Rae ✨

Well I was about to go to bed but yknow what time is a social construct.

Lilgggg

Dude, y’all are the best actually give good reactions and have the best release schedule

Geo23

Just in case you hadn't heard, The Legend of Vox Machina season 4 will return on June 3rd. Been enjoying your reactions to both these series, can't wait for your Invincible reactions

Schlong Shucker

Ngl as slimy as Essek is rn i can’t say I’m shocked like who would’ve guessed that forcing a guy to stab his own mother ends up turning him into an unkind soul

Suplee215

This episode gets really deep woth the Essek story. Personally I view the death itself as an assisted suicide due to a terminal illness. From that point of view, I can see honoring a person's death that way as a scared ritual as fitting. I do think forcing essek to be a part of it as manipulation and especially manipulation to make him join a religion he rejected time and again. I have seen people.use a love ones death to try to convert people and thats just scummy. I cannsee why essek ended as he did.

Shay

Even worse: the illness was curable, but they refuse to research it BECAUSE of the religion and forced him to kill her rather than use the cure that he'd literally ALREADY found which he became a criminal to do explicitly BECAUSE of said refusal to study anything about themselves😅 Also, the whole "it is unseemly to cry at death" thing is very telling about how much emotional suppression and mental health dimissiveness is normalized by their society

Timothy Heck

loved your reactions as always!! I loved how the show adapted Jester and Nott desecrating a church from the campaign. (It was a church to the Platinum Dragon in the campaign, different in the show probably for copyright stuff) It was so dang funny and almost got really bad lol, the two of them were nearly caught and arrested for serious charges but slipped away. As Travis put it, "that is easily the most fucked two characters have ever been, to full a reversal. That is the deepest fuckage we've ever dipped a toe in."

Suplee215

We don't know if it was or wasn't. Essek believes he found a way. But most cures take long to figure out and while essek's cure might work on paper, there might be more to it. I can't blame someone suffering from what is basically dementia to want to end it. The religion not researching and the religion hampering research is another harm it is doing though. Just trying to look at it from the view point of someone with a terminal illness, some people dont want to be part of experimental treatments to try.

HamboneKablooey

Jester's duplicate is actually one of her Channel Divinity options as a Trickster Cleric, Invoke Duplicity. She makes a perfect illusory duplicate that she can control, and when she casts spells, she can choose to cast them from the duplicate instead.

HamboneKablooey

T'Nia Miller is KILLING it as Vess DeRogna, between her "I'd like to see you fucking try" and her crazed laugh at the end. Can't wait to see more of her!

zzsaturn

It’s funny you mentioned the FMAB vibes at the end– the way they animated Fjord’s underwater patron this episode reminds me SO much of Pride’s shadows

StorytellerDave

Well this is nice to wake up to, usually I get these when I finish work

JustCallMePurple

The “you fn stink” line came from Marisha above the table. She was RPing smelling her armpit, it stank, so she told the group she fn stank. Lol Also, welcome the brjeaus The book Ves had looks like the book in the Molly “mural”

StorytellerDave

In her defense, Beau was elbows deep in toad devil guts just 3 episodes prior, attacked by stinking insect poison clouds 2 episodes prior and in a cart full of dirty and coal in an ancient dungeon 1 episode prior, and I don't think they could get showers on the road.

HBelmont67

I can't be the only one who thinks Nott actually looks kinda pretty with her bandages and hood off, right?

HBelmont67

Tell me about it. I still don't think I like Essek, but that scene is ROOOUUGH. 😬

HBelmont67

The Pumat Sol interaction went differently in the original stream. The rest of the Nein was there, for a start. All of them were in awe of Clean Caleb (especially Jester haha). All of them except Nott, though, who was mortified. 😅

HBelmont67

Man, Fjord and Jester's goodbye scene looked so pretty. You can really feel the fact that their VAs are married in scenes like this. 🥲

StorytellerDave

I remember listening to Nick Conner and Danny Motta talking bout M9 and Nick found Nott hot XD

StorytellerDave

Honestly it being the Platinum Dragon actually made it even worse, because Jester unwittingly did the worst blasphemy possible against Bahamut, by painting colours on the Platinum dragon, whose archnemesis is Tiamat and chromatic dragons.

HBelmont67

Danny Motta mentioned! Also, he's Nott wrong.

StorytellerDave

It's an interesting contrast with what Caleb did, both having killed their parents, but in very different circumstances

JaySpotTx

100% agree, it was a gorgeous scene, and the wind blowing through Jester's hair and those tears in the wind.. just heart aching.

HBelmont67

Loved the cheek kiss, though to this day, I still can't decide if Fjord intentionally turned Jester's face to kiss her cheek, or if she did it bashfully.

Shay

Essek directly said to his mother that she already discussed him finding a cure, and she mentions her consent again when she was talking to the queen "*we* wanted more time", she already volunteered herself (also, this is a show and Essek is supposed to be unreasonably intelligent, it wouldn't make sense for him to be proud of successfully finding a cure if it wouldn't work after we just spent several episodes establishing that he can tell when something is ineffective[hence the civilian experiments]. There's absolutely no way Essek would use a cure on his mom that he did not know for a *fact* would work)

Suplee215

Essek suffers from hubris. He for sure could. And she took away her consent when she found out the means of getting the cure.

zzsaturn

I love the composition of the background during Jester and Fjord’s scene together. Not only is it animated beautifully, but the fact that while Fjord is distancing himself from Jester/trying to isolate himself, he’s cast in a shadow while Jester is standing in the light. Jester watches him leave as he’s LITERALLY walking into darkness. It’s so well done.

silentinfinity

I don't know what's wrong with this video but cant get to play through chromecast. Anyone have any helpful insights? It connects and then buffers forever. I can play other patreon vids

Loki

To give a little credit to the Queen, she can't just hop and the dias and kill herself. I would suspect she would need to oversee the transfer of power before doing so, if she even does

HBelmont67

Um, no? She can appoint someone else to the position; she's just a hypocrite.

Loki

That's kind of what I meant, plus its an entire kingdom, its not like a small company she handing off the responsibility of. PLus on average most places have procedures and ceremonies for changes of leadership. Now will she actually do that? we'll have to see

Riley

where's ep 8?

Contrastjd

The blue cowlike species are firblogs they are fey creature and best descride as gentle giants that like to disguise themselves as elves to not frighten folk with there size or appearance.

Erin Ryan

I'm so interested in mollys plot line it's seems so important yet we know basically nothing about it

dannydarko27

The Gentlemen is a Water Genasi so that's why he's always wet, but the crew would always joke about it being sweat lol

dannydarko27

Idk if you've seen any Flanagan series on netflix but Rohul Kohli voiced Verrat, so I hoped he stayed all series. I know him from iZombie but he's become such a distinguished actor and I was elated that he joined the cast.
