I always enjoy coming here to get my first experience of the dub, as someone who watches the sub myself. I loved Takaba and Reggie's Japanese VAs so was nervous if they'd do them justice in English, but I was pleasantly surprised by both of them! Reggie in particular has this snarky, flamboyant way of speaking that I thought the dub captured really well.

I heard the wifi joke from Takaba is kinda weird because of a translation error. Someone made a fan translation that makes more sense. After the guy asks what era are you from(modern sorcerer or past) he basically says the equivalent of none of your busi-net. Like business but with internet.

Yeah, thats the point. Takaba didn't do the setup so its all punchline lol. This is what reddit says tho: "The WiFi joke is explained a little later in the manga, but the reason it’s so bad is that it’s all punchline with no setup. The joke originated from takabas experince with bad wifi or something but he doesn’t communicate that at all" and another person said: the official en translation of the wifi joke is different from the original jp (better translated as "stay out of my business/busi-net"). the wifi joke as told by takaba has no setup but kenjaku does explain it later: it's when your phone automatically connects to a weaker wifi instead of a stronger local wifi.

Reggies Power reminds me of Mirio or Yaomomo. Like, yes, the power has enormous potential - but it's only as good as the wielder. Reggie has to know what he ahs, where it is and has to think in the moment to use the appropriate item, which is an incredible feat of intelligence

Fushiguro's domain is not complete. A doimain needs a sort of wall to function and an adept sorcerer can create that wall anywhere, but Fushiguro hasn't gotten the hang of it. So instead, he uses the walls of the Gymnasium as a makeshift to 'complete' his domain that way

Megumi's domain is still incomplete, though you can see he's been working on it since there's now an object behind him (which itself looks incomplete). Megumi hasn't gotten the hang of barrier techniques, which is why he's using the gym itself as a makeshift-barrier.

Reggie Star is an incarnated sorcerer, which was said back in episode 8 when Reggie confirmed he knew Kenjaku. Reggie's technique, which utilizes contracts, would've been pretty limited back in the day. He basically lucked out with receipts, a form of contract, being so commonplace in modern day.
