ep 7 that the Marks are weaker than Main Universe Mark, and our Mark still got his shit rocked by Conquest. I think that establishes that Mark is approaching a Viltrumite's power but is not there yet, despite 'killing' Conquest. He is treated like a ragdoll for the majority of the fight, and only wins because Conquest is not taking it seriously for a large part of it and Eve's OP powers. Mark, as of now, is not a fully realized Viltrumite yet, and imo it's safe to assume the alternate versions aren't either. Also, Eve's injuries in this episode and in episode 8 are not comparable. This ep her leg gets broken and she gets thrown into the ground (and she's able to soften the landing, if by a little bit). It puts her out of commission, but that was not fatal. In Ep 8, Conquest breaks her face open and stabs her through her stomach. She gets her powerup in Ep 8 because she's literally about to die. None of her injuries in Ep 7 are close to death. She gets her awakening in the special cause of the emotional trauma, not anything physical.

The problem is that's a bit of a cop out answer to this problem because those Marks clearly were more than strong enough for things even our Mark couldn't do - ex: murder Omni-Man

Darkwing who underwent severe psychological reprogramming? It's pretty easy for a brainwashed person to be what you want them to be, and Mark was never arguing it was ineffective. He argued that Cecil's deceit and use of villains, allowing them to get off scot free without properly paying for their crimes or even standing a fair trial among their peers. Not to mention these were villains Mark himself had caught, and Cecil had looked him in the eye and promised him that they were going away to prison. No shit he's mad Cecil lied, it's understandable Mark wanted to expose the truth. I'd argue it's the ideal to have heroes raise ethical concerns.

I don't agree? These aren't vilitrimites, they're Marks. They're also Marks who joined the empire willingly and so never had to work to be strong enough to take on powerful foes. That said, there were still a handful who stood above the rest. I don't really see how this cheapens the actual viltrumites. Also Eve only broke her leg here, that doesn't even come close to what happened next episode.

D B

People have trouble following nuanced opinions and tend to oversimplify them, don't worry guys. You weren't unclear or anything, it's just a psychological tendency people have 😅

StorytellerDave

One Mark literally said he killed his own father, and Mark is a viltrumite, so this IS a viltrumite invasion. Mark was able to fight other Viltrumites on Thraxa even before this season so clearly he is not so far behind other viltrumites.

StorytellerDave

I'd argue sacrificing your life for the greater good is more penance than sitting leisourly in prison. Also - No, Cecil never promised him jack about them remaining in prison, that was at best an assumption he made. The idea that Mark would be against rehabilitative justice is absurd, I mean even he himself admits that with Powerplex, when Eve tells him that he will get the help he needs, it's not like he's arguing that he shouldn't get help and should be in prison for life...

The Mark/Cecil hallway joke gave me a good chuckle. Maybe it's a dead horse, but I still enjoyed you beating it... ok phrasing it like that made me realize what an odd saying that is.

8:00 there isn't any good marks that angstrom Levi brought to this universe it's only the bad marks, and the one that looked like Mark shooting the guns is just another hero that just happens to look like Mark named best tiger

blood wolf

Nah, he wasn’t. All he accomplished with his dumb plan was a failed attempt to satisfy his need for control. It’s good that he made those bots and the sound thing, but putting it in Mark’s head and then immediately using it in their first argument was objectively a stupid decision. Plus, what exactly was his idea, really? Even if he was right and Mark was evil, he just killed their best defense against the evil aliens—so nothing he did mattered. And if he was wrong and Mark was good (something he should’ve already known), then he just destroyed Mark’s trust and the trust of half the Guardians.

StorytellerDave

Okay, let's say he doesn't use the bots or the sound, what does Mark do? Maybe he doesn't attack Cecil, so what next? Dp you think he would just leave?Maybe he just rampages through the Pentagon and takes Sinclair away. Then he doesn't have the actual best anti-viltrumite weapon that killed multiple Marks during the invasion and is set to become an even better defensive weapon using the fake Mark bodies. If Mark can just dictate global defense policy then you don't have to wait for a Viltrumite invasion, bc you're already living under one. Mark isn't the head of the GDA, he has 0 rights to dictate official policies.

Joe

They're all bad Marks. The blind guy wasn't Mark, just an Earth hero.

do you think that 1 mark being stronger than Nolan means they're all stronger than Nolan? Most of them are pretty weak and that is very clearly shown and explained in this episode, you're just making stuff up to complain about

StorytellerDave

Okay, but why are they pretty weak if they're all viltrumites, full blooded, same as Mark. They're literally alternate universe clones of Mark, their powers come from the same source as Mark's, what makes our Mark so much stronger than all the other Mark's? It is NOT explained in any way shape or for in this episode or any other episode. It's just handwaved away.
