Something that I loved from the comics that I missed in this fight was Mark shittalking conquest, he gloats about catching conquest mid-exhale which is the only reason strangulation works so fast on beings that can hold their breath for months, he constantly says "not enough" as conquest beats the shit out of him and even says it as conquest is pulling his guts out, it felt like marks revenge for all the goading descending talk conquest did on earth and I wish they had added some of it here

One detail I really loved, was at the dinner scene before they leave, everyone is eating Korean food, as Debbie and Mark are both Korean (you can see the BanChan dishes on the table also)

The narrative Dread I feel whenever a Viltrumite forms their hand into that bladed chop is kind of like how you feel when you suddenly get a characters tragic or uplifting backstory, you know death is on the way

Ngl, I can see why they wouldn't include that. It would be uncharacteristically brutal of Mark(as of right now) and make the situation seem more "look at this cool fight"(which they already did for the first fight) than "look at Mark struggle and succeed at finally taking down this incredibly difficult opponent".

One thing that always hits me about Nolan and art, is that Nolan did what he did in the costume that art made for him. The symbol that art designed for Omni man is now the symbol that people see when thinking about the destruction of Chicago.

I love this episode so much. I love Nolan but it was so cathartic and satisfying seeing him get rejected by everyone. The entire confrontation with Debbie was perfection. Then one of my favourite fights in this show it completely encapsulates who invincible is. We've seen Mark get the shit beat out of him yet never giving up almost every episode and it's built up into this fight

Honestly Eve made the right call not telling Mark about her pregnancy. When Eve was injured during the Invincible War, Mark selfishly refused to leave her side even with the planet still being destroyed by his variants. If she told him, Mark wouldn't have left Earth.

I feel like the other thing a lot of people forget: She outright told William she doesn't want this, isn't ready. That implies she plans to abort. Why the hell would she start telling people if she's not planning to keep it? So everyone can look at her funny, try to talk her out of it? There's a reason most women planning to abort never mention the pregnancy. Doubly so for not telling Mark. Why worry him sick about something that she's already made a decision about?

The ending to the 2nd Conquest fight is absolutely one of the most brutal things I've ever seen in animation and that includes stuff like the 90's Berserk anime. Usually bloody animation is quick and visceral instead of slow and painful like that throughout all the anime I have seen.

The thing that bugs me is when Cecil says Earth is villtrumite free for the first time in 20 years like that's a good thing, or even a new thing. Mark was off planet for a couple months when he went to thraxa the first time and Cecil was all whiny. "Things were peaachy"

I love the fact that Conquest showed genuine fear of Mark. When he stabbed through Mark, he had a huge grin on his face. But when he saw Mark continue to choke him, that smile faded so fast. His face screamed "holy sh*t. I know im crazy, but this guy is really crazy."
