We learn this episode that Iharu was basically the hotshot of his group before joining the Defense Force, only to be given a reality check when he saw himself compared to all his outstanding new peers. In My Hero Academia, Bakugo went through a similar arc when he first came to UA. What are your thoughts on the similarities and differences between these characters and their responses to this specific conundrum?

Numbers weapon 6 grants the user cryokinesis, the ability to generate and manipulate ice. In this episode we see Reno using the full suit at about 45-50% power to incredible effect. What do you think the power will look like if he is able to raise his percentage output closer to what the division captains are capable of?

Kaiju no 8 is a show that is heavily themed around breaking through personal barriers, often with the assistance of those close to the character. What are your thoughts on this trope in anime? Is it enjoyable to watch, or is it sometimes overdone for the sake of plot progression?

From a psychological standpoint, what did you think about how Iharu was praised as talented, top of his class, only to hit a wall after joining the force and seeing more talented cadets advance while he struggled to make progress?

We already knew Reno felt a deep sense of responsibility for Kafka and Iharu, thinking that if he wasn't so weak, he could have prevented what happened. With no.6 suit bringing out Reno's underlying nature and will, do you think he'll be able to overcome this if he continues to use the numbers suit or just keep growing until the need for more power consumes him?
