Montana: seems like there is no way to fix it eren: hold my cup *rumbling music starts*

Ray

PUPPPPPPPPPPYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Chloe

thanks for a great b-day suprise!!

Cas_nc12

As much as I hate floch I think he has room to complain he did go through the mission and have all of his comrades die around him

freshfruitbox

Levi absolutely got emotional when deciding between Armin and Erwin, i dont particularly like Floch myself but he had a point.

Santino Veerman
>>77212221

I think so many people at this point in the show don't like what he says because he is a new character but every little thing he says makes sense. He only speaks up because Armin addresses the topic and I see little wrong in what he says. It's the fact that we don't know who he is that people dislike him going against 'our' characters but I always loved this scene of his

Macayla Cody

What breed is Appa? Bc I have 3 Siberian Huskies and they look like Appa, but there are also other breeds that look like huskies

christian

These are both one season animes but "Yuri! on Ice" and "Sk8 the Infinity" are very good and very gay <3

Izrail Gevorgyan

Y’all are gonna be AMAZED by season 4… I’m so excited

Mya

awww appa is so cuteee i want himmmm!!!! <3

Ryne C. Snyder

Holy shit Montana coming in with the expert level analysis

JennatheBreadQueen

this is such a gorgeous episode and i got emotional all over again seeing armin see the sea for the first time! i’m so excited to see what y’all think of season 4, and it was so cool seeing kenny and montana get to theorize together. it was fun watching kenny panicking and going “that’s an interesting thought🥲” but now i feel like there’s so much room for analysis WHICH WE LOVE IN THIS HOUSE

Daolord Badlands

I understand where you guys are coming from about Floch, but the only reason Floch started saying any of that was because Armin brought it up. also, while Floch may not have gone through what the other characters did, he still went through Hell and back fighting against the Beast Titan. I think willingly (Erwin didn't force anyone, he persuaded them) participating in a suicide charge and being the only survivor gives him the right to speak.

Matthew Jobin

I think Floch absolutely has room to have a rebuttal to their choice to revive Armin. Sure, without Armin, they wouldn't have defeated the Colossal Titan, but without Floch and literally *every other one of his comrades* they never would've given Levi the chance to take down the Beast Titan, which would have left both him and the Quadruped free to continue attacking, as well as all of the other titans the Beast Titan summoned. Aside from that, outside of the eight other scouts alive who know Armin, Floch has no idea how instrumental Armin has been before this. Eren mentions it while they argue over who to revive, but I doubt he was really listening because of the horrific event he just survived, and why would he? Erwin is the obvious choice to most people, and maybe even the right choice. You can dislike Floch, that's fair, but I don't feel its accurate to say he has no right to argue about what they did, even during a memorial to fallen scouts. What he went through and witnessed changed him, as it would a lot of people. One more thing, regarding him being self-aware that he's a coward, and that not mattering because he had a choice, he wasn't complaining about being fodder, he accepted that. He just felt that by picking Armin, they sentenced them all to death due to selfishness, instead of valuing the lives of everyone who joins the scouts. form this point on. Rant over lol.

Edwin Ayala

Armin: hey guys check out my shell!! Eren: hmmmm……maybe genocide’s not a bad idea…..

karstenj10

Personally, season 4 is my favorite season because it goes into a brand new, sort of untraditional evolution of a show where it changes so much toward the end of the story. But I think both Kenny and Montana will find it fascinating considering how much they loved season 3. Also also Montana is just a genius at putting things together, some theories hit and some don’t but not many (including myself and my friends) were able to connect so many plot points like she does during their first watch through. Huge props and I’m glad u both enjoyed aot this far 👏

fr0st

Kenny's absolutely horrible puns give me life. :D

karstenj10

Already commented something but I also gotta say that Eren kissing Historia’s hand is in my personal opinion, the most important scene in all of Attack on Titan. Seems very insignificant at first but I can’t wait to see Kenny and Montana catch up along with the rest of us and learn the true significance of seasons 1-3

Kaboshi

I think its easy to hate floch because hes just some new kid that was introduced near the end of season 3 while we've been attached to everyone else since S1 and have more history with them. I think its just in our nature to side with people we've been with longer. That being said I don't like floch either xD.

Deebus
>>77212221

The one thing iseyama is fantastic at is exposing the readers bias and then playing with it and that scene is no exception even though it’s a smaller example

karstenj10

Fun fact: the final end credit scene is Armin sitting in front of Annie (she’s crystallized) while holding the shell. Also Montana totally nailed the symbolism of the shell, obviously nobody knows the real reason as to why Isayama included the shell but most go with the hermit crab idea of “outgrowing the shell” because the show is about to evolve into a whole new concept

Wildwolfrider

I loved season 3 of aot but season 4 is a big turning point for the show and it is amazing and just so interesting also it's so emotional. I can't wait, as always love your reactions. Also, for the next anime, I have never seen the two animes you stated so watching them for the first time with you could be fun however my favourite amine is My hero academia and it would be fun to see you watch it.

Matthew Johnson

Seeing both of you react to Arcane would be amazing

fr0st

"Eren looks like he read the manga" Amazing!

fr0st
>>77214754

It's an interesting perspective. I think it's shitty of Floch, no matter his feelings and whether they are valid or not, to bring this up now and in this location. They are all mourning comrades, and the you only saved your friend argument absolutely falls flat because Levi and Erwin were very close. A superior officer made the choice and he can make his feelings known to that office in private but yelling about it to Armin is basically saying I wish you had died and also giving everyone else leeway to treat Armin like crap because they also privately agree with Erwin being the best recipient. Everyone present in the Scout forces is mourning people they have been close to and known far longer than Floch knew anyone so to push aside their grieving and paying respect to the fall with complaining about something that literally can't be changed at this point is a shitty thing to do.

fr0st

Wow, Montana bringing up the hermit crab was really interesting and something I had never thought of. I suspect the hermit crab shell may also symbolise Eren's moving from one more naive viewpoint to a somewhat different one but it works on lots of levels so it's a really interesting observation.

Robert

Floch is literally the only survivor from Erwin's charge, he has a right to say whatever he wants. People just don't like that he's going against the main 3.

Chelly
>>77216361

Kenny kind of started to but I think he’s focusing on the other two shows rn

Santino Veerman
>>77214754

To be fair, Armin and Jean started all this. Jean basically forced him to tell Hitch a half truth and Armin straight up spoke to Floch about how he wanted Erwin saved. As for Floch, he lost close friends, friends he must have been with since his days as a cadet like our main characters. He lost all his fellow recruits, Marlowe who he must have looked up to to some degree, Sandra and Gordon who had been beside him ever since his introduction. All that he said is because others kept pushing and pulling at him in that moment while he is mourning in his own way.

Chelly
>>77219972

Read the stuff under this post, they haven’t watched any more yet

Lucas Barros
>>77218177

I think his reaction is extremely understandable, but what makes him wrong in my opinion is the way he talks like their decision was just plain wrong. It was an extremely hard decision, and there wasn't a lot of time for it to be made. Erwin trusted Levi with this choice, so Levi's decision is the “right one” in that sense. But It's easy to judge a hard decision in retrospect, specially if you had strong feelings about it (like Floch). But at that moment, there was no right choice. There were only different options, with different good and bad sides to each. Floch acting like saving Armin was just wrong is what doesn't sit right with me. But, in the end, I just felt bad for him in this scene.

Sean Carroll
>>77214560

What exactly did he do wrong here? Absolutely nothing, you just don’t like him because you can’t handle criticism

Mojira

Demon Slayer, Arcane, Vinland Saga, Made in Abyss,

Santino Veerman
>>77218177

Saving Armin technically was wrong from a military and a logical point of view. From an emotional and humane point of view it was the right thing to do. However, neither side in the conflict on who to be saved held any respect for Levi's choice. In the moment Eren and Mikasa did not respect his decision, during the aftermath Floch and the military had no respect for his decision. What's kinda annoying his how everyone is giving Floch a hard time for speaking his mind while Armin asked his opinion, if anything Armin got an honest answer which is better than being lied to.

Robert
>>77218177

I'm just saying that if anyone has a right to say something about it, it's Floch. People ignore the fact that Floch wasn't saying anything about what happened until Armin addressed it. If Armin and the others didn't want to hear peoples opinions on the matter, they shouldn't bring it up.

Ashley Garcia
>>77214560

I’m not gonna have this argument for the 100th time lol everyone has their opinions, you like him? Good for you, you have your reasons. And I have my reasons for not liking him. Plain as that.

Ghost Turty

Can’t wait long enough for Season 4! Take your time though, not sure when Part 2 of season 4 is gonna start being dubbed

Sean Carroll

Did someone delete my comment about floch???

JennatheBreadQueen
>>77214560

ashley i agree i 100% wanna kick him. this was neither the time or place to say those kinds of things even if he did have a point (i don’t think he necessarily did but whatever). am i biased? yes absolutely 😌✌️

JennatheBreadQueen
>>77217889

i thought this too!!! isayama is absolutely all about symbolism, but i’ve never thought about the shell too much before. i thought montanas take was accurate and super interesting

JennatheBreadQueen
>>77225442

i was just thinking this. i’m watching with the subs rn bc i have zero self control, but i have the same auditory issues they have and it takes away from the experience a little. i think they’re going to start releasing the dubs sometime this month but i’m not sure

Mike Donohue

Season 4 is going to be everything, can’t wait til they catch up to Kenny

Marlon Torres

I really liked Montana's point about what that shell symbolized

Ashley Garcia
>>77214560

Okay 1) you’re so famous omg you ask the best questions lol 2)agreed! I understand that he’s been through a lot, thus his own reasons for being how he is, but he comes off in the worse way! And he just gets worse in the next season 😩 I’m probably biased too, but I’m okay w that lol

Ci-Ci
>>77216361

Yesss I think after AOT it would be fun to do arcane since it’s only one season and then move onto another anime! Montana would love and I can already tell Kenny was getting into it!

Ci-Ci

Loved the appa cameo 🤪 he’s gotten so big! I love him ☺️

Ci-Ci

Excited for season 4! I guess I’ll have to watch now so I can watch ur uploads 😂 I was tryin to hold off till it was all out but idk if I can anymore

katherine

Vote for anime- Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Anime suggestion- Fruits Basket 2019

PsychJay

Season FOUR HYYYYYYYPPPPPPEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

Taizen

That somber expression on Eren's face shows a changed man plagued with dark truths of the world. He's the only one on Paradis that has actually seen how horrible the outside world actually is. I hope you enjoyed watching Eren throughout this journey, because that person is gone forever.

Marcb92

Kenny’s hair looks great during this reaction! I’m I the only one who noticed?

Burgandy the Red

listen, youve GOT to try out PSYCHO-PASS. its a super incredible show with an actually well written female character who gets real character development along with a super utopian dystopia.

JennatheBreadQueen
>>77214560

WAIT OMG PLS THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! i love trying to come up with questions so i’m really happy you think so 🥲 and idk, i think even looking from a military and strategy perspective, saving armin still makes more sense. erwin was a brilliant strategist, but just like montana and kenny talked about in previous episodes, the reason they came so far in such a short amount of time was because of armin, not erwin. and if you’re planning for the future, i think it makes sense to go with the person that dreams beyond the horror and death of the titans. BUT IDK BRO IM JUST IN MY FEELS BUT TYSM I APPRECIATE YOH FOR VALIDATING ME

Shawn Spencer

ALL PRAISE KENNY, MONTANA, JENNY THE BREAD QUEEN and APPA for such an amazing show and reaction series so far!! So excited to see how y’all are gonna ready to what’s upcoming!! ❤️

Tyler Jacobs

If the vote is here then please watch Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. I'd heard of it for so long and then watched last year and it was worth the hype. Please check it out. Love y'all.

Santino Veerman
>>77214560

In my opinion Armin was the right choice from a humane point of view. From a military point of view, Erwin is always the better choice. Especially at this point where all knowledge has become public. Armin is amazing and could be a great leader as Hanji told Mikasa but to me they don't have the time to wait till Armin grows to be that leader. Armin has some amazing accomplishments but he is no Erwin or Pyxis who can make the tough calls, that's just not in his character

Karston James

MY heroooooooooo academia Please :)

ToastyPenguin

For an off kilter anime recommendedation that I think you'd love I have to recommend Silver Spoon. It's from the same author as FMAB, and because its focused on farming features a lot of different horses, the MC even joins the equestrian club. It's definitely more chill and maybe not something that would do well but if you're ever after something smaller to watch in the future I can't recommend it enough.

Kathryn Finch

I'm gonna vote for death note because I feel like it's a good bridge from the super bleakness of AOT into other anime but FMAB is also a really good anime

ggm334

As much as I dislike Floch as a character, he absolutely has the right to say whatever he wants in this situation. Sure, he doesn't understand why Armin was chosen but he has lived through an absolute horror. Think about it, every time someone sacrifices to save Eren, how much guilt he goes through, when Armin did it, he couldn't handle it because it was Armin. However on the other side of the wall hundreds of people did exactly what Armin did. Is Floch wrong to question the decision? Even if he had the knowledge of Armin's merits, he literally dragged Erwin from the battlefield full of his friends' corpses, the kids who were basically scammed by Erwin to join scouts and then literally suicide. If you can sympathise with Eren's guilt when somebody dies to save his life, you should find sympathy for him too. Having said that, I still hate Floch.

JennatheBreadQueen
>>77214560

i totally get that perspective santino! i tend to lean toward the more emotional side of things, which is absolutely why i feel that armin was the right choice. but truly that’s one of the things i love most about this series; these impossible choices, where the right decision is literally life or death for so many people. isayama does a great job setting these up and i love that we can have these discussions like this!! because i truly love both characters, and it was heartbreaking either way

Sean Carroll
>>77225538

That’s why it’s weird to me because I posted a comment saying that floch was essentially correct and justified in his comments to everyone and called Kenny and Montana’s reaction to him childish and lacking of logical thinking. I guess Kenny might have deleted it because he didn’t like what I said which actually proves my point even further

Alex Balian

Promised Neverland would be good and i think you both would like it

Kaboshi

As far as new anime recommendations, I'd like to recommend a movie you can find on Netflix. It's called A Silent Voice. Its a movie that's very close to my heart that deals with bullying, depression, redemption. I hope you consider it!

Ci-Ci
>>77225538

Calling people childish isn’t really constructive. I never saw your original comment but if you called them that I can understand why they deleted it if they did. There are ways to have a discussion and disagree with someone without bringing personal characteristics into it. As you can see there are many commenters on the post who disagree about K&M’s opinion on Floch but they weren’t removed because they did so constructively. Maybe it would be a good time introspect about how you communicate your beliefs on topics, as it seems you find yourself getting negative responses. There is a common denominator and it’s how you choose to discuss and disagree on topics. This is meant to be a fun space to discuss, not disparage others on their opinions on a TV show.

Gabriel Dobson
>>77251202

See I would agree, except for the atrocious second season. The first season is really good, but then they wouldn't know what happens if they just watch the 1st, and I doubt they're going to continue the series.

Cas_nc12
>>77251202

The promised Neverland Is a great show (for the first season) But I would more recommend it for a personal watch as the second season sucks and I hear they are really strict with copyright

Pesa

Another anime recommendation would be Haikyuu! It's a big turn from AOT but overall an amazing anime to watch if you enjoy sports, specifically volleyball! I can assure Montana that there will indeed be tearbending counts as well!!

AJ N

Levi did get emotional. He wanted Erwin to rest rather than fight. You're doing exactly what Floch accused Eren of doing, treating his friends as if they are more important than other people, when that's not the Scout's ideal: "give your heart to humanity," at any cost. I don't like Floch much but I think he represents what a lot of readers thought too about Eren's hypocrisy.

Ashley Garcia
>>77214560

Agreed! It’s just like they said, it was a hard situation with not enough time to be able to decide, but theirs no point in staring over it! And omg you’re so welcome! I always smile when they say your username!

Mo

DOGGY <3

Eric Miles

Don't really have a preference between FMAB or Death Note, if you go FMAB I'll be watching it 1st time with you, if you go Death Note it'll be a rewatch

bruhmingo

Yeah, Floch had every right to say what he did. He’s such an ass, but he has a point.

Daolord Badlands

Oh man, both death note and FMAB are so good. Death Note is a bit shorter so maybe start with that one? Ether way I'm hyped!

bellatrix_394

I'm glad you guys enjoyed the last happy scene, even if Eren was acting edgy, WELCOME TO SEASON 4, WELCOME TO HELL

D

You guys probably dont get a lot of suggestions for this, but I highly recommend watching the anime "Monster". Its one of the best written, psychological and emotional stories ever. It's relatively unknown due to coming out on Syfy back when Death Note was dominating mainstream anime viewers on Adult Swim. I can't give enough praise to it and I hope more people will recommend it or yall consider it!

William Timmins

All I can say about Flock is that I think a lot of his behavior is just redirected self hate.

Matt Lievens

I don't know that the crawling titan was necessarily a baby when it was transformed. Connie's Mom was also a deformed titan with little legs and arms, and she wasn't a baby when she was turned.

Yanki

Death note is very good 👍

TrixieTurner

Man after watching so many reactions I still can't get into Levi, I get why other people enjoy his character but it just never gelled for me. I also get why people dislike Floch so much but he never bothered me too much, I was just kinda meh on him. But I do love seeing any good Eren and Historia scenes.

Will Smyser .

Eren choosing to touch the (possibly baby) crawling titan might have been him seeing if he could sense any royal blood in it.

Mark Romero

LOL the Warrior "program" as if it was the boy scouts :D

timothy j turner

new to patreon here and just want to say there are not enough numbers to keep up with the Montana Genius Counter

Ryan

Omg just joined the Patreon awesome so far. Can’t wait for you guys to catch up in season 4. Just finished the newest episode. It is incredible!!

Peter Film
>>77225538

Never seen a more 'trying to start drama' comment in my life. Not the first time i seen Sean with deleted comments or arguments can you stop or is there a mod feature to mute this man? Seems like a continuous weekly issue?

Peter Film
>>77251202

Defs, i'd say if they see this they should remember and if a redo comes out (Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is the second anime of Fullmetal story) then watch Promised Neverland, if they never fix it then mayb watch S1 on ur own times!

Jacob Harmon

Oh no, I’m all caught up! 😭💜 I think Death Note would be a good successor to this, as a kind of tone match. I also think that it helps because FMA Brotherhood would pair better tonally after She-ra. Either way, I’m looking forward to all four of them!

Liz

If your looking for something different you guys should give Fruits Basket a try. Its not violent like AOT but the trama leave is similar. And its about the same lanth

LosDef

You have to watch this it's just to funny

LosDef

Also Fullmetal Alchemist should be your next show easy top 5 anime

Chris Gutierrez

Damn I actually really liked that idea an analogy Montana came up with regarding the Hermit crab and shell. That was a satisfying and deep diving metaphor for the show.

Ablaze

Death Note would be a great choice. Been meaning to watch it, that’ll be a great excuse to start, if you guys decide to go with Death Note.

Laggy

I hate when people say Floch didn't go what they went through when he was literally the sole survivor of around 100 people getting smashed to pieces by rocks all around him.

Laggy
>>77651268

I don't like Floch but to me he's the most human person in the show

Laggy
>>77651268

Also Levi did get emotional, he decided to let Erwin rest instead of using him for his genius

fr0st
>>77651268

The difference is between training with and being friends with people in your battalion or regiment and then them dying versus just being a survivor in a group you only knew for a few days. Both are terrible but the rest go through the former and have deep attachments to many people who died while Floch just joined and didn't really have an attachment to anyone.

Jarod

Demon slayer and Vinland saga, would be so cool if you guys reacted to them

Alex ✨

Off topic but what breed is Appa? 😭

Sevenpsych

That wasn't a baby lol, that was Grice

Ayça

The hermit analogy was amazing! Never thought of that but it is so relevant to the story.

Cesar Linares

I for one absolutely love flock he has a point and it show later on but even Erwin felt the same about being able to choose that’s why he would discourage everyone so much before joining

Riley

That is a gorgeous pup

Ian Mitchell

Hermit shell metaphor is spot on

lily whetsell

I haven't seen fullmetal alchemist so I have no opinion on it, but Deathnote is definitely my favorite anime. I keep going between that and aot but I think death note is still my #1. I would LOVE to see ur reaction. hopefully you do it 1st, but either way I just wanna see it eventually

lily whetsell
>>79121010

I also wanna add that I saw a theory that Eren wasn't excited for the sea but Armin was because Armin's dream was literally, just to see the ocean. Erens dream was to have the freedom to. At that moment, Armin realized that they have different dreams. Eren also sees that he still hasn't reached his true dream, freedom. He thought ending Titans was the key to that, but it got more complicated as you mentioned. He doesn't even have a clear idea for what freedom is, shown in the line where he asks if killing all of their enemies will finally make them free. The term freedom has no straight meaning to him, he just knows he wants it.

Rob Not

This is my first time rewatching this episode and and I can say is.... holy shit!

mika heademptyjustcatra

WOW just wow, i can't belive this show and how good it is, i don't even know what to say, im in shock, every episode leaves me with so many thoughts but at the same time not being able to say anything, but this season finale is something else holy shit!

Felicia
