I find it interesting kurapika says the phantom troops doesn't keep track of who they killed but seeing in these episodes they care more about each other than who they kill.

Just to clarify, the “dead friend who wished to wreak havoc” is Uvogin. This is my favorite episode in this arc. I love Lacrimosa and the way it’s used here. I love the fact Hisoka doesn’t participate, again he has standards, and he doesn’t care about Uvogin unlike the rest of the Troupe. Also, in JJk s2 Fake Geto has a couple of fish curses around him while talking to MeiMei, those fishes were possibly inspired by Chrollo’s Nen Fish, considering that Gege Akutami loves Hunter x Hunter and was obsessed with it. I love The Phantom Troupe, even if I’m Chrollo’s biggest hater. The Spiders are probs one of my favorite villain groups, I really don’t like The League of Villains, all of them are irritating af to me, and I never got to care for any them, while I really like most of the Troupe members. 31:26 I am on Montana’s side, you blocked him, he was def going to Montana!

LOL I mean in your theory,,, he's a criminal now, so i think he cant be considered an ex-criminal if he never stopped? It's just a dub issue, as an interpreter, interpretation is hard, and some things get lost. Which is why I prefer sub because while it doesn't transfer well to spoken language most of the time, for me its easier to read because i have auditory processing issues, however I'm really enjoying the dub with you guys, it helps that I know this show like the back of my hand and remember most of the dialogue (yes, all 148 eps).

Well thank you and sorry. I hope you already watched it and then read it or I couldn't forgive myself for spoiling. But there's another important thing: In episode 56 Beloved X And X Beleaguered there is a scene with Chrollo round about minute 18:30 to 20:45 This could change a little bit due to different streaming platforms but the minute should be ok. Basically you should watch that scene again in sub because the dub is not very good. It's important for Chrollos character.

Thank you for you reactions. I know almost every big reaction content creators when it comes to anime but you really do the best job in analysing and asking questions brilliant. But still be careful with the dub in the end of episode 56 I Don't want you to get a false impression of that scene especially when it comes to Chrollo because he's so philosophical.

Translation doesn't work because the language is not real, HxH made their own symbols to make this language you see written in the book with Neon's ability

There is a bit of a translation mishap happening, in the original, Uvogin isn't referred to as "The Moon of Frost" in the first verse, but as "November" (which can have something called a frost moon, which is probably why they went with that) because Uvo was Phantom troop memeber Nr. 11, as in Novemeber, the elenventh month

The fortunes are written in poetic language, which means the translations are going to be trickier than normal because it is trying to sound poetic and also rhyme. The Crunchyroll sub translation of the first verse is: The calendar loses a precious component. The remaining months gather to mourn. The mourners play a melody, While the eleventh moon quietly rises. The dub poem imo is fine, though perhaps a bit more esoteric than the sub is. Moon and month are the same kanji/word in Japanese so the translation makes sense (I think).

Not literally no, but yeah Chrollo is being deliberately obtuse with Neon. He's basically just interpreting what Uvo's dying wish would be even if no words were spoken between them. Translations are tricky

Yes in one of the first episodes of this arc when we first meet the troop, Uvo asks Chrollo if they can go absolutely wild and Chrollo approves

No, but Chrollo _knows_ Uvo well enough to know that is _exactly_ what he would have wanted. Remember when Chrollo told them to go wild before? Uvo was _hyped!_

it goes more in to sounding like a poem and trying to rhyme in english,skips over some things in the translation o changing them to sound in verse,like in the part they say a melody they thought it was refering to the character,while in sub literally says a requiem,also how the dub skipped over how the calendar would lose a month that is one of the most important parts of the fortune ,the dub so far this is the first time i hear it and is great just skips over some important parts
