Dr Stone or Black Clover would both be fun to watch after. They have GREAT English dubs, full of actors heard on this channel many times, especially in My Hero. 😁 Also, the art styles and character design POP OFF in both shows.

Speaking of elections, Virginia just became the 18th state to join the National Popular vote interstate compact, which is an agreement among individuals states to ignore the Electoral college and elect the president by popular vote alone. It only comes into effect when enough states sign on to accrue 270 electoral votes, now that Virginia joined thanks to the new dem governor spanberger, the compact has reached 222 votes. We are so close to getting rid of the electoral college, and the results of the upcoming midterms could push that over the top. -I mention all this because of how important it is to convince people in your life to vote and understand. I live in NYC, and convinced both of my parents and my little sister to vote for Mamdani, when initially baby sis wasn't going to vote and parents were thinking about Cuomo, as older church black folk who fall for centrist Dem nonsense over a progressive platform

THE MOST frustrating thing about Ging is that while he may be agonizingly arrogant, he's never shown himself to be incompetent. His arrogance is, unfortunately, earned. Also, while he is a terrible father, he's not the worst father in anime, that's reserved for one Mr. Gendo Ikari.

i dont think he even comes close to “worst fathers in anime “ sure he abandon gon, but gon is still a child. he barely missed gons life. not to mention gone questionable morality, HE NEVER CARED. he never got emotional of it. so i dont understand how people inflate how terrible ging is compared to other anime characters

See i could argue that what ppl like u do is worse. Its like u give gin a slight pass simply because theres other worse fathers in anime. Like no one is asking u to compare u can just say gin is a bad father without adding a BUT THERES WORSE FATHERS IN OTHER ANIMES at the end.

Ging being his smart self even if it's frustrating to deal with him he's not wrong but also if something you don't know and someone tells you without giving the exact answer can also be thought of when All Might told Deku to think for himself, when Deku was thinking of an ultamate move, plus another part of a different episode makes it kinda relatable to like ging. But then I guess that's another comment to leave when that episode happens. These elections are taking there time... Would definitely not want to be retaking it that much let alone being locked in that room with a lot of people, amongst other things...

Katsuki, whatever show comes next, whether it's Dr Stone, Black Clover, or even bloody Naruto, at least we'll be able to put these stupid Ging discussions to bed once Hunter x Hunter ends. I haven't followed the entire show, and even I'm tired of it. 🫩 (Side note: if they DO pick Dr Stone, we'll get to finally talk about arguably the BEST dad in anime. 👨🏼‍🚀)

I am still SO pissed how robbed Orb was. Only nominated for best Drama, and lost to Apothecary Diaries, which don't get me wrong, I love Apothecary Diaries, but Orb is like the anime of the decade, it's in an entirely different category that no other regular show can hold a candle to. Tbh it's kinda says something that most of the awards went to the same handful of shows in every category.

It's kind of why Pariston is so frustratingly annoying too. He may be a slimeball, but he is very good at playing politics. Also I think tonally there is a reason Gon stops referring to him as Dad after the return to Whale Island. Ging is just an idea to him, and they don't really have a negative or positive relationship. It feels to me like it's meant to signal that Gon doesn't really think of him as a dad and neither should we.

I do hope it eventually comes to pass, thought there is one potential flaw with the compact in that depending on how close the number got to 270, demographic shifts could cause the number to shift back below 270 even if it was reached. Hopefully by the time it could come up something is done to mitigate that though. It wouldn't really get rid of the EC at all, just circumvent it. Which as has been abundantly displayed in the last decade, is a small but important distinction.

Alright fine bait taken. So I definitely don't want to defend the Electoral College because it's kind of a bad system only used because the founders couldn't agree on a better one. There are probably some amount of logical arguments one could make for the EC, though that doesn't make them good. For instance, even in today's age where information is readily available a shocking number of people just based on vibes and/or single issues without really paying much attention; in theory the EC is supposed to be a backstop for an uninformed public making catastrophic mistakes like, for example, electing a 34 time convicted felon because people like his vibes. Even in the best light it's long since ceased to function in it's theoretical role in any sense. I also think there are other factors that make it worse such as (I'm not 100% sure about this one) it originally being conceived to function the way Maine and Nebraska choose electors, where it isn't winner-take-all. Also the House being arbitrarily capped at 435 people has had the downstream effect of increasing the representative power of small states, to the point where individual voting power in larger states is greatly diminished. This one is a problem in it's own right. Point is: the EC sucks, people have been arguing against it since it's inception, and we should all try to get the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact signed on to. Also voter apathy is probably still the far bigger issue with US elections; 65% during 2020 is appallingly low and yet also the highest turnout ever recorded. The average over the last few decades is more like 55%. I also am fairly confident in guessing that perceived powerlessness caused by the EC is part of the cause for voter apathy.

I would like, greatly argue that the worst Father in anime would go to Bondrewd or Shou Tucker over guy who just hates his son and loves his wife. Bondrewd has actively taken care of so many children and all but one and a half end up basically dead or in a state far worse than that due to his experiments. I mean for christ sake he keeps them as nothing but living organs inside little boxes just so he doesn't have to take on the curse of the Abyss. And Shou Tucker is also just Bondrewd but far more selfish in his reasoning because his science doesn't actually do shit to progress the world unlike Bondrewd

Once again, the Ging "defenders" aren't saying he's not a bad Dad, even HE knows he's not cut out to be a Dad, it just gets tiring seeing people mindlessly dogpile a character to the point of sighing when the scene cuts to him, and those of us who don't add to the dogpile get dogpiled ourselves. The fact that many people respond more positively to the presence and actions of Hisoka than Ging really does go to show how overwhelmingly powerful charisma is on people. Even in modern day media, people can say the most vile, deplorable things to each other but say it with a nice voice or add "hun" or "friend" and maybe even a few cute emojis at the end and they'll get a million updoots on whatever platform they're on, but if one person flatly states a harsh truth or a basic crude opinion like "you're ugly/annoying", people while dogpile that person because it didn't make them "feel" as good to hear what they had to say. Even now, everything I'm saying could probably be more well received if I tried to emotionally appeal to people by hopping on a hate train and dumb down my speech by going: "YAAASS Ging is such a BAD DAD😤 WE STAN GOOD PARENTS🥰✊"

No one ever talks about this but if gon and gin are so alike what’s stopping us from thinking gon isn’t capable of doing the same to his son and if that were the case would you hate gon as much as gin? Or would you be bias since you saw gons journey and bonded with him and gin is basically a stranger.
