The part where the English voice actors yell out a bunch of Japanese song lyrics is from the Anime Slam Dunk which pretty much all the Japanese audience would be familiar with. It’s a sports anime about basketball and basically Momo was the ball. Basically Ken said “I’m going for it!” and Jiji matched his freak, which Jiji is gonna do :) Good on the dub team for just keeping it but it’s confusing for non-Japanese. DanDaDan is a very Japanese show with lots of in-jokes for that audience.

I'm glad the wait wasn't that long, but that doesn't make the cliffhanger any less diabolical. Especially considering that wasn't how the manga went. There was no cliffhanger.

I am curious how Momo's powers work, as it's like the least explored ability in the series. What if it's hereditary, and Seiko can/could do it, too?

Id like some more explinatipn of it too, i know the manga has like 24 volumes and the anime is only on volume 9 so maybe there will be more on it but i havent read it

The cliffhanger was left there for six months, BTW. Supposedly, the second season was originally going to be a second half to the first season, but they changed it after the first season finished airing so it'd be a second season instead.

I'm glad I decided to watch season one less than a month before the show picked back up last year, cause I would've gone STRAIGHT to the manga after that terrible cliffhanger. (Still read the manga, but later haha)

For sure. Most times adults tend to write kids like mini adults, but the cringe is kind of the point. They're just inexperienced and floundering which is what makes it so hard to watch but is also way more common than people who have their shit together at that age.

It lowkey kind of ruined it for me. I still haven't watched more than !2 episodes from s2 because the break just killed the momentum. Excited to get back to it now though. I'm hoping Witch Hat Atelier doesn't have as long a break.

That show's cliffhanger wasn't as bad, but it still wasn't good. I made the decision two episodes in that I would check out the manga once season one ended, but that cliffhanger kind of left me no choice.

Yeah. I've been holding off but I probably will at some point. Though I like DDD, Witch Hat is just so much better for me so I'm far more inclined to pursue it outside the anime.

I swear Kenny and Montana are so adorable. When he pauses and is like “you like the candy” and she’s like “ I appreciate someone who brings snacks” I definitely imagine home buying her snacks later to make her happy

Man, I can't believe they're already done with season one, with just another twelve episodes left. I know season three is confirmed to come out next year, but the news that it would be January ended up being false, so we don't know how long we have to wait.
