It’s rare for me to prefer or even like the dub. I don’t particularly hate this one, but Feitan’s speech pattern annoys me lol. TBH, I think I only like the dubs I grew up with or originally watched. Like Death Note, Naruto, DBZ and Mob Psycho are the only dubs I prefer and I watched them all dubbed before subbed.

I originally watched the JP version and I normally don't mind if its sub or dub, but that's the only thing that actively bothers me. I guess ..its supposed to make him.. more mysterious.. but it does not do the job.

that’s on purpose, if you truly love the art of HXH then you would actually like Dub more. this is because feitan isn’t fluent in the language he uses to communicate in the story. he speaks like a beginner & a child.

The English VA spoke about this in AMA. He didn't choose it, they decided it would best fit the character due to him apparently sounding like ghetto fluent Japanese viewers. He's meant to sound stilted and not fluent. Cut the guy some slack. He was severelu.bullied when the dub first came out already.

It’s easier to just say what I said, but if I wanted to be hyper-specific, I don’t like his performance in the role. Whether that be his choice or the director’s. If he was directed to perform that way, it was a mistake and that’s not on the VA. But I’m not gonna pretend to like the performance just because people bullied the VA. Same with Lily Gao as Ada. I’m not gonna pretend her performance was stellar because other people took it too far.

@critical. Feitan speaks in broken Japanese and sounds weird in the sub to, you just can’t tell becuase you don’t speak Japanese.

Kurapika's punch came unexpected that's why Uvo wasn't able to cover himself with nen. You'll see the difference when Dalzolene attacked with a sword, Uvo immediately covered his body with nen. This didn't happen when Kurapika punched him.

They fit so much in this one episode. They progressed the story so fast through this one episode. That’s what makes the arc so good

His English isn't broken. He speaks the language flawlessly. His cadence is what is broken and he most certainly does not do this in the sub. Maybe he actually does have broken Japanese, but the subtitles do not reflect that.
