Noach

you can definitely tell this was a budget saving episode

Erin Ryan

Im so excited for next episode

Indifferent Denji

Funny because it had some of the best animation the show has had with actual choreography and such at the start

BonnieOnPatreon

This episode is so cheeks I kinda love it though

Suplee215

I think this episode was needed to set the pace of the season. An episode to let all yhe plot lines linger in the air to make them even more chaotic.

Erin Ryan

Mark getting his old suit back warms my heart

Erin Ryan

I lowkey love marks mental health journey in hell

robo

idk the fights looked awesome this episode

At first I was confused by how underwhelming basically all the forces of under realm but after multiple times through darkblood explanation of their timeline it made more sense. First off, it was never stated and actually stated multiple times that this was an earth only conflict, just a really long running one. Secondly, Satan was surprised to hear that mark was part alien and surprised that aliens even existed. So between the demons and the vile, it’s a self contained conflict with a set standard of power on both sides but now the battle is open to influence from the wider world, from beings like mark that are just on a totally different level than any of the demons, satan, or vile. For example, at their prime the British had the greatest navy in the world, in any war you would look at them as an overwhelming force but then in that same war, drop a fully manned and stocked US aircraft carrier allied against the British. You would understandable ask what’s the point of this war when this one ship could wipe out both sides easily. TLDR demons vs vile was two big fish in a very small pond, now a big fish from the massive pond joined the battle making the small fish look underwhelming and incompetent when they are simply on different levels.

I can't WAIT for next week's gut wrenching episode . . .

Westy

I spaced out during the Volcanica fight when I instantly recognised the eery intro to Raining Blood lol. Too busy vibing and remembering my Guitar Hero days

Cyan_Sky9135

if this episode wasnt in the comics doesnt that make this sorta filler?

HBelmont67

Nice to see the guy smile

HBelmont67

Indeed, which isn't inherently a bad thing. Plenty of filler I've seen in anime was enjoyable enough to be worth it. Then there's this episode . . .

Lilgggg

jjk episode goes crazy

Schlong Shucker

William’s voice change is probably the most disappointed I’ve been with this show and I’m not even joking

Link

I dunno about money being the sole reason they swapped William's voice actor since they went and got Bruce Campbell to voice Satan, I can't imagine that's cheap :P I wonder if Satan need to get his hands on the Necronomicon...? :D

Juan Solo

I know not everyone liked this episode, but I think Mark's time in Hell was very much needed. It helps him realize that there won't always be an ideal solution to a situation, that he really does have to get his hands dirty sometimes for the greater good. For someone with his level of power, he also needs a clear head for those kinds of decisions (as Art put it, the fact he's aware of that is a step in the right direction). It's a lesson he needed to learn before going off to war.

Hey siri, skip ahead to next Monday

Ramon Fax!

It doesn't help that the art style and animation in Invincible isn't particularly Great so when you're watching this show it's heavily carried by the plot and characters. So when there isn't any for either it becomes a slog to get through

Braden Jackson

I believe the writer wanted to do this arc but didn’t have time

HBelmont67

Rengoku & Stark: "First time?"

Ramon Fax!

what happen to the original voice actor

mantis toboggan

I don't hate this episode but Satan's design kinda sucks and the fact he's not even particularly strong was a letdown. Anyway next week will be awesome

Ramon Fax!

That's actually why they off screened that Cerberus fight.

HBelmont67

Tell me about it. It happening in THIS episode just makes it stick out more. 😬

HBelmont67

Heads up, but some clips of the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender movie, if not the entire movie, just got leaked online, so beware of spoilers. 🫣 On that note, so far, I'm liking what I'm seeing! 🌊🛘🔥💨🙌🏼

Joseph

Desperately waiting for the jjk episode really want to see your reaction to it

Letts React

We just watched! Filming some more, will post jjk later today!

Joseph

Can’t wait! I rather watch it at home than at work

Braden Jackson

I agree while the episode could be considered filer I think the theme mark and dark blood exploration was important to the last season and the future

HBelmont67

We were all intrigued on how last season teased an original storyline with Darkblood, and it's disappointing that THIS is how they deciding to follow through.

Raven

I genuinely do not feel like this should be the lowest rated episode of the show. Is it the best? Absolutely not. Is it the worst? I personally don't think so. I love the episode because I feel like it'll make more sense in the future (both in this season's overall context and probably just down the line in general I'm guessing, since its heavily alluded to that Volcanikka will comeback). I enjoyed this episode since it feels like Mark is emotionally at his lowest and then physically is summoned to his lowest. The episode felt like it was both meaningful for Mark's growth and also decently lighthearted too. Not the best, and not the worst, but probably will get better with time.

mal

i do not william’s new voice i’m sorry😭

mal

Ace: “you get used to it”

HBelmont67

No need to apologize, it's objectively worse

HBelmont67

Okay. Don't agree at all, but fair enough. In your opinion, what IS the worst episode of Invincible?

Raven

Definitely Season 2, Episode 2 for me. The episode where Mark goes to Atlantis to deal with the aftermath of Omni-Man killing Aquarus. I enjoy the overall story movements of that episode (with Angstrom and with Cecil's discovery of the audio sound that injures viltrumites) but other than that it's my least favorite episode and to me, is the worst. Felt all over the place at the time of watching it and just generally to me feels like the weakest episode. Invincible is a strong show though, so even the "worst" episode to me still isn't that bad. Just not as good as all the others.

squalor and splendor

The thing i hate about William's new va is the voice sounds like a very stereotypical flamboyant gay voice. Surprised he didnt say boots a lot

Aric Lano

Where my fellow metal heads at? SLAYER!

illnamethechannellater653

I loved the Mark and Damien talk think Mark needed that. One thing I don't get the spell didn't work before presumably cause Nolan was off planet. So he widen the perimeters so why didn't it also bring Oliver.

HBelmont67

You know, fair enough. Honestly, I'm having a hard time even remembering anything from that episode, which isn't a good testament to its quality.

Ryan Jones

I'm gonna chalk it up to a taste thing, because this was definitely the worst episode for me. It ruins what I liked about Darkblood. I like the idea of him being an actual demon and all the implications that came with it. Darkblood's motivation when we were introduced to him was that he was 'saving souls' to try and redeem his own, this ruins that. Not only that, but they made Hell lame, they made Satan lame. Satan's post-transformation design sucked, the whole 'techno-demon' stuff sucked, and the 'Underworld' lore sucked. No mysticism, no larger implication, just 'big lava cave where fire monsters live'. The episode made previous story beats worse, didn't add anything compelling and was executed terribly. All in all, definitely the worst by far

Justin Looney

Does nobody else love the irony of a bottomless conversation on the way to a bottomless pit? I also love these teasers of future potential problems. Remember when we thought the Flaxans were a one off? Kind of makes you think about every villain a little harder.

DCViper

To be fair, Damian wears a full Sherlock outfit while looking like a demon. So drip is important to him
