the point of the non-benders mimicing bending is that Everyone can spend time and make those abilities. benders do not need the time to get the abilities, they just have them. equality is putting everyone on the same level, if they want more; they need to work for it.

LabyrinthSouls

I always assumed that pabu was a red panda-ferret and the choice to use “ fire” instead of “red panda ” was because another name for red panda is “fire fox”.

Also the bender issue is not that they can’t bend and benders can. It’s not that benders are strong and non benders aren’t. It’s that most industrial and modern age jobs are bending dependent and bending criminals haras non benders and extort them for money. And that most of the governing bodies of the world are run by benders. I’m not saying Amon is right or justified In His actions. But it makes sense that common nonbenders would believe in his ideology. Also it’s unfair and not realistic to tell every non bender that they have to work really hard to learn a fighting technique to be in equal footing with benders socially and economically. Not every person is made to be a fighter. And again, the forgetting part isn’t the problem. It’s the power dynamic

What a flawless into

Will M.

Ayeeee you finally got the into down

Will M.

1. I feel like I could definitely see you guys running a farm for strange animals lol 2. Also think about the fact that non benders may also feel oppressed in the workforce because there are obviously jobs they can't do, as shown when Mako and the other lightning benders were working in the factory

Rory Fitz

Pabu is a fire ferret! Hence their team name “Fire Ferrets”

Chris Shinya

Great episode guys!! How scary is Amon?😰😱

IncompleteBiped

Pabu is a Fire Ferret the way Momo is a Flying Lemur (without being mixed). While Aang called Appa his Sky Bison, most of the time others called him a Wind Buffalo, so it parralels.

IncompleteBiped

Equalists using weapons vs Benders with their bending: consider this, the electric weapon that he is using is essentially powered by benders because more than likely it has to be charged and further it offers a distinct advantage over bending because a bender will get tired and unable to bend where as a non-bender could just keep zapping.

Russell DiGate

It's amazing to watch them enjoy the new series without comparing to ATLA, it's such a different show but so good in its own right and I love to see their raw reactions to another fantastic addition to the avatar universe.

Andrew G

Oh. Oh, damn, Kenny! you made a really good point about Pabu! I also always thought it was weird he wasn’t a hybrid animal but it never even occurred to me that there probably ARE ATLA universe-indigenous species. I literally never noticed Appa doesn’t have a hybrid nomenclature, nor does Momo. That’s wild. Wow.

Schreiber

Appa was originally designed as a bison-manatee hybrid, although the manatee aspects were toned down after the initial art (which was released in an artbook).
