Einar's voice actor is Alejandro Saab, he's another pretty prolific anime VA, though I can't think of a role of his off the top of my head that you guys would be familiar with. Though there is a character he voices in something that you will watch soon.

This is gonna be a new viewing experience for me! When I started Vinland Saga I wasn’t aware there was two dubs so I watched the Netflix version for the first season! When the Netflix version took a while to come out, I watched the Sentai version on Crunchyroll. So I’m curious about the VAs the choice to play the characters of season 2

Not sure if you ended up reading it, but the poem at the beginning and the text after Einar’s scream are translated in the English subtitles. They’re definitely my favorite parts of the episode for how they set up this season’s themes, I’d definitely recommend reading them if you haven’t already!

NGL, this was not as dark as I thought it was gonna be or predicted as I watched. They pulled their punches a lot. I’m Black in America. Slavery wasn’t THAT long ago. We still pass those stories down. It is awful, and I wish it didn’t, wasn’t, would wouldn’t happen. Alas… here we are.

Every "I have nowhere else to go" hits so hard its such a huge theme in this story. We had it in the first episode with the slave crying that there's no where else for him to go to be free from slave traders and war

the reason it didn’t seem as dark is that american slavery was especially cruel relative to what the eastern hemisphere was doing mostly due to the base and bias of the racial system they created. black and african people back then were considered fractions of people so if they were enslaved? you could hardly say they were even treated like property
