Law

Is anyone gonna tell this man that, Delilah is necromancer lol

Suplee215

I dont think its a spoiler 5o point out soemthing you miss. Not un a bad way. Your theories make sense. You were right that a voice was whispering to her about the spell. She made a deal to another entity to save Silas so now they are doing his, The Whispered One's, bidding. She pledged loyalty to him in exchange for the spell to save her husband.

Machina Monday! Woo! This episode is killer

Yuma Nanami

And her Husband is a Neck-Romancer

Shhhh!!! It was supposed to be a secret! :D

StorytellerDave

Pike cast the legendary forgotten spell called Skype.

24:30 🎶 Secret tunnel, secret tunnel, through the castle, secret secret secret secret tunnel! 🎶

HBelmont67

Why do they keep skipping the credits whenever Scanlan's singing? 😥

HBelmont67

Oh dang, I never caught the similarities between Vox Machina fighting on the Sun Tree here and fighting on the Tree of Time in Korra. Good catch, Kenny! To answer about there being a love confession, maybe you're thinking of Eska coming to save Bolin and him saying he loved her. 😂☺️

Such a good episode, the white stone arc still remains one of my favourite critical role arcs, it's the one that made me fall in love with the show and it's characters

StorytellerDave

Fun fact - There is a whole Vox Machina musical on youtube made by the youtube channel Cantata Pansophical. Unfortunately it has spoilers for season 2 and 3, but there is a song all about Pike and having to Skype in and being away from the party for too long lol. (The musical is based on Hamilton, they use the songs from that as the basis and rewrote them a bit and made custom lyrics and cast a bunch of people all around the globe as difference characters and it is really cool)

Robert Bonfante

A lot of reactors do that. Also, Amazon likes to skip to the next episode. You have to actively stop that to enjoy the credits.

This is such a good Pike episode. Pike is top tier the rest of this season (as a cleric, she's just great against undead). The spell used is Astral Projection. My understanding is that Pike wasn't yet a high enough level caster to have it (it's a 9th level spell), the astral projection was instead bestowed by the Everlight to help with the "Skyping".

They dont need to be saying "bet that was a roll" every other minute... the show changes quite a bit and the show isnt not dnd... it HK annoying

Letts React

Haha chill out just having fun as a dnd player

HBelmont67

I like how the Briarwoods' backstory was handled, in that it didn't make them sympathetic, but still understandable. Cause while all their actions are still their own, it is kinda messed up that this Whispered One manipulated Delilah when she was so emotionally vulnerable and nudged her and her dying husband on this path.

HBelmont67

You just . . . not gonna post the link?

StorytellerDave

I am generally wary of posting links bc it is usually against the rules. I dont wanna look like a phising attempt or scambot lol. You can put Cantata Pansophical into youtube and you will find the channel or I have the Vox Machina playlist here, just paste it after youtube. /playlist?list=PL39vwIwCtLi3l4J6IMV6rS2HaLCujNzRT PS - My favourites are, 08 Burn, 12 Say no to this, 13 Dear Kaylie, 24 Animus, 39 It´s Quiet in town, 45 One Last Time

HBelmont67

Thx. Also, against the rules? I've never heard anything like that. People post links on Patreon all the time, myself included

StorytellerDave

Rules of the persons channel I mean, not Patreon itself. Plus, why would you trust random links posted by strangers? That is not a safe thing to do lol. I guess Youtube should be safe enough tho, but you can never be too careful nowadays.

This is my favourite episode of this session it gets me to tear up EVERY. SINGLE. TIME! Like when Pike comes in and just fucks everything up ugh SO GOOD! I remember watching the actual campaign and Kenny you were 100% right the astral projection was a way for Pike to come in mid scene, but damn she legit jumped down into the horde of undead and used her Turn Undead (where at level 5+ turns to Destroy Undead) and immediately obliterated like 40+ undead all around her or something? And then she had a Mace of Disruption that if you deal damage to Undead and their health drops below a certain threshold it would just instantly kill them! Like ugh so goood and in the show it became so much more badass with them not having to be really confined to the rules (like her imbuing all the villagers weapons!)

TLKDesu

ok I have to point this out. Wizard's study their magic, they don't just get a book. That book, allows them to store spells, and change their readied spells easily. A warlock is one is bestowed power a seperate entity, doesn't have to be a god or a eldritch being, it can be cursed items as well. Also the best person for casting fire right now in their party would be Keyleth because we have seen her do it already and Bards aren't really known for casting elemental damage most of the time.

StorytellerDave

Yeah, the show makes a point of mentioning that the temple is a conduit for more power than an average person can normally handle, so it's not a spell she can just use any time anywhere.

Matt definitely has an affinity for creating classes related to blood. Aside from his Blood Hunter class he created the Blood Domain for clerics, and Blood Magic for Wizards

Ferret

Regarding the Vampire Ascendant thing, that's a BG3 creation, and within the lore it only exists because of the deal Cazador made with Mephistopheles. The Briarwoods' plans are something much different and much, much worse.

I think Scanlan was fully serious when he asked Pike to marry him, even if it was in the heat if the moment. 😅 Seeing her jokingly lead him on for a sec kinda hurt, ngl.

HBelmont67

Grog's incoherent rambling when he's chopping that giant down the middle is some of my favorite voice-acting in the series. 🤣🤣

Zain Cassis

The show is not doing R.A.W. D&D, and deliberate flavoring by the players and DM shift things, like vampires and wizards for example, away from the "default setting" D&D conceptualizations. You can expect things in the future will continue to deviate from the preliminary "outline ideas" of D&D.

Drake

for as into D&D you guys seem, i am truly suprised he doesnt know "the whispered one" as famous as he is xD but hey then you might be in the dark a bit longer maybe :) lucky you EDIT: as much as people spoiler it in the comments i guess you know by now ... its a shame people cant stop spoilering

demonic-myst

In the game sarenrae/ everlight sent a avatar of pike knowing the party was in danger Sarenrae is abit aloof in how she helps shell choos only when the situations dire and she cares for her followers so shell somtimes do them favors
