i do not want to put a damper on the ants remembering their past lives and such but Hagya was the first name Leol picked, and he decided on a different one later. He's mentioned it ULTRA casually that he changed it, but it is information many of the ants should know, that ikalgo doesnt, and Flutter WOULD know because he worked directly under Hagya/Leol

I believe the correct translation would be "I owe you one!" according to the japanese I hear, although I'm no expert and the sub makes yhe same translation as the dub

This never made sense to me, at least not in the anime (manga may be different). Ikalgo was there when Leol's soldiers under Flutter's command were attacking Killua. And Ikalgo was reporting directly to Flutter when sniping, which is the same fight where Flutter said something like "Soldiers of Leol, Attack!"

The "you owe me one" scene can be taken one of two ways, either a translation error, the more logical one, or, ikalgo saying killua owes him one because he won't tell anyone that killua broke from the mission objective, and split from gon, just to kill ants that may have posed no threat to ikalgo, Gon was so hyper focused on the mission that he didn't think about anything else, he didn't even notice that killua hadn't followed him, the only one that noticed was ikalgo, so him keeping it to himself is a favor in a way

It's reasonable to think in all the chaos of helping Killua and the hunters that he might have just forgotten, specially if it was only recent. There was an earlier scene where one of the squad leaders called him Hagya and got something like a "you better be careful he hates if you call him that". Plus Welfin clearly is still adjusting too. If it had been anyone else it might have slipped through but Flutter is Leol's right hand ant so it would be especially weird to hear that from him.

I always thought it was one of those "I wont say thank you because we're friends, and that's just what we do for each other" moments. Mainly because Killua told Ikalgo never to say thanks again now that they're friends. It helps snap Killua back because he realizes that he deviated from the plan because he was watching out for a friend, which is understandable

*spoilers for s8 of mha, though I assume everyone has seen it by now* There's so many similarities deku has to his predecessor, gon. Even down to losing their arms 😅 Hxh really is such a staple pillar of the manga/anime community. I'll continue to praise Togashis writing. The entire chimera ant arc is still one of the best overall arcs I've seen in anime.

I think the iconography of the stairs is more due to its significance than how many episodes it is in. The entire palace invasion kicks off at those stairs and centered there because that's how far Knov made it previously. I think it's symbolic because those stairs represent ascension and they are exactly the point where everything began to escalate exponentially.
