Ahhh I was just watching the last one while filling out grad school apps. What a pleasant surprise :) your guys's videos are always nice during a stressful time!

I’m so excited for y’all to get into Season 3, that’s when the show and characters start to get REALLY good imo

John Alexander

This episode finally proves that Hordak lied to Scorpia about how he came to possess the Black Garnet. She'd said before that her family had joined the Horde & given Hordak the garnet as a gift but in Lightspinner's vision you see scorpion people on their knees being taken prisoner by the Horde.

Suplee215

Hordak just casually hands Shadow Weaver a baby. I feel like that image is the most absurd image in the show and we have a talking sassy unicorn

Chloe

Double She-Ra in one day we have truly been blessed! Can't wait for you guys to watch season 3 things reallllyyy start to pick up from there

ZackTh3Ripp3r

so looking forward to season 3! and yeah, poor Catra has it rough

Ah Entrapdak. The ship no one expects but is somehow a thing in this Fandom. Also Entrapta is roughly 28 years old (the head character designer said she's about their age when they were 29). The fact that she seems a lot younger is part of her being on the spectrum. (Did not expect to info dump here but feel likenits worth repeating even if insaid it in the Halloween stream)

Based on Rae Geiger’s comment about them being similarly aged, Entrapa could even be in her early 30s! ((Just reinforcing your point about Entrapta being older than often assumed. Not contradicting!))

Suplee215
>>71132072

Yea. Article I read said Rae Geiger was 29 when they made the statement. I just said 28 as I see many people say that as the age and don't know if it comes from more than just the Rae Geiger or not

Entrapdak really is the ship that takes everyone by surprise. I wasn't really into it at first but the show really convinced me as it went on. I'm curious to see if Kenny and Montana's opinions change in later seasons.

It fits in nicely with the show's overarching theme of nobody really being unredeemable if they realise their mistakes and try to change and grow. When else do you ever see Hordak admitting someone on this backwater planet is even his equal much less better than him at science? :)

Who else watches these and gets really excited when they just predict things waaaay in advance? Or have a prediction that's just to the left of the real thing? It's wonderful to watch 😊

I had like 20 moments where I'm like "o this is going to break them in 3 episodes or 2 seasons or whatever"

There are many situations that Light Spinner/Shadow Weaver handles in questionable/straight-up terrible ways. I do think there are areas of this backstory that do help understand and even emphasize with Light Spinner. I’m not saying it’s redemption-worthy, but it does open the door to her struggles and shows she is in a way trapped in her cycle of trauma and poor decisions. This show does an excellent job at parallels in storytelling and encouraging the audience to understand that life isn’t as definitive and explanatory as we’d like it to be.

I’m still totally in the mindset that she’s shit for simply the way she chose to raise Adorra and Catra btw. As someone who appreciates shows with complex characters though, I thought it was important and even cool to get this this type of insight into who she is.

Suplee215
>>71172789

Agreed. She's not evil for the sake of being evil. Even if we aren't told exactly what her own abuse was like, she is very relatable. Which is the scary part. Montana often talks about shadow weaver and how catra and adora reacts tk her abuse with "this is what happens in real life" which in many ways makes her even more horrifying

Got S4 Vietnam Flashbacks when they answered question two OOF

Shadow Weaver saying she wasn't born to power and had to earn it really reminded me of Jafar from the live action version of Aladin. He was a common street thief and worked/manipulated his way up to second in command of someone in a position of power.

This episode makes me cry every time. I honestly feel like it's sadder the more times you watch it and the more you get to know Catra. All the details the creators put in are incredible. She is such a well-written villain. Catra feeling comforted and being excited after that interaction with Shadow Weaver is SO painful. Before that moment she really hadn't been able to catch a break, and then to find out that Shadow Weaver being nice wasn't genuine.. Personally, that would be enough to send me spiraling, so it's just really sad to see. Being manipulated like that is so confusing and traumatic. I don't wish it on anybody.

>>71122572

wow I didn't even realize that until this comment! but I actually think it was more likely the higher ranking officers and the people put in charge of raising Scorpia that told her that. Idk I kind of feel like Hordak himself didn't care enough about Scorpia or really even know enough about the runestone to try and make a story for Scorpia to digest easier.

lol yeah, not the pairing I expected to be hyped at all, but I get it. shipping is fun. lmao I think there's a lot more that can be said later in the series about it.

John Alexander

since you brought it up first *deep breath* let's do this: Entrapdak (no spoilers, I swear) Right the first thing we need to do is realign our perception a little. So on Earth, humans evolved to use "romantic love" in order to make reproduction more successful. In other words, where we come from "romantic love" is an evolutionary adaptation to facilitate sex. That means we tend to look at love in terms of; romantic love vs familial love vs platonic love right ? However we simply have no evidence to suggest that Etheria is the same, like at all. There is in fact a pretty decent amount of evidence to suggest the opposite. Tl/dr, on Etheria it is common for romantic love to exist without the "endgame" being sex/reproduction. I'm not even sure reproduction on Etheria is sex-based. We see a bunch of kids & not one pregnant person, ever. Additionally, we see two characters of the same gender who have multiple children & there is NEVER any mention of a mother, nobody even acts as if there needed to be a mother. All of this is to say that I think the people that made this show were consciously trying to show us romantic love without the over-arching goal of sex. I'm not really sure if this is a defence of Entrapdak, per se but on that subject I would just like to add... I GAVE MYSELF A NAME !!!!

There are soooo many moments where I'm just having to pretend that it doesn't exist 😂 because I know how much things will hurt eventually ☹💔

Angella and Glimmer are mother and daugther and Micah was her father ... Glimmer even calls Angella this way. Glimmers upset MOOOOM! shout in S1E1 is priceless and Angella explaning in S1E3 to Adora that she greatly loves her daughter and thats why she has given Adora the chance to stay in Brightmoon. And seriously its a kids show with some great representations for differences in personalities, character traits, orientations, psyches as examples of inner values as well as body types, skin colors and everything else that exists in terms of physical appearances. This show does not need any further topics it stands for itself!

Cassandra Nightshade

i will bet that by the end of the series you guys will be fans of entrapdak. also she's almost 30 so the age is defs not an issue ;)
