Aisen did say it took ten years for hemmel and them to get to enda, I don't remember how many years it's been since hemmels death but it was maybe 20 or so years after firen and frieren meet/stark came into the picture. Also sorry spelling names isn't my specialty

I think my first thought of watching the intro to the new season was that they just bypassed all the memories frieren has had and I wished to get details like omg just interesting

Unfortunately, while a sweet thought, Fern's spell from Serie was to launder clothes not anything. Also, I feel like it may have been misinterpreted but Frieren offering Stark to Wirbel wasn't offering him to join his party but to let Wirbel have a chance to convince Stark because she believes she forced him to join hers. Shes giving him an opportunity to make his own choice to stay or go.

I love how the start of the 1st ep of season 2 where Frieren, Fern and Stark are in the cart, talking about getting money and work, is a reflection of season 1 ep 1 with Frieren, Eisen, Himmel and Heiter talking about the same things.

Something to note in this new intro during the quick image flashes of the hero's party, is Himmel is often seen looking back at Frieren. When the image after Himmel's funeral flashes, both Aisen and Heiter are looking at Frieren. It's like it shows Himmel looking for her until he's gone, and then their two friends and party members both look to her once he's gone. It's such a subtle little detail and I love this show for its constant meaningful subtle details.

"Scoundrel! You took the pebble, and left the priest with the boulder!" "Because the pebble would complain you stink of liquor!" I've always loved this back and forth between Himmel and Heiter. Season one confirmed that the two are actually childhood friends, and you can really tell in scenes like this. 😁

I'm glad the anime remembered the pendant Kraft the Monk made for Fern when showing her appreciate the gifts she was given. I don't think that detail was included in the manga.

I feel like sein subltely has such a presence here. Theres the mention that stark was saved by sein when he was bitten by a snake, him being refrenced by stark, and we see the pouch he gave fern among the gifts she has. Arghh i miss him so much, he wouldve helped sorting out the tension between stark and fern too lol

Not to mention him being there would've made things less tense, so Frieren never would've brought it up.

That spike on his axe would be pretty practical. Idk if he actually uses it this way but it makes it so that he could thrust like a spear.

The axe is incredibly impractical but the closest thing is a bearded axe would have an extra section to drop down almost like that spike used to grab the top of a shield or possibly a weapon

Frieren's animation is genuinely SO stellar; I genuinely can't believe that it shares the same animation studio as Hunter x Hunter and Death Note. That's not even saying those shows don't also look great, just that they're all SO different from each other.

Stark's axe reminds me of a halbred. Heavily stylized and in the exact form the spike probably isnt practical but not that unrealistic.

I am just obsessed with the opening. The blue petal representing Himmel, the yellow and white shortly thereafter representing Eisen and Heiter. Then the purple and red that fall in as she clutches them tight.

Yeah i think it’s def meant to be halbert-esque for use at a spear in a pinch where wide swings aren’t possible
