When the Eunuch implied that it could be wise to bring Maomao in as an imperial consort to thin the bloodline, the Emperor laughed stating he would “rather die than risk becoming an enemy of Lakan,” if even the Emperor fears Lakan, what are your thoughts on Jinshi’s chances with Maomao?

StorytellerDave

The emperor is kind of an enigmatic character in this show so far, with this episode perhaps giving the most information on him up to this point, did it change at all how you see him and what do you think of him?

Despite Maomao’s usual indifference, she gets pretty heated when the Eunuch says that she couldn’t do it but her Father probably could, what do you think this says about Maomao’s relationship with her Father?

The Emperor’s younger brother would be the absolute strongest candidate to try and make moves on his throne, yet here the Emperor seems to essentially set Jinshi up to pass the ~Shrine of Legitimate Claims~ when he himself (repeatedly) could not. What do you think this says about their dynamic or the Emperor’s thoughts?

Previously you predicted that jinshi is in fact lady Ah-Duo's son that she switched with the Empress Dowager, do you still think that to be true? If so, does the Emporer know or do you think he is in the dark?

This episode starts with a dream/memory Jinshi is having. It is theorized that as a child he was so beautiful that he could be mistaken for as a girl, and at this scene the emperor at the time was close to doing his usual song and dance with jinshi if the Empress Dowager hadn't stepped in. Knowing this now how dose this further effect your perspective of the Empress Dowager?
