Do you think Maomao will ever realize Jinshi loves her before he has to spell it out to her a hundred times?

it’s often remarked upon how sad it is that Maomao dances from a distance while both her parents who she never had a real relationship with get married. Why do you think she decides to dance anyway?

What are your thoughts on Maomao’s emotions regarding Lakan? She has known his story the whole time, and knew he was not to blame for these circumstances but still clearly dislikes him. In spite of that she still gave him the chance to reunite with the woman he adored (and in the books she even hid a note with the flower in case he didn’t infer the meaning of the preserved rose), what do you think this says about her?

Wait, did she? I thought the tragedy was that Maomao was kept in the dark by the old lady of the Verdigris House.

No she’s been aware! Her adoptive father has made her aware of the story, the Madam was just hiding Fengxian from Lakan, and allowing Maomao to choose to hide from Lakan Maomao is an unreliable narrator so while she knew Lakan’s deal this whole time, she just wasn’t allowing for us as the viewer to be aware of these facts which is why we and Jinshi were viewing him as a creep, because a good chunk of the time we were viewing him the way Maomao wanted us to see him She knew Fengxian came up with the plot that led to Maomao’s conception, hence “women are devious creatures” if anything she blames Fengxian for the trials she had to go through as a child more than she does Lakan She mainly just doesn’t like him all that much because to her she already had a dad, and didnt like that he was trying to replace him (even if he’d still be a member of her family since Luomen is Lakan’s uncle lol)

I also have been kinda "bruh..." about this specific thing with maomao because like I get initially hating him and all but after a long time and knowing the truth and the circumstances she's still so vehemently creeped out by him

Same but also can’t force the girl to like the man no matter how much I love him (because he’s genuinely my favorite character behind Jinshi and Maomao lol) It is interesting to see how their interactions have evolved through the books but that’s all I’ll say cause spoilers hehehe
