One of the best speeches in all anime

Owen Madden

Every time I see that final speech I cry bro

fr0st

thank you, kenny, you absolute editing beast!

Rebvv

omg another one?! XD you're on fire! thx a ton

Ty

thank you so much!

Chelle

Wow, I think Erwin’s final speech actually hits harder in dub. And I say this as someone that generally prefers sub. Bravo 👏👏👏

Erik De La Cruz

You guys reacting to S4 is going to be so lit 🔥 🔥🔥

ajams22

Oh no the next one is gonna hurt 🥲

NauticalApollo

Absolutely incredible episode! Can't wait for the next one!

Giorgio Zanni

I'm ready to cry yet again with Hero tomorrow 😭

AJ Hutchinson

I have 100% listen to Erwin both to hype me up or to cry

Damien Stevenson

It’s the meds. Love it. Need next reaction now 🙏🏽

Visenna

I'm already not prepared for the next episode

Christopher Johnson

Since you're looking for anime recommendations I'll give a quick elevator pitch for 3 that I think you should consider. I'll leave out death note because it looks like most people already comment this. First and foremost, Moriarty the Patriot. 10/10 best anime I've ever seen. It makes AoT look pedestrian. MtP is what Death Note wanted to be. The political, moral, and psychological themes will give you both so much to talk about in your spheres of knowledge. Watching you and Montana predict and break down the crimes and plans would be some of the best reaction content I've seen. I can promise with this anime you'll get a great genius counter, multiple simp counters, and 24 perfect episodes. Next is Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. This is kind of the midway point between AoT and Avatar for me. Dark and Political themes, light and fun characters, and more than enough characters you can really fall in love with. Prepare for tear bending pretty regularly. Finally I'll recommend My Hero Academia. It's a great place for you guys to be and really close to your roots with Avatar. It has unique themes about heroism and the psychology behind it explored through deeply interesting characters and arcs paired with some of that light air of playfulness that much of Avatar had.

AverageAnime

Anyone else think for a second he was talking about the She-ra episode that's called "Hero"?

Geno

being done for the night is just another cliffhanger you give us lmao

viss biss

Bought the Patreon to watch the reaction to this specific episode and it did not disappoint, such an impactful speech Erwin gives.

viss biss

The greatest part of it too is that erwin once told Levi if he would be able to make this sort of choice back in the no regrets OVA, and now here he is when erwin feels so confused as to what to do Levi makes the hardest choice for him. To risk it all on a shot at the beast, so save humanity. Crazy how really everything comes back around full circle in this series. BRILLIANT!!

Adnaan Khan

What I wanna know is your new budget for tissues for all these tears y'all are going to be shedding 😭✌🏼 not that you weren't tearbending enough, but now it's going to be like the tears are bending you 😂💧

JennatheBreadQueen

i am absolutely crying in the club right now. i remember watching this episode (this is my first anime since pokemon indigo league) and i was CONVINCED that somehow they would come out of it. SURPRISE ME FROM THE PAST

JennatheBreadQueen

and kenny i gotta start asking about acting perspective for some of this stuff!! voice acting, especially for powerful moments like this, makes all the difference in how it's viewed by audiences

Matt Hanna

Erwin is by farrrrrr my favorite character in the show and every time I watch this scene it gets me. He had me ready to ride out with them. My mans J Michael Tatum really went hard in the booth. Absolute legend.

Sean Carroll

Kennny: “Hero is the greatest episode of attack on titan”. Me: “The greatest episode of attack on titan.. so far”. Citation (Homer Simpson, Simpsons movie, 2007)

Sean Carroll

PLEASE HERO AND MIDNIGHT SUN TOMORROW

fr0st

oh man, what a powerful speech. Montana is already in tears and it's not even time for Hero yet. Emotionally exhausting!

Peter Film
>>75976530

Always thought this too, Sub v Dub is a huge debate but AOT is my example for good Dubs!

Peter Film
>>75979399

ain't no way you said "what Death Note wanted to be" c'mon respect the elders haha

Peter Film
>>75984109

Kenny "this is the best arc" me "oh he hasn't caught up yet" really only gets better, esp this Sunday XD

Sean Carroll

Montana didnt even jump around like crazy when the rocks hit, she has truly gotten used to the brutality of this show and respected the scene by not looking away

Mike burns

Okay literally not breathing until next episode is out

KariOne

Next episode now

LeFlaneur

Kenny with the stealth no context spoilers in his questions 😩😆

Death note lost it’s way in the latter episodes and was a bit weak thematically. MtP saw those flaws and corrected them with more nuanced characters and interesting philosophies.

Letts React
>>75976924

Can you imagine when we hit season 4 episode 7 and all the sudden we will both be reacting for the first time?

Kathryn Finch
>>75979399

I'm gonna hold you to that "make AOT look pedestrian" comment, I'll have to check out this anime

Christopher Johnson
>>75979399

One factor in that statement is factoring in how many episodes it has. AoT is grander, but MtP is so much denser with more themes and develops at a much better pace.

Alex

*deep breath* and so begins the trilogy of pain. Can't believe we're here already. The next episode can't come out soon enough, though when it does I don't know if i'll be ready to watch her reaction. The tear bending will be off the chain!

exhausted

Death note is a fantastic show and the dub is top notch, honestly one of the best I've seen at all in anime. The mental gymnastics y'all would be making while watching it is mwah. And even though its got little hope against the other options, I'm still rooting for Violet Evergarden. It is a masterpiece in a handful of episodes and its easily the most beautifully animated series I've ever watched.

Leo Noa

This is one of the first times with Montana tearbending that I felt like she genuinely needed a hug and honestly that’s how powerful this show is

ggm334
>>76011430

Violet Evergarden is a great suggestion! I had totally forgotten about it. Every single shot is a work of art. I would totally recommend it too. Death not goes without saying, it just doesn't let you relax and I think that's what they enjoy about AoT as well.

ggm334
>>75979399

I enjoyed MtP as well but after a while I realised that it's actually unoriginal. Even though it's not like any other anime (except for maybe Death Note a little), it's clear that many ideas of MtP are veeeery repetitive from classical western literature. Like it has literally copied some of the very relevant ideas from Dumas, Dostoevsky and even Conan Doyle into the plot, literally unchanged and it only hit me on the on the rewatch after the new batch of episodes came out in spring. One of the reasons it's not that popular for the western audience is that even the plot is repetitive of the western literature that people in Europe and the Americas are more familiar with. So chances are they will not be as surprised. Also, I will add, that in anime, Death Note, Monster and even Baccano have some of the main ideas of MtP already covered pretty well. Still a good show to watch but as far as the order goes, I'd still recommend Death Note first.

pineapplegreg

I've seen this episode twice before but this is the first time I cried. Waching you anazlyze and give your thoughts give it a whole new meaning that I didn't see before, things I missed. Thanks for what you guys do!

JT

Erwin became the man he always pretended to be.

Joe Dunams

Montana breaking down baseballs terms is interesting but i wanted to make sure to wait until after the basement episode to ask. Did you ever wonder how the beast titan knows what baseball is? lol. Just one of those little things they throw in that most of miss the first time.

Trey
>>76600737

Exactly! Its so sly! She thought about his pitching in baseball terms but still didn’t realize that Erwin and Levi would have no idea what he’s talking about.

Ashley Garcia

The first time I watched I was in full denial, but rewatching w y’all, and watching Montana cry, it hit hard. Erwin is such ab great character. This scene is so amazing.

andy lin

Man Erwin makes me want to avenge my family who’s still alive

Zaid Syed

still one of the best episodes of the show
