TheLifeofAFangirl

what are your first impressions about the show and are two main characters Maomao and Jinshi?

Day

So excited this show has finally made it!! This is a very different show than your usuals, what are your first thoughts? Are you reading for a series of mysteries?

Franina

Based on the first episode and the setting, timeline, and culture it introduces, what are your early predictions about what the story might focus on or explore?

Day

Are you ready for a whole 2 seasons of kaiji tang rizzing it up 😏

Franina

What stands out most about Maomao’s personality after episode 1

CrowKnows

Long time, first time. This show is set in a time where the commonwealth, like Maomao, have no power. How do you think the culture will affect the actions of Maomao, who is bot only poor, but also a woman?

Day

So we've had main characters willing to harm themselves or put themselves in harms way to save others or for the greater good of a war etc. What's your take on a main character who does so purely for the curiosity?

Imani Brooks

People often compare Frieren and Maomao when it comes especially to their two main female leads. Do you agree with the comparison so far? Also, what do you want to see most in this show, apothecary and character wise?

StorytellerDave

Kenny! I am specifically curious about what you thought this show would be before watching it, and what you think after watching this first episode?

Day

From history, we've heard of poisonous substances previously being in makeup and things like wallpaper, what do you remember around the time period this would take place in you hope to see in this series?

HBelmont67

Let the Jinshi simping begin . . .

HBelmont67

What are your thoughts on the vocal range already displayed this episode by Maomao's voice actor Emi Lo, whom you've previously seen as Lucy from Cyberpunk and Suma, one of Tengen's wives from Demon Slayer (the crybaby one lol)?

Day

Oh wow I can NOT imagine the crybaby wife coming from maomao...

HBelmont67

If you'll entertain my curiosity for a moment, I gotta ask: do you think you'll change your pfp to Jinshi once they start this show haha?

Andy

Why are your thoughts on MaoMaos personality and overall lack of reaction to the things happening to her. But also being unable to stop herself from helping someone when she knows she can help.

Day

I may... gojo is still in a cube right now 🤔 though I can't immediately think of any iconic gifs of Jinshi I'll have to look haha

Ramon Fax!

Well she's voicing Goddess Teoritta (the Loli) from Sentence To Be a Hero so I think that's an even bigger surprise. Although when Maomao starts screaming you can hear some Teoritta in there.

Ramon Fax!

How do you feel about the setting of the story? Ever seen anything like it before?

Ethan Milligan

What do you think of the setting? The time period and culture seem to have a lot of influence on the story, so how do you think this show will differ from the other shows you've watched previously based on this different setting? And what do you look forward to seeing based on it?

RoxyMgreyray

why is mao mao best girl and why ? no seriously with what is presented on the first ep, what are your predictions of this show

Daedae

Wait she voice Teoritta fr ?

Prue

In this episode we get a glimpse into how much expectations and status play a part in everything from accesibility to healthcare, how seriously your knowledge is taken into consideration, safety, beauty standards etc. How do you expect MaoMao to navigate her new place in the palace now that she was plucked from the place she felt safe in by "blending in" with others?

Murr

How do you think growing up in the "Entertainment District" affects (and will affect) how Maomao views the Rear Palace, the people she meets there, and how they behave?

Tntmonkey1229

Had to rebuy my subscription just to ask this first ever question lol but anyway so excited for this show…in this episode we see a lot about the word at large and how customs and roles for people were different the anime censored a lot however what do you make of the world at large so what is your opinion on the setting that takes place and the new roles that are needed for a world in this time period

Gabriel Smith

The setting of the show is set in blend of Ming and Tang dynasty China. Do you know anything about that time period?

Alayna Petty

Do you know much about apothecary practices or herbs? How do you think Maomaos knowledge can help her more in the future?

Lars

Maomao is unusual as a main character firmly dedicated to avoiding any involvement with events and potential plot lines. Do you think this makes sense for her, and how do you think that goal will work out for her?

Ferret

What do you think of Maomao's promotion to lady-in-waiting? At first glance it seems like it's out of gratitude, but do you think that's the only teason she's been given the position, and given her reaction do you think it's even that much of a reward?
