!!! I was just thinking today that we probably wouldn't see this episode until wednesday or thursday and to be patient but you went and surprised me!

I've never seen FMA before.. and I've just gotta say... Mustang is so hot... literally and figuratively

Mark O'Leary

So, the long and short of it is, Barry is dead.

Chelly

shame that Lust had to die just 19 episodes in, but at least she went out in a blaze of glory 🔥

Coco XLarge

The philosopher is pure energy. Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be used up (converted to another form).

Montana is correct, the feral body smudged the seal so it was broken and so Barry is now fully dead

Geneva

I've been waiting for this one

It's probably worth pointing out that Mustang's gloves are ignition gloves, so he has to use the circle and snap his fingers to create a spark to use for fire, as opposed to firebenders you're probably familiar with where they just create fire out of basically nothing. He's very OP (as we have seen in this ep) but if you can rip his gloves to interrupt the circle or dampen them so that they can't spark, he is effectively blocked from being able to do anything, which is a really cool balance of powers.

Ryne C. Snyder

Fun fact: Roy Mustang's and Lust's voice actors are married in real life. There are videos of them talking about coming in to work to record these lines that are quite funny

Marcelo

im really curious about this achilles heel argument now lol

JennatheBreadQueen

i once saw an edit of That Scene put to Wildest Dreams by taylor swift and it changed me as a person

Keygirl13

There is a post credit scene in this episode

This is probably my favorite episode of the series, just for the incredible animation and voice acting of Lust's death. It's also such a huge turning point for the series, as it reveals several things about the Homunculi, including the source of their power and the fact that despite their near-immortality, they CAN be killed. It's also the first major villain death, as Lust has been kind of the primary antagonist up until this point and now she's gone.

Wade Kruse

Was something wrong with the comment I posted earlier, talking about Lust’s character traits in comparison to the other homunculi? It seems to be gone and I don’t really know why.

imcalledgpk

Montana is gonna have the same reaction to the ends of these episodes like she had with attack on Titan. *Ending theme starts* HUGE eyeroll "no way!"

Nimbus

Fun Fact: Hohenheim means Home in the heights in german. Draw your own conclusions :)

Imagining Laura Bailey having a lot of fun doing just endless screaming loops while recording for this episode

Fukkyu Bisch

Ahh, the episode that birthed a million simps... Either of you two start simping this episode? My simping was, to put simply, reignited.

they are both DnD players of critical roll. Travis willingham (mustang) also voiced the bison hunter from Korra. And Laura Bailey(lust) voiced kid trunks on DBZ. And their wonderful DM Matt Mercer (Levi from AOT). plus other well known voice actors. They met voice acting for Gears of War if im not mistaken.

The english VA for Lust has said she cant watch this episode at all because of how deep she had to dig into her darkest depths to do it. Too much trauma is brought up listening to herself act it out now.

Mikey

7:33 I can see Montana using every ounce of will power not to talk about the soul being the brain and thinking about the case where a man lost part of his brain and lived with an altered personality but if the soul is the brain damaging the brain would damage the soul but Al has no brain and is in a body of armor so she comes to the conclusion it's best not to talk bring it up since it's magic.

Time to put on your seatbelt. The show becomes an intense ride as the plot thickens. You will learn why this is a top tier anime!
