Hearing Ida’s VA from only hearing 3 words is impressive 😂

Also the manga, which has been coming out monthly since like 2005, is ending next month. VS manga fans are very anxious right now lol

You guys should do a double drop of the last episode of season 1 and the first episode of season 2 when u get to it

Askeladd is such a cryptic character for the majority of season one, and how the show unravels his story makes him one of my favorites in any anime.

Damn seems like they didn't know how to end it then because it seems very sudden as a manga reader

Pretty sure the type of horse would be big evidence as to who was riding it . Kinda like how criminals burn and hide cars after a crime .

I can’t fully express what I think because I want to be spoiler free in this comment section but, I trust Yukimura San

Thorkell the tall was actually real, Norse men are known for their height to this day and east aftican, but there'll the tall was 7'9, tho as powerful the viking were, they lost to the knight of templar, DEUS-VULT.

Tyler Dunsby

The bridge viking was Stamford bridge not London, pretty sure he was just a nameless viking in Harald's army

Montanahs love for horses is so sweet I can't wait for season 2

I love how Vinland Saga shows Thorfinns mind through his dreams. Subconsciously he knows what he is doing is wrong and his father doesn't want it, he misses his mom and sister and wants to run away. But of course the dream ends with Thors dying and his anger and hatred consume him. Also the place he wishes to run to doesn't exist, there are slaves and war no matter where he will go

I really hope y'all will consider Castlevania for ANY of the show slots once the current reactions end. 🏰 🦇

I didn't think "grounded" and "Attack on Titan" are words I would have ever heard used in the same sentence

castlevania and nocturne are pretty good shows, I'm surprised they haven't watched it yet

Bro tell me a power system that becomes less powerful than it that we’ve watched haha

David L

The magical transforming into a monstrosity to genocide the planet power or the "what even is a g-force" movement power they use to stop the genocide monsters?

Letts React

Again, it’s the most grounded of the shows we’ve watched haha idk what you would say is more grounded besides Death Note, but I’d argue that’s more unrealistic haha

David L

Yeah I mean fair, I wasn't even necessarily disagreeing; although I personally wouldn't call it particularly more or less fantastical than basically anything else (assuming we are just talking about the fantastical stuff), that's more a matter of opinion. Although yes now that you mention it, Death Note is basically just Sherlock Holmes with Yokai so... yeah.

HBelmont67

I haven't seen far enough in Attack on Titan to understand it's power system, though what about Cyberpunk: Edgerunners? Studio Trigger's balls-to-the-wall style aside, it's "power system" is just guns and tech from several decades into the future. Feels pretty grounded to me, at least compared to every other show you've watched on the channel.

HBelmont67

Tell me about it; I NEED them to watch them, mainly just so they can see how much Kenny looks like Richter Belmont lol. Oh, and the outstanding characters and writing and the PHENOMENAL (frankly underrated) animation, but that first reason is a big one for me. 😅

AoT/Vinland are Seinen, but that means the protagonist is an adult male. Most of the other anime you've watched are Shonens, which follow young male protangonists. That may be why you see them as more grounded, because you get to see more of a serious world view vs say Gon who very much treats things in a childish manner still.

Eric

I can’t wait until askeladds motivations are revealed to you

Vinland WAS shonen and shifted from a shonen magazine to a seinen magazine. Not subjectively, it quite literally shifted to a seinen publication. AoT was a shonen manga for its entire run. It was published in the “Bessatsu Shonen Magazine” This title is all dictated by the magazine they’re published in. It has nothing to do with the age of the protagonist. Witch Hat Atelier is one of my favorite manga and it has a kid girl as the protagonist. But it is a Seinen manga by definition as it’s published in Kodansha’s Morning Two seinen magazine. And thematically it does have much more grounded themes but at the same time it is viewed through the eyes of a child protagonist. These “demographics” are declared by what magazine they’re released under. It has nothing to really do with the tone or the main character. It CAN deal with complexity beyond surface level, something all manga I’ve mentioned do despite clashing settings, ages, and themes. All this to say, I really think trying to qualify a series on the demographic of its publication doesn’t always work.
