I think the powerlines is an Evangelion reference, a way to set up a scene dealing with human connection.... There is more than a few references to Evangelion in my opinion

By the way, Momo's grandma hitting people with a fan and calling them a fruit (or, more specifically, Okarun and Turbo Granny's responses to getting hit with the fan) are references to the Japanese drama show "Mr. Kinpachi in Class 3B". Okarun even says that "Kinpachi-sensei never called anyone a rotten orange."

This show has a TON of references to other media, not just Evangelion. Most of them are blink-and-you'll-miss-it.

By the way, when Okarun asked if being friend with him was that much embarrassing, you can see Momo's earring tilting a little: she was ready to answer "of course not" but had to control herself HARD to actually stay mad

Yeah there was another teacher who was a read hardass and like, hated the delinquent students, who called them rotten tangerines, used corporal punishment, etc. Kinpachi-sensei was always at odds with him due to their different teaching philosophies.

TFW you realize Turbo Granny is blowing the hairdryer in her face so she can feel what it’s like to run fast again because she misses it. 😭 Turbo Granny is awesome, I was so happy to learn she was going to stick around and be an important character. She’s so important to understanding the nature of curses and ghosts in the show. As a cursed spirit, her nature is to be cruel and murderous, it’s just how she is. Kind of like how a tiger doesn’t choose to hunt and kill. But like any animal, nature can be overcome with familiarity and care.

Miko and Muko are the goats. You can tell they're good friends when, even though they seem to be fighting, they can tell how good Okarun is for Momo. Fun fact, Okarun's voice actor, AJ Beckles, is dating Muko's (tan girl), who also voices Mirko from MHA.

ik y’all’s schedule is pretty packed,, but if you have time a double upload of episodes 6 and 7 would be so good 😭 i’m sure episode 7 is one of the most highly anticipated of the season and 6 is a bit of a cliff hanger
