The ice elf and caveman characters were talking about sensing jinwoos power and how it was strange that said “god” I’ll say god since the power seems out of this world they were saying how this god always favours giving humans the levelling system “power” and then mentioned “she won’t be pleased if she caught a whiff of this” Jinwoos dad also mentioned that the gates have creatures that can completely outclass S ranks

The story was never meant to be too deep or thought provoking. Its a power fantasy through and through. The manwha basically lived almost entirely on the art and fast pace of the story so the anime had to have at least partially the same level of quality in animation as the manwha did in art. And I gotta say, im happy with how S2 turned out. Hopefully the next season gets even better quality

-In the manhwa, Arising Byungu actually took until his third attempt. He had to talk him into helping them out one last time. -If you go back to when he hits level 100, and pause during the glitch, it teases where SJW needs to go in Season 3 :) -When raised, all shadows have bound loyalty, so Beru sees it as a blessing -Beru is named after French author Bernard Werber, author of "Empire of Ants" -Technicality, Kaisel is a wyvern, not a dragon. This is very much a story relevant difference. Dragons are much, MUCH different. -when the 2 humanoid guys show themselves and start talking, the Knights guild very clearly make it known that they were humanoid monsters. In the manhwa he hears him talk and says "monster speak?". Seed for thought, who else have we seen speak monster? -clearing things up, they were NOT talking about Cha. Poor usage of the word "stench" and it makes everyone think of the one person who repeatedly says "stench" all season xD. In the manha, he specifies that its the scene and smell of the dead *insects* that if "she saw it, she would be frightened" As for the questions, 39:10 funny thing about whether or not the other shadows feel loyalty or not.... ALMOST ALL OF THOSE SCENES WERE CUT FROM THE ANIME LOL. There were SO many quick little personality panels of the shadows in the manhwa that were cut from the anime. Things like Iron and Igris competing in gates to bring as many corpses to SJW as possible, knights trying to gather the essence stones from the ants on Jeju before being told that he, SJW, didnt need them and to leave them for rebuilding the island, SJW telling Tusk that if he let any of the humans get hurt he wouldnt summon him again and then Tusk giving a confident thumbs up and smirk, shadow ants eating other ant corpses and getting yelled at and then getting upset that they cant eat them. A lot of things like that

Given how the show has demonstrated that Jinwoo has been slowly losing his humanity the stronger her gets, releasing Byung-gu's shadow was a MASSIVE moment for his character, and I really appreciate it.

Also one point to Berus loyalty being genuine, is he was born into a monarchy, so serving a monarch is literally his life’s purpose (see how pissed he was the queen was killed) and importantly Beru never said he was supposed to be king just one of the strongest. So think about if from his point of view, he gets to serve someone new who is even stronger than him, he gets revived by that king, and is given a life that essentially immortal as long as jinwoo lives. Think about that, if beru just bended the knee before the final blow and pledged himself to jinwoo, that would still be massive but he could die, 1 death and it’s over. Now though, he can go all out without a care because he knows if he falls in battle he would just return to jinwoos shadow and basically immediately be back in the fight, a dream come true for a warrior looking for a master

Sorry to keep raving about Vinland Saga but when you mentioned how Solo Leveling is great for its fighting and epic moments and Frieren is great for its philosophical depth and how AOT is amazing for having both, Vinland Saga also has both which makes me even more excited lol

Now that Jinwoo has hit level 100 do you think in season 3 the chaos key he got earlier has something to do with something that happened to him earlier in season 1 hence why they showed the season 1 intro at the end of 2x12

I enjoyed both seasons of SL immensely but to be honest every other nominee deserves to win anime of the year more than it. Most of all Frieren and then Apothecary Diaries.

Season 2 was a definite improvement over season 1 in a lot of ways, but I am super worried about season 3,cuz the end of this season was already very SAO Kirito adjacent, so where tf do they go? I feel like they have to take away Jinwoos powers,otherwise this show will fall off like Heroes.

Honestly I don't like that he can even release people at all. It takes away all the weight of his decision to raise him in the first place, and then him actually doing it removes one of the very few interesting bits of the protagonist. Jinwoo has very little character as is, him committing to evil more and more would at least be something interesting that sets up stakes, cuz there really are not a lot of stakes anymore.

You're misunderstanding Cha's "smell" power it just her body over reacting to magic power. Other people have it to like the Japan S rank hunter that could make ice (he needed a gas mask). The too new characters were not necessarily talking about Cha.

I still can't help but be skeptical about beru...feels like he's laying on the "loyalty" kinda thick. But someone else made a good point it makes sense he'll be loyal because that's what he was born into. 🤷 I feel like the Conan and blue legolas (which reminds me yall need to watch LotR haha) could either be actual members of the "system" which has been leading jinwoo along...or potentially "players" like jinwoo from other worlds (which was hinted at a couple times this season) I'm genuinely curious and excited for the next season of the show to see where it goes (and tempted to read the manwha...is there a place i can read it for free by chance?)

I don't know if it's something you guys would want to do but I'd love to see your reactions to epic the musical and I'm sure a lot of others would as well. Instead of reacting just to the music you could watch the animatics. And if you're worried about copyright, the creator said he loves when people react to his musical. Its worth nothing that you you think its Cha they are referring too simply because of the "stench". Don't forget there was a Japanese hunter who was just as perceptive to smell as well. So they could be referring to someone completely different.

The problem with more and more powerful enemies coming in, is that all the supporting characters will be useless then. This season already made even the S ranks useless, which seems like a huge mistake. Jinwoo should have stayed under S rank power until way longer, cuz speedrunning to this degree limits where they can go.

I would argue Frieren has both too when it wants. They do action really wel too, keep the brains in, not just mindless flashy SFX. I hope Vinland keeps the brains and tactics the same way. I only watched one ep years ago and it felt way too flashy with the fight at the time, so I didn't continue with it. I was in the mood for something more grounded, so I watched Apothecary Diaries instead.

I know u like glazing AOT but Frieren has both sick and perfect action and philosophical meaning behind it as well. AOT has both of those things but Frieren is perfection while AOT fell off in both the manga and the anime when the timeskip happened. Its why Frieren is number 1 on the MAL website and not AOT. Even though I think MAL is a waste of referencing since its all worthless rankings for anime anyways and that site is known to be biased in certain ways but still. So far, having read both manga, Frieren is more better imo. I was very disappointed in many things back when the AOT manga had done its timeskip and that doesn't change for me. Not trying to be rude but I think its funny to combat your opinion of AOT with mine hehehe

I think they'll still be relevant by helping Jinwoo deal with the politics of his future battles. Jinwoo doesn't seem super knowledgeable when it comes to that part of the job. The JHA leader is still a threat, and there's also the possibility that America might reach out to him about his dad attacking one of their top hunters (whether to answer for his dad's crimes or try to recruit him as a power grab).

I'm thinking there has to be some kind of reincarnation/rebirth thing going on. I can't think of anyone else who they'd be referring to, but they're talking as if they already know him. Best guess is that they're definitely monarchs like Baran (the "she" the big guy refers to is likely another monarch). It can't be a coincidence that the Demon Monarch had the ability to summon an army like Jinwoo, the Shadow Monarch.

If being General Rank is why Beru can talk, then the other shadows should be able to reach that level in time, as well. Can't wait to hear Iron and Tusk again, as well as possibly hearing what Igris (and maybe Tank and Kaisel) sound like. Yeah, the last two are animals, but so is Beru.

I know that at the moment, Jinwoo doesn’t really have a way to heal other people besides with his potions. And if they’re in a situation like Hunter Cha was, it is a problem. Still though, Jinwoo doesn’t need a S-rank healer....at least not for himself. He has both his potions and his full recovery skill. And like someone else mentioned, it was a good decision for him to make, character wise. Him releasing Byung-Gyu Min’s soul shows that Jinwoo hasn’t completely lost his humanity. I mean....it would have been morally wrong for Jinwoo to keep him and his soul tethered to him forever when all the guy really wanted in life was to just retire and live in peace. I’m glad Jinwoo freed him.

I donno if someone mentioned this already, but according to a comment on another reactors video of this, they mentioned that the anime didnt include it but in the original manhwa Jinwo apparently failed to get Beru twice but got him on the third try, just like Igris! I think the idea is that since the Ice Elf, hes leveled up so much and unlike with the ice elf (where he had to use his summons along side him) he killed Beru only by himself but struggled like Igris!

One of my theories is that hunter cha is a player too just like jinwoo because why else would she says she wants to get stronger if it wasn’t actually possible. Also why is it that Jin doesn’t stink to her but every hunter does. This combined with how monsters perceive Jin differently JUST LIKE HUNTER CHA. It’s completely plausible. He doesn’t stink because he’s just like her. Her smell is heightened because she a magical beast too.

I would say to also look back at Iron, a man who was wanting to murder Jinwoo. But after being arised he is ever loyal, listening to every order he gets and doesn't show any real hatred or disgust to it. I mean, he even dragged the wyvern to him without even an order. I do believe the king talk and everything is likely an ant trait but the loyalty I think is instilled in all his soldiers no matter what and since Beru can talk we are seeing how vocal some of the loyalty is for the shadows. We'll definitely probably see more into this once other shadows get to general rank and can speak, I'm fairly sure Igris is the second highest in rank and will be next to get there, that may be in the next season too since he's been leveling up the longest and was the first strong shadow he got. That or maybe tusk is next.

I dont know why the anime did it this way because its really confusing, but at this part in the Book and manhua it says who they are. It’s the beast monarch and the frost monarch. And when they say “she’d be less than pleased if they caught a whiff of this” the beast monarch is referencing the insect monarch.

I know its pretty late but he didn't revive the demon monarch because he simply couldn't!! Demon souls can not be extracted, that's he took the wyvern's soul instead since it is not considered a demon!
