An emotional and great episode! We know the Rear palace exist for the sake of the Emperor and continuing his line, but as we saw here that isn't necessarily what every individual person wants. What other motivations might the other Courtesans and servants have in the rear palace and how might that affect Maomao as she gets closer and closer to high ranking officials/ The Emperor himself.
