Lets flipping go, been waiting for this all week!

HBelmont67

Out of context, it kinda looks like the title for a magical girl anime. ✨🤣

Yuion

This gotta be one of my fav episodes in the entire series. Before I was intrigued but this elevated the series to a must watch for me

"He is not the love of your life he is literally just a guy Hit him with your cart" Maomao/Montana on Jinshi 😂

wanira 11

Yay thanks for picking my question :) I also think Jinshi kind of had a "Holy shit" moment seeing Maomao snapping like this, not necessarily disliking it lol

Atar

HBelmont67

Maomao's voice actor, Emi Lo, POPPED OFF this episode. 😳

StorytellerDave

The "secret technique" that Maomao describes for those curious is: - To place the Emperor's sword between the mountains and polish it until the river flows in the valley.

HBelmont67

. . . . . Is that a direct translation from manga/light novel, or . . .

Robin B

That's so beautifuly said, it's almost a pity it represents such a thing lmao

StorytellerDave

Lead poisoning makes people more aggressive too, Lady Lihua slapping Lady Gyokuyou could be a nod to that particular symptom.

HBelmont67

About the fluid movement, that's actually exclusive to this episode, some it had a different director who opted to use rotoscoping. Similar animation can be found in scenes such as Tanjiro's dad doing the Hinokami Kagura.

UrsaClaire

Welp. I know what I'm saying to my boyfriend next time I really want something from him. Bravo, sir. Poetry.

HBelmont67

I wonder how long till they realize Lady Lihua is Mikasa.

HBelmont67

Please at least watch the pilot episodes of Dr Stone, Black Clover, and Naruto before making your decision on what to watch next. 🙏🏼

Tyler Tim

Anyone here watched the latest mha episode l?

HBelmont67

Yup. I didn't expect it to already be in dub, too. 😁

HBelmont67

Jinshi: "I'm scaroused."

Tntmonkey1229

power system: how big your chest area is

StorytellerDave

Nah the real power system is the techniques Maomao teaches about in that one episode

One thing about the handmaidens is the society and system they live in. Their mistress's biggest selling points are her looks and status. And Maomao is from another courtesan. Politics between different women of a haram or whatever were a real thing and got brutal. They were for sure idiots, but its not like they didnt have her best interest at heart. Rumors that a courtesan doesnt enjoy high quality food or inly eat lower food can hurt reputation and that can get one demoted. Despite the time period the show do a good job at both showing these things exist ad pushing back on them in ways that dont feel like modern sensibilities being added
