DoobyMcGooby

It says season 7 in the intro card instead of 8 lol

HBelmont67

Just two more episodes. 😥

Natsuo Todoroki

Welp… here we go. The episode that gave me a panic attack… I hope the discussion won’t frustrate me /jk

Slash Dragon

They fell out of their seats because Mirio, the man known for jokes and laughter at UA. Didn’t start off with any jokes so they were thrown off. 😂

HBelmont67

MHA VIGILANTES MANGA SPOILERS (seriously, if you've only seen the first season of the anime, stop reading): Crazy how Koichi came along with the other heroes from America offering foreign aid to Japan after the battle.

HBelmont67

As someone who graduated during COVID, I empathize with Mirio, Nejire, Tamaki, and the other third-years having their graduations pushed back. 🥲

Renn.88

3. The final episode got announced coming out May 2nd 2026. Episode 11 only adapts up to Chapter 430. The episode releasing in May adapts the final chapter, Chapter 431

HBelmont67

On a more positive note, at least Endeavor's hilarious driver came back. 😅

Renn.88

Guys, the final episode of the series has been announced for May 2nd 2026. Episode 11 of season 8 only adapts up to the 2nd to last chapter, Chapter 430. The final episode in May will adapt the final chapter, Chapter 431

Natsuo Todoroki

Never thought I’d say this, but the fact that Kurumada is STILL choosing to work with him makes me wanna take back everything good I ever said about him /hj

Natsuo Todoroki

Plus there’s two mystery announcements that have yet to be confirmed. So it ain’t over yet

Letts React

Yea i fix it for youtube figure wasnt worth fixing to get this out as fast as possible haha

HBelmont67

There were a couple background character returns at the start of this episode. The two kids who got excited to see their building rebuilt were the same ones Uravity and Froppy saved in the aftermath to the PLF War Arc in season six. And speaking of Uravity, one of the construction workers is actually Ochaco's dad!

KallaTheWatcher

I personally wouldn't call the rest of the new(?) third years frauds for a # of reasons. The student says that Aizawa wanted her class to face death which clearly didn't happen throughout her 1st and most of her 2nd year until the war against AFO that just concluded. But even then the new third years never got touched on in depth throughout the story which was dominated by Class 1A entirely and then Class 1B and finally the Big 3. So its less that they didn't do anything and more like they weren't the target of the conflict aka their was no OFA successor in their class for 2 years and that the Author never gave them any kind of shine for us to glimpse into. Which i would've like especially with how cool Aizawa's former student looked. Her design speaks heavily to her character from the very little that we got. Thats my personal take on them.

Renn.88

Same here. By the time my district got around to hosting a graduation, it was September and most of us were in other states for college

Saiyasha

Bakugo saying "What the hell did I do to you" makes me so happy. Because that is real growth. That he really understands how wrong what he did was and that he wanted Izuku to have it all.

Saiyasha

Which part of it?

Natsuo Todoroki

The ending. Basically all of it but mainly that one scene

HBelmont67

I'd already joined the workforce by the time my school's graduation ceremony came in August. 😅

Renn.88

Yup. Jump Festa is going on this weekend. All this stuff for MHA got announced/teased last night

HBelmont67

*second years, and forreal. Plus, there's no reason to single out the second years when, aside from Mirio, Nejire, and Tamaki, most of the other third years weren't depicted as being super involved, either.

Limini

Mystery announcements do not have to be new episodes, since it is the 10th anniversary it might just be merch or a special collectors edition of the 8 seasons etc

Saiyasha

I do like that natsuo never didn't forgive Endeavor here. It#s realistic. He always had the biggest problem and that doesn#t just go away.

Natsuo Todoroki

Sometimes forgiveness isn’t the only way to move on.

HBelmont67

Horikoshi revealed a sketch of what Natsuo's girlfriend/fiance looks like. She's basically a younger, heteromorph version of Rei, with mouse ears and a tail. I can't remember what her name is, but she's adorable. 🐭🥰

Limini

srs i have so much to say about the todoroki ending.

robo

i’m BEGGING y’all to put gachiakuta in the next poll for after mha 😭 it’s the newest project from studio bones. such an incredible story, you will love it.

Limini

The todoroki storyline was one of the best things in mha. I wish he hadn't ended it like this. -leaves a really bitter taste

Natsuo Todoroki

I like to call her “Mimi,” as a nickname (for those who don’t know that means “ears”) and I love her.

Renn.88

The new episode was specifically announced alongside 2 mystery announcements. The episode is confirmed coming. The mystery announcements are likely an OST concert tour in Japan and maybe an art exhibit. Those are the most common mystery announcements I can think of

Gestrid

The opening and ending have actually changed starting with this episode. The opening adds a shot of the two kids from the beginning of the episode holding hands. The ending adds Shinso to the class picture shown at the end of the ED.

HBelmont67

Tbh, a truly happy or satisfying ending was never an option.

Deiondre0

Ive been agonizing on where Ive seen that construction worker before! Nice catch

HBelmont67

But does she have a confirmed name??

Gestrid

The kids at the graduation fell over in shock from not hearing any jokes. Only Tamaki and Nejire, Mirio's closest friends, stayed in their seats. Even when it's telling a joke, My Hero Academia manages to deliver some subtly poignant moments.

Natsuo Todoroki

Worst part about it for me is how it plays that stupid happy song at the end when Endeavor continues to get the support he needs to work through his future. Happy ending was never an option but at least commit to the sadness.

HBelmont67

I mean, you could look at it more focusing on Hawks moving forward than Endeavor. Though, the EDs clashing with the episode's tone is a problem MHA has kinda always had. I remembered when Shigiraki's flashback episode ended so darkly, only to go to the regular season five ED. They could've at least cut the audio.

Natsuo Todoroki

I guess but we’ve also got mom being all smiley for no reason and Endeavor smiling too and just… yeah I honestly don’t even consider this to be a problem exclusive to the ending song.

Rahul Korrapati

we need a hero ranking from you guys act as the hero commison

Limini

yeah no i get that the new episode it confirmed. I'm just saying to belmont that the new mystery anouncements are most likely not new episodes, so it is over in terms of new content

Renn.88

Ohhhhh I gotchu. Yeah youre 100% right. When You're Next came out, they said thatd be the last movie so unless they adapt the Team Up spinoff manga, I doubt the 2 announcements will be anything anime related

HBelmont67

It's been AGES since we've seen Class 1-A back in the classroom, so now I can finally get something off my chest: This seating arrangement is WACK. They've got Shoji, the tallest kid in their class, sitting in the FRONT AND MIDDLE? Tall kids should be towards the back or the side so they aren't blocking anyone's view. On the flip side, Mineta is towards the back behind Midoriya. Having the troublemakers up front where teachers can keep an eye on them aside, he's so much shorter than everyone else, so why is he in the back?? Aizawa was ON something when crafting this seating arrangement. 😵‍💫

Natsuo Todoroki

For the record they’re arranged in alphabetical order

HBelmont67

Be honest: you secretly wanted Rei to push Endeavor down a flight of stairs or something. 🤣🤣 I'll admit my mind's gone in that direction on more than one occasion. 😅

HBelmont67

I did not know that. Maybe that's how it goes in Japanese schools, but that doesn't mean it makes sense practically. Given how often Aizawa opted to take the rational approach with his students, it's weird that THIS is where he decided to do things the traditional way.

Natsuo Todoroki

What’s interesting to me is that Kenny and Montana unintentionally highlighted some key problems with Endeavor’s “atonement” throughout the series with that first question without even realizing it. Specifically with that question about how much him and Touya deserve their endings. I’ll get into the overall details on YouTube probably but I found that very interesting. Also I’m happy they picked up on how messed up Touya’s ending is. There’s “ending things on a bittersweet note” and then there’s whatever that was.

Landon B

What *did* they gain by winning the war? they just didn't *lose* more. Also their feet were in the air because it was supposed to look like they fell back in surprise. You were looking too far into it lol

Natsuo Todoroki

Yeah it makes no sense but it does make for a funny visual with Shoji sitting in the front and Mineta sitting in the back 😂

Limini

No, i don't think punishment is the only solution nor is forgiveness. At this point I'd just want for them to move on and not be bound by Endeavor no more. Toya should have died in peace and not slow-suffering like this. I don't think it helps any one of them to have endeavor eternally punished at this point.

Robert

I think its never been a problem neccessarily, only that it was ultimately a journey For Endeavor to fully comprehend and realise. What atoning really means here, and the full situation he's in. Regarding his career, his family, himself, he's figuring out where it should be heading. And that would have lasted for quite sometime, with the atoning and journey he was on, post Ending confrontation, but it was pushed faster for him to understand and comprehend with a full perspective with the arrival of Toya Todoroki and his dance. That it is really was too late, there is literally nothing for him to do, the guilt, regret, sadness he should have felt, all coming and swirling in mass, that was the journey Endeavor was heading. Toya's fate was pretty grim and brutal tho, I agree, although "Realistic" like Kenny said. And it was something Toya did want deep down, as he said as he was exploding "There's things I want to argue with them about, stuff I want to say" and why I see he was given more time with his family as it happend, thanks to Shoto, Rei, Natsuo, and Fuyumi.

Letts React

They held that pose a solid 20 seconds haha little strange

Lyrical Kell of Music

Did Kenny really think Bakugo was gonna make fun of deku for being quirkless again ? 😭😭

Natsuo Todoroki

The thing is, people are very loose when it comes to what “atonement” means when they talk about Endeavor. By definition, atoning isn’t any super abstract or difficult to define internal process. It’s simply making tangible reparations for the past. So when people say stuff like “what atoning means here,” they’re more or less saying that Endeavor’s atonement sucked, but it wasn’t meant to be atonement at all. As for Touya, I honestly think his line about still having things he wants to say is doing way too much heavy lifting here. Like, him barely being able to say anything without struggling, and barely being able to actually see his family, as visits are going to be relegated to a few times a day until he reaches a limit, it’s all burying this opportunity for him under an avalanche of pain that makes whatever bittersweet “he’s getting what he wants” messaging feel really disingenuous. I’d honestly be okay with that if we didn’t get a weirdly misplaced somewhat happy moment right after that moment with Touya though. Plus I wouldn’t say it’s 100% “realistic” with the added context but that’s a whole other can of worms.

Natsuo Todoroki

…. No…? 😅 While I guess that would be closer to what he deserves than what we get, I don’t really care about how much he’s punished.

Natsuo Todoroki

Endeavor saying “I’m gonna keep atoning” and then Kenny and Montana proceeding to say “he’s accepted that there’s nothing more he can do” made me feel vindicated in the most unintentional way possible. 😅

Saiyasha

Absolutely. And for Natsuo, there is also the knowledge of how public all of this is. Like, anyone who does even a small background check on him will find his connection to Endeavor. It will be very hard for him to escape that shadow. My guess would be that if he marries his girlfriend, he may take her name, just to distance himself more.

HBelmont67

Congrats, I guess? 😅

Robert

I'd argue Endeavor's understanding and atoning was in the right ballpark. Creating an environment for Rei and his family to be more comfortable, not being involved in their lives, etc. It sucks in the sense that Endeavor still wasnt comprehending the hurt he caused that lasted for years, and since now that he is where everyone is at now, and still making steps to atone in a much more understanding light, its the best he can do, and worthwhile for whats to come. And with Toya. About he's getting what he wants here, I don't think it that when its never really been that or in any true sense at least. Him sticking around, and still able to talk with his dad and family even if its hell, is still strangley vindicated, but far from what he wanted. It's vindication with the threading of the needle setting they were able to achieve in this extreme situation. And ultimately does lead to a more contructive setting and repor for them all at the very end at least. And yeah the happy momment afterwards is a bit weird, when a more gloomy ending would have been appropriate, but the epilouge has is establishing hope for a better tommorow even with the hurt, and even in a harsh reality, so I can see a little bit why it was used in that manner.

Natsuo Todoroki

Honestly? “Understanding” and “atoning” are just two completely different things. Sure you can say they’re both steps in the right direction, but they’re not the same concept. And honestly, the buying of the new house for mom’s sake loses a lot of its value when you realize she’s still in his life and seemingly supporting him. Sure it’s pretty dubious, but the fact that what he’s getting here is so at odds with not getting involved with her life really just goes to show how little we’re getting here. Plus, like Kenny and Montana seemed to agree on… there’s not really much Endeavor can do (sure we can argue that point but the overall point here kinda stands on its own). So like, we can’t say “he’ll do everything he can to atone” and then immediately turn around and go “he understands that there’s nothing more he can do.” At that point we’re just trying to have our cake and eat it too. And for Touya, yeah I wouldn’t call this “threading the needle” since that would imply that it’s done well. Again, keep in mind that he literally can’t talk to his family at all without an insanely short time limit and spending more time alone than anything. Like, at a certain point it just feels disingenuous and tone deaf to say that he’s getting anything constructive out of this, especially since all we really get in that scene specifically is the family talking AT him for the most part. Shoto’s the only one that got any kind of interaction that allowed Touya to give a response. And yeah, I get the point behind the idea of “hope for a better tomorrow,” but it really doesn’t work here. Especially since we’re trying to supposedly indicate that people like Endeavor aren’t gonna have a hopeful future, but also he seems to have one despite that? This is the kinda thing that would require much more than two scenes to feel earned, but it’s instead just kinda rushed out the door. That’s a relatively minor flaw, but I think it’s worth mentioning.

Mary Baker

True, however, Aizawa is severely sleep deprived and he has the earliest class. Maybe he’s only rational after his morning coffee?

Landon B

Yeah, odd commitment to the bit it seems

HBelmont67

I'm curious if he'll take her last name. 🤔 Is that a thing in Japan?

HBelmont67

I know you guys skip the next episode teasers (understandable), but I really think you should watch the one in episode ten. It doesn't really reveal anything about the finale, and being the very last teaser, it's a pretty special watch for long time viewers, like yourselves. 🥲

HBelmont67

Is that an unpopular practice in Japan, taking your wife's last name?

Saiyasha

It's fairly unusal still, yes. Normally it's only done if the wifes family line is very important and the marriage is to preserve that families line in particular.

Tyler Tim

That would be awesome

Kiribukai

Bakugo and Dabi got me in my feelings this episode! 😭Bakugo crying about Deku losing his quirk saying “I thought we’d always be chasing after each other.” WHAT? I am heartbroken. And it’s totally wild to me that Toya is still alive. Like put this poor man out of his misery 😭 BUT the Shoto/Toya moment !!!! They bonded over Soba 🥺 and I am a puddle on floor! Two devastating moments, but integral to the completion of my two favorite character’s arcs 💔

Loki

To be fair to the 2nd years, we can only have so many characters on screen and mentioned lol They probably did stuff, but everyone would rather their favorites get attention than introduce a bunch of new characters Also it was all the other 1st years that were angry at them earlier in the series, the other hero course students and the general studies

Tyler Tim

Can't wait for CSM movie

Letts React

Yea def have agreed to most of your ideas on Endeavor, he really dug his hole and has to live in the hell he created for himself, but just try his best to do what good he can while there. Very interesting and well written arc!

Natsuo Todoroki

I mean, it’s definitely interesting! 😅 Well-written? Ehhh, agree to disagree there. Specifically with how hard (or how little) he’s actually tried to atone like he said he would. I could honestly go on for a long time about Endeavor and how frustrating he can be, but at the very least, moving forward is really all anyone can do in this scenario now that Touya was failed again. It’s just sad more than anything else, but this was never gonna have a happy ending 😅

Noboi

While I love MHA and its ending, I feel like the Todorokis deserved a better-written ending. Especially Toya/Dabi. I understand that he had a line where he said he wanted to talk to his family more, but having it so he can barely talk and have only a couple visits all while he slowly dies just makes it seem like he'd be better off dead ngl. Also Endeavor's character remains probably one of the most frustratingly-written parts of the story for me. Oddly enough, Kenny and Montana kind of explained why when they were trying to talk about its writing being good. Despite having it so he wants to atone for what he did (smth he hardly does throughout the series itself), it also tries to have its cake and eat it too by saying he'll just accept his fate as it is. I truly feel like Horikoshi's intents, while really interesting, were lost here. I'm happy Shoto and Natsuo got good endings though.

Sprig Plantar

Lol my I was always seated alphabetically in my US schools, it's not uncommon

Jinchuriki87

It's kinda wild you're just throwing shade at the 2nd years as "frauds" Like dude, there's only so much episode to use, by that same metric the entirety of the 3rd years (besides the big 3) are also "frauds" I think its safe to assume they were all active SOMEWHERE in a literal war with the villains 🤣🤣🤦🏻🤦🏻

Knov or Morel

this show just had a mass murderer telling us about his favorite food make me cry hahaha

Noboi

@HBelmont 24. Fuyumi is a strange case since she's the only one who's ending makes sense but feels weirdly underwritten. Like, it makes sense why she forgives Enji and Toya, but after that whole arc in season 5 it feels like she could've gotten more to do and say. Although I suppose her ending is fine.

Natsuo Todoroki

Now that the next episode reaction is out, I honestly just wanna thank Kenny and Montana for their reactions and discussions about the Todoroki family. It’s all been super refreshing and even though we’ve had our disagreements, they provided a very safe space to talk about how we feel about the complexities and how we feel about them.

Kira Kotobuki

I have two anime requests for you guys~ The first is Assassination Classroom. It has a surprisingly similar feel to MHA, and I think y'all would really like it. Plus, it's a completed series with only 2 seasons and an epilogue movie. The second is Yona of the Dawn. The only reason I never requested it before is because the anime had been on hiatus with only one season for the last 10 years, and it was unknown whether it would ever be continued. BUT just a week or two ago a second season for it was FINALLY announced, so now I don't feel guilty about recommending it to people. XD

patricia jimjimcherie

A lot of people hated Endeavor’s ending, but I loved it. Endeavor became my favorite character in this animanga around the time we meet Hawks. He showed more growth than my dad ever did, even if my dad did change and got better and I forgave him. Probably why what actually kept me watching / reading MHA was his storyline, and his family’s.

Natsuo Todoroki

While I definitely don’t HATE it, I get why people do. I’ve talked to death about how I don’t think Endeavor atoned very well throughout the series, and I definitely agree that him showing growth and being okay with living with the fallout of his actions is overall just par for the course. It’s definitely leaps and bounds ahead of other people who’ve never had a change of heart at all, but I can definitely get why people consider this bad. Especially when you factor in what happened to Touya here.

patricia jimjimcherie

Yeah, I can understand your point, and I think it's fair. I don't think Touya would get anything better considering the fact he was a villain. The best thing could've been death, but I think Hori though death was crueler I guess.

Natsuo Todoroki

Yeah, I just feel like this is ten times crueler than death. I know the idea is that he can finally talk to his family, but with how few visits he’ll get and how he can hardly speak, it just feels like overkill more than anything else to me.

patricia jimjimcherie

Yeah, I completely agree. Death would have been more merciful than whatever is happening now.

Subaru130

The 3rd year girl (previously 2nd year) talking to the class this episode was actually shown at the final battle with AFO. She wasn't an important character, but she was actually there fighting.

Day

I was wondering why everyone was on their asses 😂

Marco Garcia

This felt like the ending of the show honestly
