With Annie earlier trying to abduct Eren and now Reiner and Bertholdt trying to kidnap Eren and Ymir, what do you suspect they want with humans who can also turn into titans?

After being betrayed by Annie, and learning about Ymir, Reiner and Bertholdt, does it now make sense that Captain Erwin only trusted the people who were already in his squad before the first attack on the first episode ( planning to capture The Female Titan in the forest)?
