With his groupies, Oikawa already feels like the Jinshi of this series. That being said, he's an example of something Haikyu does really well: even the rival characters to Karasuno are mostly likable.

Pretty good. I'm halfway through this first season myself, and I've been loving how much they enjoy this show. Montana having volleyball experience has been the best part of this reaction so far. 🏐

Glad to hear it!! Oh for sure :)) her prior knowledge makes it so interesting to see how she interpets the show. But also kinda love Kenny's lack of knowledge leading to the creation of the genius that is 'the Kenny method' 🤣

He may, when we see more of him later on. David Wald's voice is pretty recognizable. I mainly know him as the Iron Dragon Slayer Gajeel from Fairy Tail, ANOTHER hothead with metal powers. Guess he has a type. 😂

"How did this guy get hired". Takeda is actually just a faculty advisor so kind of yes no one else would take the job. He is a literature teacher though which is one of the reasons he speaks so poetically.

I love that the stakes for this show are ultimately extremely small, but they are also deeply personal so it still feels really intense

Nice that Kenny and Montana can enjoy a cozy watch, for a change. In most shows they watch, the stakes are so flipping high. 😥

One of my favorite things about Haikyu is how they treat opposing players. Lots of sports anime have a tendency to villainize opposing teams and such while Haikyu makes it clear that these are all high schoolers going after the same dream

Yeah the only character so far who needed to "chill out" was Kageyama, and he did exactly that in record time.
