Yes yes yes I'm so excited for the amazing journey this has the ability to kick off and I'll allow myself to dream of the journey! So everyone shout it loud Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood!

fr0st

Holy shit, wasn't expecting this so quick. Amazing surprise!

SDH

Commenting in the hopes that FMAB is the series to go forward.

Fukkyu Bisch

Putting in the vote for FMAB. Also, just a fun fact, nothing spoiled: the VA for Roy Mustang, his name is Travis Willingham, and he is married to Laura Bailey, the VA for the sexy lady at the end of the previous episode. Also, both Travis and Laura play D&D with other VAs and with Matt Mercer as the dungeon master. They have a whole series on YT called 'Critical Role' just fun facts. I hope you guys enjoy FMAB

Brenda

Demon slayer

Austin Wiebel

oh yes 🙌🔥🍻 time to watch 1 & 2. obviously, my vote is for FMAB. if you continue, there are gonna be post-credit scenes starting with episodes 6 and 8, then not until 28 I believe. but after 28, every episode has one in some fashion 💪✨

Tyler Morris

I would be so stoked if you guys chose to react to this. Definitely in my top 3

Colan Miller

I personally would like you guys to keep up with this show. It's a great series and deals with some heavy themes. It's also very rewarding in the end. The action is awesome, the character development is top tier and the plot is great.

Danny C

While I’m expecting Demon Slayer to win simply because it would perform better cause of popularity, I really hope you two continue with FMAB!

fr0st

I really hope you folks continue with this series. Also living for Kenny's himbo energy about the title of the show and Montana roasting him about it. Y'all are the best! xD

NinjaNoceros

This is so much richer than Demon Slayer, this is what y'all should watch

ToastyPenguin

Honestly hope this is the show you go with, there's just so much to dissect in this series. And if you ever need a pallate cleanser for the darker elements of the series, the author Hiromu Arakawa has another series called Silver Spoon, which is based on farming and equestrian, a lot more light hearted in comparison but equally as fantastic.

Lexi Browning

Definitely FMAB over Demon Slayer. I voted Death Note originally, but FMAB was a close second

DTLA

you should have stopped after the first episode if you are going to because now that i've seen 1x2 again Ima rewatch the whole series lmao

Ethan Honza

All the series suggested are great, but you guys NEED to continue FMAB. It’s engaging, it fits your style of reaction/discussion, and there’s no waiting for future episodes because it’s done.

Paperbackfantasy_97

I hope this is the show you continue with! FMAB gets so good as it goes on!

Jesse I

FULL METAL!!!!!!

Marcelo

Please continue with FMAB

KT Bees

I am Once Again casting my vote for Fullmetal. Glad y'all seem to like it so far!

Élina Kressmann

that episode sold the show for me, it is not afraid to show the ugly part of the magic system and sets the course of their arc ! There was a lot of seeds of informations planted during this episode and all of them payoff at some point ! This show is good ~

Leanna

This has my vote to continue!!

r3liant

Hopefully FMAB will be chosen. It's just a great anime and personally I find it way more interesting than the alternative.

Eric Heim

🙌🏼🙌🏼

Abby

hope you guys continue with this one!!

Alexander

Pleasee do this show!!

Ravn Stevensdóttir

This show fully has my vote, I started watching it when it and demon slayer when they were chosen over death note, I’ve fully finished demon slayer and gotten about 28 episodes into FMAB, and FMAB has quickly become one of my favourite shows of all time

Coco XLarge

The Fuhrer said Ed has nerves of steel, which is also why he named him Fullmetal

AverageAnime

Yeah, definitely FMAB over DS for me.

Ci-Ci

FMAB 100% need to happen!

Rob Not

Let's go FMAB!

Amelia

Story proper here we go! (Plus episode 2 and it’s already passed the Bechdel test if you care about that sort of thing. mainly bring that up because the women in this show are both well written and simp worthy, a perfect combination!) I do think this is a better show too based off how you’ve established fan engagement. I love Demon Slayer, but the story overall is simple (not pejorative) I think FMAB is a better discussion prompting show with deeper themes. Regardless I can’t wait to watch more of your reactions! As long as you both are having fun and enjoying what you are watching I love watching with you!

CoronerPerry

I think you should choose Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood as it is a complete work. And a great one at that. Save demon slayer for next to see if more comes out.

Asteroidea

Awww, poor Bradley being discriminated against because of his eyepatch. ...and his brutally ruthless efficiency in cutting people in half with a sword. This is a really great show, and I think you'll really love the characters as they develop and the unravelling mysteries, so it's got my vote!

Robin Carme

definitely in my top 3 anime!

brosenthalUO

I love both FMA and DS but I think there is something to be said for having the complete emotional journey of FMA available to you right now to truly experience and immerse yourself in. This show is such a complete and complex story that it has endured despite the years since it wrapped up. DS is wonderful and fun and beautiful but I think it would be more impactful to watch it right before season 3 comes out.

Ci-Ci
>>85193959

Yes I love the women in this show! It’s nice to see characters that you can connect to as a woman and not just a side fodder character for the main male protagonist!

Jack Luna

Lots of other people are doing demon slayer reactions right now, but very few are doing FMAB reactions, which I think Is a factor!

Haorii

There we go again with the dying hairstyle from the mum 😅 she has the same hairstyle as Eren‘s mum 🙈

calcifer

Handy context re: pacing and story development: I don't know if Chris filled you guys in on the relationship between Fullmetal Alchemist (the manga) and the two animes that have been created based on it. Essentially, they started making the first anime ("Fullmetal Alchemist") before the manga had finished, so once they caught up with the published source material, they had to make things up. They started making "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood" with full knowledge of the manga's arc (they worked with Arikawa, the mangaka, to get the ending right even though it still hadn't been published yet at that point). All of that is to say that the first 13 episodes of Brotherhood tell the same story that the original anime did, because that part of the manga had been written. The two diverge after this. The creators of Brotherhood (presumably) didn't want to bore people who had seen the first one, so they keep up a fast pace at the beginning here and don't spend as much time on each new plot point. So the first bit of Brotherhood can seem rushed or maybe even underdeveloped, but they slow down and linger more after episode 13. ((So if the pacing at the beginning bothers you/throws you off for any reason, just know that it's temporary.))

Eric Smith
>>85196156

Huh. People usually discriminate against him because he's the "fuhrer" lol

JHB

I understand Montana's point of view because I didn't grow up with any stews whose recipes included milk either, but they do exist. Not just ones where you'd expect it like oyster or clam stew, but also beef and chicken stews. In fact, given the mailing address Kenny gave out, you're located in prime Southern milk-based chicken stew territory. Maybe check out some recipes for a Letts Cook stream?

hayden

love demon slayer BUT so want y'all to watch fmab! fmab has my vote!

Zachary Hay

I love both these animes but my vote is still gonna have to be for demon slayer

calcifer
>>85202021

The image of pouring milk into a bowl of stew feels wrong, but like, there's milk in gravy! Roux is the base of so many stews, and it's literally just butter, flour, and milk. So I'm with Montana in the initial squick, but it's not like pouring skim milk into veggie stock.

Chelly

My vote’s still for FMAB. Also, idk if this has already been decided, but I think Mustang and Hawkeye would be great to base your character art off of. They’re an awesome team and definitely some of the best characters in the show.

Eric Smith

Wooo engagement! Really pulling for this show. Still weid they skipped Youswell in this version though (ask Chris)

Aleksandra
>>85193959

Agree 100% Demon Slayer is a good show but nothing much to discuss there as story is pretty simple the hype around it is much about the animation! FMA has got a great story, characters, soundtrack and animation. It's definitely must watch!

Daolord Badlands

my vote is for fmab, demon slayer is good, but the story isn't as good as fullmetal in my opinion, plus it's finished.

JHB

In Kenny's defense, it's mainly the arm and the leg that are metal, so it would be more accurate to call Ed "Partial Metal Alchemist". But that would be a lame code-name, and the PR guys would be having a fit, so "Full" it is.

Ace Jensen

definitely voting for this one Fullmetal is my favorite narrative of all time

JHB

Just going to underscore my vote for FMAB over Demons Slayer (since the vote is between them and not "both"). But I'll also take the opportunity to urge you to do a "wrap up" episode after the She-Ra finale so that you can catch some of its additional material before departing that show.

hex

I'm really really hoping this show wins!! It's a classic with a very powerful statement. Also, I think watching some of these slightly older shows will help to better appreciate the innovations of newer animation. And on top of all that, this series has an end, which will make it easier to move to another anime after.

hex
>>85193959

Fun fact, both Demon Slayer and FMAB were written by women (:

Kamiya

As much as I love Demon Slayer, there is a reason people who want to get into anime are recommended FMA:B

JHB
>>85202021

Well, yeah. I know the kind of beef stew Mom made, and there's no place in there where adding milk would improve it. But for a recipe that knows it's going to be using milk for added creaminess and rebalances its flavor profile accordingly, I'm not going to blindly say it can't work. The recipes are out there, and in some areas they're local favorites.

Erwin Prado

Demon Slayer's great but it's no FMAB!

awildjord

i hope u guys continue with this show, i don't remember most of it but i do remember loving it when i was little so this is giving me an excuse to finally rewatch it lol

MacGuffin

Having only seen the original series and not Brotherhood; this one really chucks a lot at you at once. I'd feel very overwhelmed if I didn't already know where it goes. Still hope you guys continue this at some point. But I have to say my vote goes for Demon Slayer first. I think you guys will really enjoy it. Also seen a lot of suggestions for Code Geass, which I can't recommend to you two enough. Thanks for all the great content. Stay awesome.

Jack Webster

Mandatory FMAB support of approval

Jack Mountain

I would love to see you both deep dive into the themes that this show presents, and how it presents the different characters’ morality and thought systems. I get something new out of it every time I watch it, and I can’t wait to see what y’all come up with talking about it!

imcalledgpk
>>85200620

I remember reading the manga and watching this series almost simultaneously towards the end. Episodes would come out once a week, and the manga would have a chapter every month. It was a wild journey, and even then, I thought it was absolutely ridiculous (by workflow standards) that the manga finished in June of 2010, and the anime finished almost exactly one month later.

imcalledgpk

Growing up, my favorite anime was the 2003 version of Fullmetal Alchemist. That all changed when they announced and started this series. It was like the world was reopened, and everybody got more of everything. More themes, more character development, deeper understandings of the world and the people in it. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is a masterpiece, and even though MAL is a toxic wasteland, the one thing they got right is that this show is the best.

fr0st

Don't mind me, just rewatching and commenting each watch to boost engagement on this post to indicate that it should be watched next. FMAB is widely considered a classic for a reason.

John Carrizales

One thing to say about the animation is this series has no CGI if anything I think the Train in a few scenes is CGI other than that its all hand drawn animation! Unlike Most animes done now and days

Darthwin Wright

Both are good shows but Brotherhood is a completed show so I am definitely voting for it.

Tann

still my top choice the original holds a place in my heart too but brotherhood is amazing

Geneva

Ahhh I like both shows idk do Both!!!

Alejandro

FMAB is always going to be a classic

Ty.Po

FMAB for sure

Bazil
>>85224537

I always see the original as more geared towards the drama side of Fullmetal Alchemist while Brotherhood is more action oriented

HamboneKablooey

My vote is for sure to continue this series! Just a heads up, some episodes have post-credits scenes, so if you go forward with this series maybe have a list handy of the episodes that do have them!

Doronsra
>>85216637

Brotherhood follows the mango more closely. The normal one has an altered story that doesn't fully follow the manga that's why they ended it and started this one

Doronsra

I'd say do Full Metal because it's more deep and has alot more going on similar to AOT. Demon Slayer is very linear and not as deep.

Darby

commenting cause you should watch this!

Tau

Defo watch this one!

cryptid

Definitely FMAB over Demon Slayer

callmehobbit

Definitely should watch FMAB first

Æther Paradox

I will be very sad if demon slayer beats FMA

Macayla Cody

Please watch, this show is amazing!!!!

James S

Trying to watch this reaction and it’s not loading 😭 rip

Conor McNamara

Helllll yah FMAB is all time goated show!

JennatheBreadQueen

commenting to boost!!! i love that y’all are already identifying important overarching themes. hope this show wins so we can see more of those discussions!!! ❤️

Ci-Ci
>>85207429

"Look it's the somewhat metal alchemist!" yeah doesn't have the same ring to it haha

Ci-Ci
>>85200049

lol plus them all being happy and she was soooo wonderful and nice haha instant death sentence for a mom character

Anthony Ridgway

Please watch all of FMA: brotherhood! It’s so good!!

Rachel Douglas

There are so many reasons to watch this show and I think what is so interesting is how thought provoking it is. It gets into some really deep stuff that demon slayer (love the show by the way) only brushes over.

Rachel Douglas

Some of the reasons to watch this show over demon slayer is the connection and relationships between the characters in the show. It is more fully developed than Demon Slayer (which is still a good show too) and you really get to understand their personalities and the growth they go through. Plus the female characters in this show are top notch. You have already been briefly introduced to them: Riza Hawkeye is a badass, Winry is amazing, and even “Teacher” is such a wonderfully developed strong character. I think all of us would love to see character analysis of those strong females by Montana and you!

Ella Kennedy-Lange

really hope you did this one it’s one of the best and honestly had more to offer emotionally than demon slayer imo

katherine

Fullmetal Alchemist!

fr0st

(peppy voice) Fullmetal alchemist! (sad voice) Fullmetal Alchemist

Andrew G

Yah, so, the Truth absolutely horrifies me every time I watch this when it pops up behind Ed and says “that is the law of equivalent exchange. Right? Young alcηξΜιζΤ?” bitch get the fuck away from me lol - Bro this SHOW though. The post-reaction thoughts and questions absolutely nailed it. I never really thought about WHY I like it so much, but you definitely put your fingers on it. The world feels almost alive because of the way they do these scenes and things. I’m kind of really impressed now that I realize just how alive this world feels, in episode TWO lol

Andrew G
>>85218089

Lmao I started reading this in Katara’s voice “That all changed when the-“

Andrew G
>>85207429

I laughed WAY too much when Montana had to stop the video though lol The look.

imcalledgpk
>>85218089

@Andrew G "then everything changed, when Studio Bones said 'let's run it back'"

Myrtenaster18

I havent seen fma:b in like 10 years. This is def one of the best anime. I'm already on s2 for my rewatch 😁

professor of the snark arts

Please continue with FMA, it's one of the most rewarding experiences in all of anime. Also I hope this Chris guy tells them which episodes have post credit scenes.

fr0st

Kenny, if you want to note them down, the following episodes (AFAIK) have post credit scenes: 36,40,42,43,44,46,47

SomewhatAnonymous

Once again, throwing my hat into the ring for FMAB

Eric Keeton

I love this show so much, you already have a really good feel for the themes & why certain characters & plot beats work even after just 2 episodes I’m excited to see what you think of the rest! Once you get past episode 4 there’s no looking back

Tomasz

I love Demon Slayer and Tanjiro is objectively anime's Best Boy EVER.... Still FMA is a better anime and works better for a react channel

gabe killian

You should definitely watch this show

Jessica Olson

It's been awhile since I watched this but from my understanding, Al got traded for the "monster mother", Ed's leg got traded for a peek behind the door of truth (which is why he can perform alchemy without a transmutation circle). And Ed's arm was in exchange for Al's soul.

Zak Moran
>>85383038

Definitely. I feel like FMAB has got to be what they go with. They already have so many questions and curiosities, plus it's Kenny's best friend's favorite show. Besides, Demon Slayer will just be even longer by the time they get to it, which seems like a win.

Nick A Sam III
>>85216637

Totally agree on a Code Geass, but it’s a hard sell for a reaction channel. It’s a beloved anime with most anime fans fav character …It has the best ending in all of anime, which AoT copied a decade later...but it doesn’t always do great on YouTube. This channel is 100% about chasing views. It’s the number one priority, over quality, complexity of discussion, or their own personal tastes. Which is why they can’t pick a show right now - when the choice should be pretty clear

Serafine Pelletier

The show is best suited for your channel of all the others you are considering, IMHO.
